Although this is in a hotel, we had a very nice dinner, with good service and we all thought the food was very good. My opinion was that it was a little expensive for some of the dishes. The sea bass portion was relatively small. The rocket and Parmesan salad came undressed and i had to ask for oil and balsamic. However it was overall a nice evening and I would go back

Nice pizzas, cooked in wood fire oven. Unusual t get a decnet restaurant in a chain hotel, but it's fine. Decor a little odd (huge atrium above you) but good enough for the area in terms of price and quality

I had a pleasant meal with a friend. My tuna was slightly overdone but nice and the crab spaghetti was good apparently. Very limited gluten free options.

We were not impressed. My wife ordered a gluten free pasta dish and I ordered a pizza. It took over half an hour to arrive with many tables that arrived later being served before us. When it arrived the pasta was cold. The pizza was distinctly ordinary. My wife sent hers back. They redid it and it came back hot, but the second attempt included traces of normal pasta and as such was not gluten free. The only positive was the staff were friendly and they didn’t charge for the pasta dish.

A group of 7 visited this restaurant as it was close to Waterloo Station and an easy meeting point. The food was overpriced and was disappointing. 4 of the group ordered the Crab linguine, the dish was small with little pasta and crab meat and more like a plate of tomatoes in sauce. The dessert selection was limited.

I came with my friend last Saturday and ordered the calamari for starter and Damon for main. The calamari was some of the beat I have ever eaten and the samon was superb and fluffy. The service was impeccable!!!!!

Disappointed had booked table for my friend’s birthday.
Head waiter surly when we arrived wasn’t interested that we had a booking ushered us in quickly.
Vegetables didn’t arrive with main meal. Apparently they were busy.
We were hotel guests would have been better ordering room service.
Friend opted for set menu. Had to give all course options when order was taken.
We didn’t linger over our meal, so ordered fewer drinks than normal.

Food was amazing, service was terrible. We went for my birthday. One of the pizzas was forgotten so my husband had to eat after everyone had finished, the 3 girls ice creams came in 1 bowl not 3 separate bowls, we ordered 3 of the meal deals with 2 courses and a glass of wine. The 3 glasses of wine were put as 3 bottles on the bill. We asked for 2 more beers which never arrived but were put on the bill. We had to wait ages for each course, the restaurant was not busy. We arrived at 6.20 and didn't finish till approx 9.30. It was a complete disappointment for my birthday meal as we had travelled from Staffordshire and could have chosen anywhere in the area but chose here. Spoke to the manager who said it was due to a new team and rectified the bill (twice as we checked and it was still wrong). He took the service charge off and the price of the desserts, however, the money is not the point here.

Not organized at all. Ordered the grilled sea bass which came half cooked. After complaining we were informed that the grill / steamer was not working! Why couldn’t we be informed earlier?

We thoroughly enjoyed this Italian experience our waitress was very attentive as was the head supervisor.
The food was excellent and was made special by the Italian waitress explaining about the dishes.
Would definitely return when back up in this area.

Disappointing, I expected more authenticity.There was no atmosphere.
The food was average, the service was friendly but average.
When you order a bottle of wine in a restaurant you expect it to be poured for you not do it yourself.

Really great food and fantastic service.....lots of Italians eating there at the time so if its up to Italian standards! The only thing is that it is in a hotel (a posh one) in a atrium type area so not exactly cosy.

Pizza was covered in grease, tagliatelle was slumped in the middle of the plate like it was fresh from the microwave and the glass of Bellini which was £10 came in a tiny glass. I put on the reservation that it was our anniversary hoping they might give us a nicer table etc and we were just put in the middle of the restaurant on wooden chairs

Food was good waiters polite but we had a theatre date and despite mentioning it and asking for bill and actually chasing twice personally it took ages to get bill and others were using card machine who had no urgency. We were first in restaurant . It meant we got bill 5 minutes before show started and we had to run to county hall. Just made it.
A bit of unneccesssry stress.

Pizza good, other meal sizes a bit small. Service was slow, location is useful very close to waterloo but decor a bit dated and drinks list is limited.

We came to the restaurant for a pre theatre meal so we were early. The restaurant was empty and when we left at 7.15 there were only 3 or 4 occupied tables and it is a large space so not much atmosphere though this did not disturb us . Our meal was adequate although my steak was excellent and cooked to my liking. The berry panacotta too was lovely. The staff were really pleasant welcoming and attentive. Now we do not come to London often and it’s difficult to compare but our initial view is that the bill was quite high ... but of course that might be that it was a normal price for a restaurant of this type .

I booked for my daughter's graduation arrived early and they still accommodated us, great waitress attentive helpful got everything right unlike the chef, I cannot have certain things so on the menu it says tell us of allergies etc. so I did, waitress took full note but when the food came out they had done despite my request a garnish inc lemon (citric causes me issues) I sent it straight back .... few mins later new plate however I soon discovered it was not fresh chicken all they had done was brush the garnish off and removed the lemon as I bit onto the beautiful looking food ... my meal was ruined. I have to say all the other guests did not complain but my night was awful, luckily I only took a small amount of lemon in I dread to think how bad I would have been if it was a large bite .... so be warned if u have allergies check they have it right, yes they gave me a discount in the end but I had to endure pain all night long so for me I won't have happy memories of the meal.

2stars is fair
I would not recommend in general
My wife said that the rissoto was bad
My pizza was fine.. full of oil..
The chef helper (with glasses and tatoos, skinny guy) was caught tasting with a spoon and than cleaning it with handkerchief and returned to his pocket instead of putting to wash..
Bummer

We had passed L'Italiano many times but had never dined there. As we were looking for somewhere different to dine, we decided to try it out. We were very pleased with the ambience, the service and the food. We will return and recommend to others.

Service is appalling. It wasn't even busy and we were the first customers to arrive when the restaurant opened but it look for than 15 minutes for them to bring the bill.
Food wasn't that great and I wouldn't pay anything more than the price of the set menu. The set menu included wine but I didn't feel like drinking anything alcoholic so I asked for it to be substituted for a soft drink but the waiter kept saying he couldn't substitute and I would have to pay extra for the soft drink. So I requested the wine and then he came back and said if I order a soft drink the total bill would be much less than the set price menu. I didn't understand him at all but in the end the bill was around £5 cheaper than the set menu price. Not sure how it was all worked out.
Also the website states that the pre theatre offer is a selection of 2 courses from the classic menu which indicates a choice from the a la carte menu but in fact it is a selection from a set menu. They should post this menu on the site as it isn't as extensive as the a la carte menu.

We wanted a conveniently located, quiet and not too crowded restaurant, at fairly short notice, to meet up with some extended family from overseas including their baby. We were quite a large party. The Italiano fitted the bill well for us and we were able to secure a reservation with less than 24 hours notice. We were served by a number of staff who were all friendly, efficient and helpful. The menu is fairly standard Italian fare which is what we wanted, there is an adequate selection of wine and one of the waiters persuaded me to switch to a cheaper but as it turned out better bottle of Italian red. The food itself was good enough but nothing special. We were very pleased with our choice given what we were looking for.

In London for the Marathon, food was ok but service was terribly slow.. apparently they were really busy because of Marathon, I wouldn’t want to be there if the restaurant was anywhere near full, which it wasn’t.

Ok place. Pasta was good but they overcooked the steak. The chips were too chunky and soft. They should be thinner and crispy even if they are thick cut. Service was good and it has a very relaxed vibe being in a hotel. The value for money is very good when using the discounted offer.

Wanted a restaurant near County Hall. Googled and settled on L'Italiano. Excellent choice. Great food, great service and a lovely venue. The deal - two courses and a glass of wine for £23.50 (plus service) was very good. Will go again.

Booked at table here primarily for convenience having arrived on an evening flight and as we were staying in the hotel. Good choice on the menu, delicious food, very reasonably priced for city centre and nice kids menu. Service was friendly and efficient, really couldn't fault anything.
