It was our 20th wedding anniversary. I have been to this restaurant before and it was fantastic. This time...not so much. Nothing was wrong...but nothing was special.
Back after a year and right away I noticed that the level of food quality just has gone down. Which I was sorry to experience ! Hope it will be better next time !
Restaurant got loud as evening went on. Our table was wobbly and guy had to come and fix it. My codfish was good but slightly over cooked. It was on the pricy side. But overall it was a good experience.
The only reason we did not give 5 stars to “ambience” was the noise level, but the service and food excellent! Very happy we went there
Very hip spot in Tribeca...if you wish to sit at the bar for dinner, go directly to the bar and ask the bartender. They reserve seats sepearte from the main hostess. Fun place to eat with great food.
30min delay in freeing up our table.
A total chaos in seating us at our table. We had to wait for 1/2 hr and wait outside. The hostess at the reception was not friendly at all. The food was mediocre and expensive. Not worth the waiting for. A bit very pleasant experience at all.
Dining at Locanda Verde is a special experience. The wait staff and sommelier are extremely knowledgeable and helpful; the dishes are fresh, nuanced takes on familiar fare. Examples: pasta w/ a delicate white veal bolognese sauce, & hand-cut tagliatelle w/ a light corn and chanterelle mushroom sauce. The noise level is high, as are the prices, but for a special occasion, it’s lovely.
Terrific evening, first visit and can’t to visit again when our travels bring us back to NYC.
We enjoyed the food but very very loud table near us made it a little less enjoyable.
Fabulous meal. Outstanding service
Fine if you are just looking for a neighborhood lively hot spot, but not worth going out of your way for.... service was not great and food was ok...
Had a delicious dinner and a wonderful experience! Our server was delightful As was the sommelier.
Very great atmosphere but I felt food is pricey, oversalted, and small amount. The waitress of our table was somewhat inattentive and unfriendly. I did not want to be there long.
Good experience slightly marred by pushy servers trying to quickly turn tables. Some may call it attentiveness - I found it annoying
The food is excellent. They are a well-oiled machine, and as a result, it can feel more like a restaurant factory than an intimate experience.
The staff checks on you so frequently that it’s evident they’re trying to turn tables as quickly as they can. It makes for a rushed feeling dinner. The food comes out instantly. They also play extremely loud, bass-heavy music.
I’m the future, I’d go to sit at the bar and have a few bites. Locanda is not appealing as a sit-down.
Food was great as usual but service was a little spotty: we waited quite a while for our meal, the waiter poured sparkling water into one of my client’s glass of tap:still water, another staff started clearing the appetizer before asking if we were done with it.
Had the best waiter! Very attentive and sweet guy. Food is pricey but delicious.
Always great service! Love Locanda we are regulars
I was horribly disappointed by my Saturday lunch at Locanda Verde. Locanda Verde has been a regular "go to" for years, and I have never been disappointed. Is it under new management or ownership, because the food and service were subpar? My older sister drove over two hours from her home in Woodstock to join us, and I was embarrassed by the lassez faire service and the amateurish and boring food.
Our poor experience started at the bar, where my Pimm's Cup took over 15 minutes to make. This is not a complicated cocktail. The bartenders never maintained eye contact or explained the delay. It was uncomfortable and disquieting.
We moved to a table once my sister arrived, and the server was rushed, impersonal, and flippant. Food arrived and every dish, including our Bolognese pasta, was chain restaurant weak, created with no skill or creativity. I must surmise there was a change at Locanda Verde and now there is no expectation of quality. Sadly, another one of my favorite NYC restaurants bites the dust. Nothing lasts forever,
We were greeted cordially enough when we arrived but the waitress assigned to our table looked as if our being there was a huge inconvenience. Not once during our visit did she look anything other than surly. My husband thoroughly enjoyed his meal (8-hour tripe) but I felt that the hazelnut crusted French toast was short on hazelnuts and the citrus that was supposed to accompany it was likewise rather scant. I felt that it was overpriced and disappointing.
not as expected
Slow service. Food wasn’t that hot when finally served. But great atmosphere. Probably kitchen backed up. Nice wait staff. Manager seemed concerned when we told him it took a long time to get our main dishes.
Served complimentary birthday dessert with candle. Very appreciated. Served based upon note in open table.
Great summer night on the patio. Felt like we were in our own world. Food was delicious and service was sufficient. Overall a great time celebrating my best friend’s promotion. Can’t wait to come back to celebrate another!
Food was fantastic. The best scallop dish I ever had. The service was perfect. Our server was very informative and such a nice guy. We will definitely be back.
Jackie was fantastic
Went there for lunch today and I have to say that it’s the first time that I haven’t been satisfied both from a service and food perspective. Our server wasn’t helpful with recommendations on wine or food and our food selections were average at best.
Had a fantastic time here. Highly recommended for any one wanting good food and good atmosphere.
The food & service was outstanding!!
Although I had been there many times before. It seems the food is not as great as it used to be. However, the service was great.
Loved it! Would definitely recommend a visit. We will come back. Probably amongst the best meals we’ve had on this trip
Huge portions. Food is good, but not worth the $$$. Absurd wine list. Loud like Grand Central.
We are repeat diners here, but when a smoke alarm (and the associated flashing lights) went off multiple times during dinner, it was hard to enjoy a meal. This went one for more than 35 minutes. No manager or staff told us what was going on, if this was a false alarm/test, and then the fire department showed up. Upon asking our waiter what was going on, he said he didn't know.
Attempting to have dialog during this ruckus was challenging. Nearby table were given complimentary appetizers and/or dessert for their troubles. We didn't receive the same offer or apology for the mayhem. The management should have a plan on what to tell guests should this happen again, as well as instruct staff on what to share with patrons.
Was the food we had good, yes. Service was spotty. Management missed the mark.
This is a stand out that has remained a top notch choice for years. The location is great. The vibe is great. The food is great. Most importantly the service is always professional and friendly.
I’ve been here dozens of times and always love the homemade pasta. It’s one of my favorite meals in the city. This time it was over-sauced and over salted. A bit disappointed.
The food was AMAZING... This is our favorite restaurant in NYC.. The only gripe I have is that it really seemed like they were on a mission to turn the table over. During apps, they cleared our plates while we were still eating... I’ve been here several times but this was the first time I felt rushed. The whole meal was done in less than an hour: apps, dinner, dessert and check...For the money, I was taken aback by that.
cocktails are truly delicious and the food is magnificent. The ricotta crostini is outstanding and the buratta was melt in your mouth good!!
Fantastic whipped ricotta, and will he going back for the eggplant sandwich. The service was less
I have be to LC several times and have never had any complaints until our last dinner. The food was good but the service was poor. Our server was in somewhat of a hurry that night becuase he could have not spoke faster than he did and was defintley a little rude to us. There are so many great Italian restaurantst in the city that I think we will take our time before we return back to LC.
