Thé staff were great! The venue was very comfortable and they st us in comfortable table by the window as I had asked in my online reservation. The magical mushroom burger was magic. Very delicious and we enjoyed our time. The waitress was just right with service. She gave us space but was there in a timely manner! Thank -you 19!

We had a lovely evening celebrating a milestone birthday at Riviera on a Monday night. The service was superb, as was the meal. The Seafood Tower was a standout, as was the Halibut and Lobster Pasta. Dessert was also excellent. Between bites it’s entertaining to take in the expert moves from the mixologist at the bar. It was quite busy for a Monday night but not too loud to hear our table conversation. Everyone enjoyed the evening. Highly recommend.

Well reservation was for 1:15. Got there at 1 and got seated. Nice table. Told us they had a party coming in that night but all good for us - we could stay until 3-3:30 as we out of the way. Ordered couple of appys. Then the pressure was on to order mains as they were closing. We said we were told we good until 3. Guess they changed their minds (it’s only not quite 2). Said just give us order and we hold the order but kitchen can prep the food. So we ordered a pizza. Well it came within five minutes. Was the pizza that had been cooked for the staff. Wasn’t quite done. Little cold. They did take off the bill. Bottom line - if you need to clear the room by 2 then don’t take a 1:15 reservation. Side note Calamari and caprese salad delicious. Servers great but the rushiness made it a poor experience

We were so impressed with The Carriage House, from our appetizers (we chose the yummy PEI oysters but there were lots of choices), to our entree (rack of lamb). The menu is one of the most extensive that we have seen in recent years, you will find anything you want to eat here. Perhaps the Wooly concept is best represented by renowned Canadian artist Charlie Pachter’s Queen on a Moose” paintings. These pictures conveyed what would happen if a British pub was transferred to Canada. That pub would feature local foods, beverages and decor. It would be an All-Canadian pub featuring the best of the British pub culture. A local or home-base pub for its guests.

The Wooly was inspired by the Ontario micro-brewery explosion that occurred in the late 1980’s. The brewery industry was dominated by 3 large companies for over 40 years until the start of the craft brewery phenomenon. Teaching a course on beers at the University of Guelph Bob Desautels was keenly aware of this development. When an opportunity to open a pub in downtown Guelph emerged he decided to feature only small micro-brews on tap.

The food was amazing!! I'm celiac and they were very accommodating and knowledgeable. My husband and I stumbled upon this restaurant and came totally under dressed but it was a very fun atmosphere. Would go back again for sure!!

Birthday dinner with the family. We were 5, plenty of room. The service was excellent and the server knew the offered products very well and was able to make great recommendations. Too bad the place closed, this was a jewel!
