About the restaurant

The principle of the menu is straight-forward: quality products that are prepared minimally and cooked thoughtfully. Spinning Bones is a brunch and dinner spot for Alameda people by Alameda people. It is a casual neighborhood restaurant open 5 days-a-week for sit down dining, take-out, and large party catering. Spinning Bones strives to be a common area for the residents of the East Bay to come together and engage in conversation and camaraderie over great food and drink.

Our family visit to Canje was a very pleasant one. Our reservation was for 8 people but we had 9. The additional person was accommodated without ant problem. We were seated and our server was very knowledgeable and courteous. All of the meals were delicious. Everyone was happy that the meals were truly elevated Guyanese meals. We all agreed that we would return to enjoy the delicious meals at Canje. The icing on the cake would have been being able to meet Chef Tavel.

The service at Adorn was simply superb. We sought a leisurely lunch with old friends, and the servers were gracious, patient, attentive, efficient, friendly but unobtrusive. They addressed me by name, explained the menu clearly, and enabled us to enjoy a wonderful reunion with very dear friends. Really, the service was as fine as any restaurant I’ve patronized, here or abroad. Food was very good indeed, menu was wide-ranging, and the prices were appropriate for the venue (a Four Seasons Hotel) and location (downtown Chicago). We shall return.

We LOVED everything we ate at Parachute. We shared the Korean fried chicken, haemul pajeon, 30 day dry aged bulgogi, yukgaejang, and s'mores patbingsu. The vibe ws really fun and our service was great. When they open again, I'm certain they will bring the same care and expertise to another excellent experience.

About the restaurant
Behind an unmarked door adjacent to the wine room, guests are transported to District 1 (China Town) in Saigon via Blackhouse’s 28-seat restaurant-within-a-restaurant, LSXO. A spinoff of the Little Sister brand (Manhattan Beach, Redondo Beach & Downtown Los Angeles), LSXO is love letter to the culture, heritage, and lineage of Vietnam (Vuong’s relatives hail from the region). While Little Sister is known for its French Vietnamese menu, LSXO follows the same Southeast Asian inspiration with a more refined feel.

“There is no signage for LSXO—you can spot the entrance of it tucked into a section inside Bluegold, but you’ll have to know it’s there. While Bluegold is light, bright, and airy, LSXO is its darker, edgier little sister,” says Vuong. “Both restaurants operate out of the same kitchen, though the menus are completely different. We had a reservation and were seated right away. Wait staff was friendly and attentive without hovering. Everyone in our party ordered off the extensive”special” menu…One full side of appetizers and another full side of entrees. The food was delicious. Everyone enjoyed what they ordered. The only complaint I had was that I got a Greek wedge salad and it was priced at $24. It was romaine lettuce, grilled onions, 1 tomato cut up, dolmas (2), and a few olives with a yogurt dressing and some feta cheese. All the salads were $24. Quite hefty for they didn’t contained any chicken, fish or beef. I would definitely go back because the quality of food was very good. They also brought 4 mini cannolis when they brought our check which was a nice touch.

About the restaurant
Inspired by an Italy road-trip Chef Ryan and I (Arturo) took back in 2008, we’re pleased to introduce Catania, the newest member of the Whisknladle Hospitality family. Here, we’ll be featuring simple, seasonal and authentic Italian Coastal Cuisine (None of the Italian version of TexMex you see most other places). Our commitment to authenticity will be evident in our use of wood burning ovens and grills, an all Italian wine list as well as an exclusively craft Italian Beer program. (Yes, Italy has an amazing craft beer movement nobody’s heard about.)

We were visiting La Jolla and saw the positive reviews. The experience was even better than we hoped. The location was beautiful with a second floor view of the ocean. We were seated on the patio and could see the sunset. The service was outstanding. Our server, Kristen, was so familiar with the menu and really helpful in guiding our choices. The food was incredible and so interesting. Don’t miss the focaccia. The pasta was fresh and perfectly cooked.

By far our favorite dinner so far in La Jolla and it may be some of the best sushi we’ve ever had. Be sure to try the seaweed salad, the Lobster miso soup and all of the sushi was the freshest we’ve ever eaten. Service was on point and the atmosphere was so cozy. Hope we can get in another meal here before we head home.

This was our first time dining at Asterid. It’s a little louder than we like but the food was quite good. The grilled avocado was stellar and different while the risotto with prawns was also quite tasty. We enjoyed the chicken and short rib that was also unique with flavors. Service was just ok and this is clearly a spot for patrons of the Disney Theatre since it cleared out including staff by 9:30p. The wine list is sparse and they still use vacuum saver vs Coravin or better technology. We’d go back for sure but with different expectations.

We ordered the 7 course meal with juice pairing. Even though we have eating at Vespertine, I was thinking that Meteora was a cut below but boy, was I wrong. Each dish surprised in its complexity, bespoke ingredients and flavor. I would certainly eat here again. The only thing I didn’t like was how low the plants and rope chandeliers were since the impeded line of sight even with people sitting next to you. Otherwise, the wait staff were professional and warm. They were willing to go the extra mile, like bringing a blanket for the outdoor area because of the cooler temps. I would certainly eat here again. It’s a special lifetime experience not to be missed. We have eaten at all of the high end restaurants in L.A. and have never had a culinary experience like this. About the restaurant
Love and Salt is a story that begins with Cafe Pierre, a restaurant birthed by Guy Gabriele in 1977 to bring a taste of France to Los Angeles’ South Bay. While Cafe Pierre was a beloved part of the community for nearly 37 years, in 2014, Guy and his daughter Sylvie Gabriele, now the owner of Love and Salt, closed the restaurant to bring new life to the iconic space.

Love and Salt is a philosophy: that food needs only two ingredients to be great. It’s a sensibility that informs the feeling in the restaurant and the dishes on the menu — Italian-inspired with Southern California soul. An approachable wine list and classic cocktail program similarly reflect the vibrant SoCal setting of the restaurant, located just steps from the Manhattan Beach pier.

Have been there 3 times already, I do love this place. Was disappointed that the manti was not available bc that’s what I brought my mom to try. Food was great overall - the beef borek is perfect, the dips are great, the ice cream was so good (not too sweet), and their baklava is delicious!

We visit Stubborn Seed every trip we take to Miami. The experience is incredible and the food is always top notch. The flavors, portions, and presentation are unmatched. Service staff is always extremely knowledgeable and friendly, and this year was no different. Last night was a limited staff due to the impending weather and while some restaurants it would feel like you weren’t given the same experience, it was quite the opposite for us. It felt like we had the place to ourselves with impeccable service. If you haven’t been here, go treat yourself. The wine pairing with the tasting menu is a MUST.
