Open for indoor and outdoor dining and curbside takeout. Outdoors dining is subject to the weather. We have heaters but not for all tables. Please dress warmly. If there is a chance of rain we will have to cancel.

Shiro has been named the Zagat Guide's number one restaurant and is consistently one of the highest rated establishments in the guide (#5 in 2011; #2 for service in 2013). Shiro is summed up by it's ingredients. Menu items are driven by the best available, nothing less is acceptable. For over 35 years, diners have enjoyed our French and Pacific Rim inspired menu. A tradition of fine dining with excellent, friendly service. We may supplement our menu with a special Taste of Shiro (soup or salad, meat or fish, dessert). Wed/Th. The evening's menu is posted around 3pm.

As much as we love them, we must ask that your dogs and other pets stay home. Service dogs, of course, are welcome.

This was a very nice experience. The service was excellent, as was the food. I had a drink, the Parker Everything rolls, an avocado salad and a scoop of ice cream. My companion had a pasta dish and asked for without meat, which they did. My only criticism is that my companion is very tall and has long legs. We did find this a little challenging to fit the legs in the space allotted.

Went for our furst time for our 25th wedding anniversary. It was really nice. Bit noisier than i like...kinda takes away from the couples togetherness. But you need to know are request a bit of seclusion if possible. The staff is A++ all the way. Friendly and Sincere. They want you to relax and enjoy it. Food was TOP SHELF 👌 SUPERB ACES...EXCELLENCE on every item we got. From Steaks...to crab...Mac N Cheese with lobster...cocktails....dessert. Thanks for making our 25th special.

The Dal Rae is the Southern California restaurant where 1950s classics still reign. Lobster Thermidor, Pepper Steak, Chateaubriand, Prime Rib, Fresh Fish, Rack of Lamb, Steak Diane and Cherries Jubilee prepared tableside are among more than 100 items on a truly retro menu, complete with some of the city's best martinis. Opened in 1958, the Dal Rae has maintained its original atmosphere, too, right down to a piano bar with live entertainment. And, most important, it has preserved a tradition otherwise found only in private clubs -- knowing its customers by name and treating them like the most important people in the whole wide world. The Dal Rae is located close to the 5 freeway and half-way between LA County, Orange County and The Valley. It is a perfect location for business meetings or entertaining friends and family.

Always my favorite restaurant to go to when I visit. Always top on my list and many of my friends also. Such a delicious meal every time. We had Dawn today and service was exceptional. From parking at the valet, to hostess greeting and seating to all those who came by our table were gracious and friendly. Took a new person with us for his belated birthday dinner I’ve been promising once I came to town. He said it totally exceeded his expectations by far. Love this place and will always be a customer!

Food was great, service was great. The noise level was out of control for a fine dining restaurant! Definitely not the best place if you’re trying to have a business conversation. Overall pretty pricey, but the food portions were good and tasty!

The third location of Beauty & Essex occupies 10,000 square feet of space on North Cahuenga Boulevard.
