Ikoyi is one of last year’s most critically acclaimed

Iré Hassan-Odukale’s memories of growing

Jeremy’s ideas explode out.
Jeremy has used his fascination with flavour

Beautiful hotel, lovely Oak Dining Room only spoilt but the hideous blue rug which is fixed to the wall and completely out of character with the rest of the building. Interesting brain challenge to exit the car park in the dark unless you stumble across the intercom which is a distance from the car park barrier. Food & service were very good although Bellini was disappointing as the champagne glass was served at only 2/3 full. Maître’d was very good, obviously well trained and well spoken

Nose to tail eating means that, where appropriate, every part of the animal should be put to good use in the kitchen and so along with Roast Beef and Lemon Sole, diners will find Rolled Pig’s Spleen, Kidneys and Ox Heart, Liver and Chitterlings as well as the Roast Bone Marrow & Parsley Salad, something of a ‘signature’ dish.

About the restaurant
Bruce Poole and Nigel Platts-Martin opened Chez Bruce in 1995. From the outset, it was their intention to serve the very best food and drink but within a relaxed, informal yet thoroughly professionally orchestrated environment.
At Chez Bruce we are not particularly into gadgets and tricks in the kitchen. Home-made charcuterie, slow cooked braises, offal, warm and cold salads, classical desserts and bread-making could be listed as specialities. We also take the cheese board very seriously indeed and it forms an integral part of the restaurant's day-to-day life.
The Directors of the restaurant are fanatical wine-lovers and are very proud of the restaurant's wine list which truly is one of the very best in the UK.

About the restaurant
At Restaurant Story the premise is simple; we seek to tell our story through the food we serve.

We opened in April 2013 gaining our first Michelin star only five months after opening and in 2021 we were awarded our second Michelin star. Finally in 2023 we launched Story 3.0 hosting a 2nd floor.

Inspired by chef Tom Sellers’ culinary career and the history of British food, our dishes are an edible story, each one inspired by a memory. We want to share these memories with you through what you see, smell and taste.

To help achieve this, we select only the freshest seasonal British produce and then pair it with an exclusive wine list featuring small wine producers and select British craft ales sourced locally.

We opted for the Carte Blanche menu, which marks the fourth time we’ve dined at this establishment. As always, the food was truly outstanding, and the service remains exceptional—easily among the best in its class. However, I would not recommend the non-alcoholic drink pairing. The soft drinks tasted overwhelmingly like vinegar, and I believe fruit juice-based options might be a more suitable alternative. On the other hand, my friend chose the wine pairing and found it to be excellent.

I’ve always been interested in Chef Adam’s approach to British sustainable luxury, especially when it comes to using every possible part of an ingredient (even the peels, seeds and shells) being used creatively in very elegant ways for exquisite dishes, sauces and even cocktails. He famously has a rule that no new dish is allowed to be introduced unless every part of the ingredients are used to their fullest potential to avoid waste. I finally got to experience Chef Adam’s creations for my birthday, and was blown away by the delicious and beautifully crafted food and drinks, as well as the impeccable service by the brilliant Frog team, from front of house to the serving and kitchen staff. Everyone was very friendly and the atmosphere was fantastic. The entire hospitality team was brilliant, and looked after us very well. The interesting thing about Frog is the creativity behind each course - both in terms of ingredients used and their various forms and flavours, as well as serving vessels and utensils, as well as the theatre and narrative behind each course. Every detail is well-thought through and meaningfully elevated. Getting to meet Chef Adam afterwards was fantastic, and it was nice to hear about his thoughts on seasonality and how he came up with the dishes and drinks. He also very kindly signed my book which was the cherry on the cake for me. Each of us were also given a special little souvenir to take away and relive our wonderful experience the next day. Definitely looking forward to my next visit!

About the restaurant
Frenchie Covent Garden is the new London outpost of the revered Frenchie, Frenchie To Go, Frenchie Wine Bar and Frenchie Wine Shop on Rue du Nil by Gregory Marchand. Including restaurant, dinning bar and kitchen table seating available.

Greg considers London his second home after having spent several long periods in the capital cooking at the Savoy, Mandarin Oriental and Fifteen, where the kitchen nickname "Frenchie" stuck. The menu at Frenchie Covent Garden will echoes its Parisian counterpart with simple yet precise dishes heavily influenced by Greg's travels - London, New York, Spain and Hong Kong. It will also host an ever-changing, carefully selected wine and seasonal cocktail list.

About the restaurant
Kudu is a friendly neighbourhood restaurant in the heart of Peckham.
Our menu is shaped by the seasons, creative plates that combine the very best produce with a splash of imagination to give familiar dishes a playful twist.
Our South African roots inspire our food - whether that's slow cooking in a potjie pot over hot coals, or baking our delicious Kudu bread. Sourced as much as possible from local suppliers, we celebrate hunters & foragers and gather what we can from our own herb garden and vegetable plot.
Kudu is a couple team- Amy Corbin & Patrick Williams - brought together by our love of good food and a closely held dream to create a special place where we can share our favourite dishes with friends, family and neighbours.

We are a group of four female lifelong friends who visited on a Thursday lunchtime in December for our annual Christmas catchup. Midsummer House is in a beautiful location by the river and had a lovely atmosphere. The staff were very friendly and attentive and nothing was too much trouble even when one of our party had to make a last minute change to one of the dishes this was accommodated without any issues and in a very speedy manner. The food was delicious and the sommelier was very helpful with wine pairings. Whilst it is not an inexpensive lunch we felt that we had value for money and would not hesitate to recommend it.

The food is always excellent at Gymkhana. We had the tasting menu with wine pairing. The wines were all well-matched to the food. Excellent lunch again. One thing the restaurant may like to consider is not allowing babies/small children...I don’t think the ambience of this type of restaurant is suitable for them.

2024: awarded 2 Michelin stars!

Trivet derives from the age-old cooking utensil - an iron tripod placed over fire to support a cooking pot or kettle - reflecting the warmth and balance which forms Head Chef Jonny Lake and Master Sommelier Isa Bal’s values for the restaurant, as well as their working relationship.

From the very beginning of the creative process, Jonny, Isa and the team think about how food and drink work together. The menu features their explorations of ingredients, dishes and drinks from around the world, inspired by the culinary history and diversity around us. The wine list is set out chronologically, following the historic beginnings of wine to present day, with over 350 wines from classic producers to the New World, as well as acknowledging the root of viti-vinoculture with wines from Georgia, Armenia and Turkey.

As well as the welcoming main dining room, Trivet has a terrace, wine bar and private dining space. Monday nights transform into the LaBombe Wine Bar.

We’re striving to push the boundaries with Indian flavours, but with cooking techniques from all over the world, some traditional, and some very modern. At Opheem, I’ll be using the same paints as I’ve always done, to create a very different picture, on a very, very different canvas. Why? The service staffs are quite attentive and reliable. Before today, I read some previous comments mentioned about folding napkin, this is now been done. But not all tables will be cleaned with the bread crumb. For the food, there was too much crunchy taste, only one course with it would be enough. The course with coffee is also like a dessert, a bit early than expected with the sweetness. Would prefer something warm as the room temperature is quite low while dining. The sunflower petals are only decorative, not eatable, it makes no difference with the course. An ant was on the side of the plate that served beef tartar. Not a big deal for us, so we didn’t bother to ask. Maybe the pine leaves underneath were freshly picked.
