Food was good especially steak night but thought t bone surcharge was high compared to ribeye or sirloin but overall good. We were near the bar and the bar and area seemed very cluttered with lots of none essential items and made the place look messy and disorganised. For a £200 dinner for 5 of us maybe a complimentary lemon cella/baileys would be appropriate. Thanks Roy

All you really need to know about Medlar is that it was full on a cold Monday night in November! If that isn't quite enough for you, the food was genuinely excellent with a very interesting menu, from which we could easily have chosen any number of different dishes. All of the staff were engaging and very pleasant, as a result the service was excellent - attentive without being overbearing. It could never be described as the cheapest restaurant in town, but in this case the old adage "you get what you pay for" definitely applies. We won't hesitate to go back, when the opportunity next arises.

About the restaurant
你好, welcome to the Mandarin!

Established in 1961, this traditional and authentic Cantonese restaurant in Blackpool town centre has been extending a warm oriental welcome to customers for 55 years!

Choose from a mouth-watering selection of delicious dishes including Mrs Wan’s dumplings, made from her own recipe, Szechuan chilli beef, Nasi Goreng and oriental fruit salad with lychee. We are very proud that every dish and every sauce is made in house, because we care about our food.

The belief that every meal shared should be special is why this restaurant takes time to carefully select and prepare the freshest Chinese dishes, adding just three extra ingredients - quality, experience and time.

Our core belief is that we are a local restaurant, open year round for local residents and visitors to the resort alike. We"ve worked for many years with our local suppliers to continue to bring you the best experience of Chinese food in Blackpool.
