Sustainability is a core focus of many restaurants across the country, and some of the most committed are recognized as ocean-friendly by the Surfrider Foundation, a nonprofit dedicated to the protection of the world's ocean, waves, and beaches. Those restaurants must meet strict criteria, ranging from using proper recycling methods to eliminating plastic bags, straws, and utensils. Read on for which OpenTable restaurants are a part of the ocean-friendly program, and consider patronizing to contribute a small part of helping preserve the planet.

Really delicious meal and a great server. (I think her name was Amanda) She was so friendly and funny! Really delightful! We started with the calamari and it was cooked perfectly! We then each had a different entree - Bluefin tuna, pork chop, chicken Parmesan and salmon. All were great and really tasty!! We shared the bread pudding for dessert - another winner! We will definitely return to Sbicca!!

Made a reservation for our favorite table and it was waiting for us. The ribs were excellent. Our wonderful waiter Rodrigo gave us friendly excellent service as usual. Avila made sure we had everything we needed. Pacific Catch is our favorite go to restaurant

The host staff was a little discombobulated. Table wasn’t quite ready when they said to return table was ready. Host not very friendly. Seemed annoyed. Waiter and the rest of the experience was wonderful.

Jakes could live on its location alone, right on the beach in beautiful Del Mar, but it serves a wonderful restaurant with excellent food as well. Our party of three each thoroughly enjoyed what we ordered (huevos rancheros, pancakes, fish tacos) for brunch. It's one of our go-to places.

Our server McKenna was outstanding and made some recommendations we thoroughly enjoyed. The Amalfi G m T was s perfect balance is quality gin and specialty tonic. What a jewel of a find! Echo was amazing, and I won the best husband award big time for finding this great place on our last night of vacation. We tried the Chef’s Sharing menu and were just delighted with it from top to bottom. Too many great dishes but the Sea Bass was out of this world. Sonia was marvelous as our server and made the dining experience outside even more wonderful. Cannot say enough good things about the food and service. Highly recommend!

We have had New Year''s brunch at Hoku''s before. The food is excellent and they provided a wide selection of food for us to eat. A must is ozone and sashimi for the new year. We really enjoyed the eggs benedict, crab legs, lobster and prime beef. We were full by the time dessert was served, but somehow found room for the red cherry cake, butter mochi and bread pudding. So good. The views of the beach and ocean really made the entire experience relaxing. A wonderful way to start the New Year. Cheers!

We have been to Haven many times. I love to go during Haven Happy Hour because the specials are a fantastic value. They have both covered and not covered outdoor seating which is dog-friendly. There are even heaters for the few chilly days we get here. The food is delicious, and the servers are outstanding. When we came here for a dinner meeting, the private room was well set up, and the service and food was great.

Reservations at 7 no wait time. Server came within a minute and gave us menu’s. Came back within 2-3 minutes to ask if we would like to order drinks. We ordered drinks and when he came back we ordered our meals. Excellent customer service and food was delicious. Wonderful overall experience.

It was a very nice dinner with a great family atmosphere. I went to celebrate my birthday with my parents and to take in the holiday decor. The waiter was very attentive and even surprised me with a dessert for my birthday. I definitely recommend. They are very hospitable.

Well-appointed space that is convenient for anyone in the Battery Park City area. The only advice for out of towners is that even breakfast here is treated like fine dining with lovely table settings and good service but with prices to match.

We had the best time, our server, Jess was kind and funny, and great at her job, and Chandler, who was assisting her was equally sweet and attentive, they made a great team. We were a large party (10) with dietary restrictions and all of our questions were answered promptly and with kindness. The food was great, all came out together and cooked perfectly. All in all we could not have asked for a better experience.

During these trying times, we are trying to adjust our service so that customers feel safe but still have a great Ki's experience. Daytime service is as it always has been: order at the counter and the food will be brought to you in the seating area we have created outside under the tents. Night-time is full service. When I inquired about the Thai green curry sauce and whether it was hot, the server said she would give me a little bit to taste even though I ordered something else. It was not hot and sort of sweet! So next time I will try the Thai green curry! Very thoughtful on her part.

Overall it was good! Good customer service! They were able to accommodate for the seats we wanted in a section less noisy. The size of the appetizers were very small. Too small to share but we made it work… The meal portions on the other hand, very generous! I would go back!

The food is fresh, delicious, and very well priced for the portion and quality. My family and I usually order takeout and enjoy it at the beach nearby. The food is perfectly suited for a casual picnic. As it was rainy winter’s day, we dined in. The macadamia crusted fish is always a hit. I highly recommend it as well as the rib and chicken plate. Ask your server for off the menu specials in case you’re looking for something different from the usual menu. The quality and freshness of the mac/nut fish is on par and surpasses some of the more upscale, expensive, 5 star restaurants in San Diego. Their appetizers are also delightful, like the coconut shrimp. The servers and front of house staff are kind and attentive; and make great recommendations. Our server was very kind to offer a complimentary dessert as a couple in our party was celebrate their wedding anniversary. This is great place to dine in the village with family and out of town guests. The patio offers a lovely view of the beach and coastline. Overall, a wonderful experience as always.

Our dinner was excellent. We did have to wait awhile for our table but I wanted a nice view of the water as it was a special occasion. Our server was so nice and we had everything we needed. We started off at the bar and had the conch fritters which were served with an orange marmalade. We had stone crabs, Billys serves it with home made mustard sauce. The Mahi was cooked to perfection and we loved our crispy Brussels sprouts. This is a great place for a romantic dinner or birthday celebration. Our bartender was also very friendly.

Executive Chef Marshall Blanchard makes the most of local ingredients by sourcing our fish directly from island fisherman and our beef from neighboring ranches. To quantify this experience would be to do it a disservice! Food quality was of the highest standard, cooked to perfection and served in a visually stimulating way that titillated the senses. My partner and I were overwhelmed by the cosy and intimate atmosphere but equally impressed by the space and decor of the entire restaurant. In all an absolutely exquisite evening and a return trip will definitely be in order!

We have been coming here for the past 2 years. It is a quaint, family-run restaurant with consistently good food. The fish is fresh caught that day! The wait staff is courteous and professional. The desserts are made in house and delcious.

We have eaten here many times as it’s absolutely on of our favorite places. The oysters are unbelievable. I got the Lobster Marco for my entree and the lobster was bad I sent it back and the one they brought me was not much better. I just paid for it and moved on. I’m not sure what the deal was but I’ve eaten the lobster Marco many times and it’s always been delicious but not this time. We will be back though we love Dragos.

Great tacos! We went at 8 pm and were surprised that they closed at 9 pm. But it is on the website - just didn’t see that. We managed to chose the only restaurant on South Beach that closes early on a Saturday night! But, it was worth it and I would go back - for lunch or happy hour.
