The ambience was nice and we were sat almost immediately. The waiting staff was polite and were happy to give us our time to make our minds for what we wanted to eat.
The starters of chicken tandoori and paneer tikka was quite good but we were disappointed with the main course. The chicken was undercooked and all the curries were pretty bland and tasteless. I had high expectations from the place, but was left disaapointed.

The food was great as always and the portions are large. The waiter did not inform us that the starter we ordered was for two people - we ordered one each and were full on the double portions! So we took half our mains home then! :-)

One of my favourite Punjabi Indian restaurants. Authentic tasting dishes. Great service and always had a pleasant meal here. Always busy with a great atmosphere. Too many great dishes to mention just a few. Have been many times in the past. It’s a shame it has closed down now

The food was very good with ample vegetarian options. The service good even though waitress has no idea of the dishes-no problem for us .The one negative point smoking outside at the entrance off-putting as going in and coming out.

I used opentable.co.uk to make dinner reservations at London Darbar. The online reservation did not give an option of Turkish vs Indian. When we arrived at the restaurant, we were taken upstairs to the Turkish section. When we explained that we were expecting to eat at the Indian side, we were told we should have specified this beforehand. We explained we were tourists and didn't know that there was even a turkish section at all (I had eaten on the Indian side the previous week). The waiter offered to make a compromise and bring food from the Indian section to the Turkish section, however this took over an hour before I starters were even ready and then we were moved to the Indian side where we were met with anger by the waiter there. The food was good but the booking issue and the attitude dampened the experience.

Parking was stressful as we weren't advised about the carpark until after we arrived, despite calling twice beforehand.
Ambience was good when we arrived. Starters and dessert were very good. We ordered 4 curries for the main course...all of which looked and tasted the same. Disappointing. the rice came late so everything got cold.
The bill was high, considering no alcohol was ordered. Two groups arrived at about 8 pm...the noise was unbearable... alot of meeting/greeting going on. not relaxing at all. The music had been turned off and we couldn't hear ourselves talk. Thankfully we had finished by then and couldn't leave quick enough. They should have been given a private area.
On the whole, the service was friendly and attentive though.

"Reserving your table on Open-Table does not mean you will be given a table" was the remark made by the waiter as I entered the venue. We had booked for "Indian" meal, but were ushered upstairs to the "Arabic Venue", even thou a nice venue, it was unsuitable for our perpouse, as the table and chairs were very low, one of our group had severe back problem, and was effectively forced to stand most of the evening. After several appeals, the management refused to move us downstairs, and I was informed that because I had NOT confirmed my booking by phone I was "lucky" that they had kept any place for me>

We enjoyed the food it was great, but found the waitress who served us seemed inexperienced, one of the waiters did not smile at all when he brought our food to the table and was explaining what each dish was. One member of staff was very confident, smiled and interacted very well with each customer and new what he was doing.

It was my first visits at Al khamya firstly I like to mention is the food 10/10. The service was brilliant at the beginning till the end the manager spoiled by charging us extra on the bill. He didn't mention it was all you can eat. He made up things as he went along and was very rude. my opinion he has no management skills and no manners.

This restaurant is average looks. this for a change , service is very poor .good for occasion or party booking. Food portion is good for value, there is any descent wine selection list may be good as a cocktail selection siting is not that good for senior citizen and too dark in the restaurant. and is not even easy to read Manu. lots of cheap interior to look Arabic atmosphere . live belie denser is good performance . some thing different in East London.

This was my second time at London Darbar and the food was delicious, beautifully presented and comes out piping hot. There are plenty of veggie options which was good for me. This coupled with the outstanding service is what would me recommend this restaurant to everyone. The waiters are very attentive, polite and efficient, the service is 5* best ever. This is definitely one of the best Indian restaurants for miles around.

London Darbar for sunday lunch after recommendations from friends. A platter of poppadom and dips were served complimentary. The waiter was quite nice and made some good recommendations. the mocktail was very refreshing. My daughter started picking on the fruits garnished on the glass of drinks and the manager brought her a plate of fresh fruits on the house which was delightful. The starters were amazing. We had ordered Afghani chicken tikka and Hariyali Paneer Tikka (not on the menu but chef was happy to make it for us...top marks once again). For mains we has Panner tikka Masala, Rajasthani lal mass with tandoori roti. Food came quickly and at decent gaps. Panner was great, la maas was ok. Ambience was nice and we ate leisurely.

We went as a family of 4 and quite honestly it was one of the worst restaurants in terms of food taste / quality that I have been to! Def will not recommend or visit again, I will say that the service was good but unfortunately doesn't make up for poor food and very over priced compared to other much better quality restaurants located locally.

They didn't have the champagne I wanted so we had the buy th next bottle up which was more than double the price. Ordered drinks and they forgot one persons drink. Hard to get waiters attention as there needs to be more of them. Staff were very friendly and good atmosphere though they need to cut down on the dance music. Staff were not attentive and had to keep asking the waiters to top our glasses. The messed up the dessert order but the manager said we didn't obviously have to pay to the extra dessert they gave us. We had a good time all in all but that was due to the company more than the restaurant. If the service was improved I would definitely go again.

We are spoilt for choice for Asian restaurants in my area but this is one of the best. The service gets a special mention as the waitresses are very friendly, helpful and efficient. Food is very well presented and prepared with excellent flavours. While it is tempting to also have starters, beware as you will get too full to enjoy your mains.

The starters were great, and the mains nice however the restaurant is over priced for where it is located.

The waiting staff were very nice and friendly, however the staff were over attentive - as soon as we put our forks down/it looked like we may have finished, they would come and try and clear our plates ...at lot of the time disturbing our conversations.

the music is also a bit too loud, and too much like 'club' music. The venue is very well decorated.

London Darbar- Ilford Cranbrook Road. I booked a table for the Indian Resaurant but when I got there, I was told that I had made a reservation to the Lebanese section of the restaurant ,the hostess rearranged the booking,so users be aware when booking! The food was good, portions were reasonable (2 people to share each dish) and the ambience was v chic (buddha bar album with increasing volume through the night). Only negative; I asked for the duck dish and I was advised NOT TO by the waiter!!
