When it comes to atmosphere, Blacklock has more than the usual chophouse. Diners at this restaurant’s original location in the heart of Soho will find themselves tucking into generous stacks of charcoal-cooked chops in a building that once housed an iconic brothel! Now, however, there’s just plentiful cuts of Cornish meat, cooked to perfection and served with a range of heartily seasoned sides. We were visiting from the United States for vacation (2 adults and 1 child). We chose this restaurant to celebrate Thanksgiving while abroad. It was easy to book through Open Table and were welcomed right at the time of our reservation. The staff was warm and friendly, and even offered to take a family photo for us! The food was amazing and the atmosphere was relaxing and inviting. 10/10 highly recommend!

One of the best meals I've ever eaten... Came here for a birthday treat with my partner. Everything about the experience was perfect: from the hospitality at reception, the impeccable and friendly service in the bar and restaurant, to the food itself. It's not cheap (although the express menu is very good value) but represents good value for money in terms of the quantity and quality of the food. The steak and lobster were the highlights, but there's something mouth-watering on the menu for all appetites. Highly recommended for a special occasion.

Everything from welcome to service to food was excellent. Only comment I’d make otherwise related to boring repetitive double bass noise in music. Ambience was great without it when occasionally it stopped. The buzz of satisfied customers created the right ambience. Thanks for great meal. B

Blacklock is known for their quirky locations, and this City outpost is no exception. Situated in what was once the largest meat market in the City of London, diners can experience not just the signature chops for which the chain is known, but also an expanded menu of sides ranging from charred courgettes to coal-roasted beets. There’s also a large bar area offering cocktails and wine on tap. Despite the traditional location, Blacklock City doesn’t disappoint when it comes to fun and atmosphere.

New Years Day the restaurant was busy but didn't feel crowded, Groucho position the tables with respectful space. Our waiter was outstanding, he gave us so much attention from helping us with off menu cocktails and wine selection, to patiently talking us through the meat cuts. We opted for steaks, which came cooked to perfection (not easy to get medium rare perfect but the chef nailed it) with all the sauces which where equally incredible. Advice - leave some room for dessert, Sticky toffee, cheesecake and cookie dough are all highly recommended.

1st visit here on New Year’s Day after receiving the cookbook for Christmas. Our curiosity led us here for dinner. The whole experience was excellent. Staff and service outstanding, so helpful with guidance regarding our order. Food was beyond expectations. We could not fault anything. We will now venture to the other venues for another tasting experience.
