L'Orcio is an upscale dining establishment serving Contemporary Italian Cuisine. In house made specialty pastas like Ricotta Gnocchi, Papparedelle and Ravioli are only part of the L'Orcio experience. Chef d'Amuri, an Italian native, also works his magic grilling whole fish and juicy steaks and offers a variety of meat and fish dishes daily. Desserts like Tiramisu', Charlotte agli Amaretti and Lemon Tart are also prepared in house. A relaxing and elegant ambiance with a European flair is the perfect backdrop for lunch, dinner or spirits. Located in a refurbished historical home the restaurant offers a unique space their guests. Family owned and operated with an eye for detail L'Orcio has a lot to offer. One of the two best restaurants in New Haven - and of those two the best value.
The food was delicious. But I do always wish L’Orcio had a gluten-free AND dairy-free option for its pasta. The gluten-free gnocchi is probably delicious but has dairy. I’d love to be able to have one of their beautiful looking pastas one day. The lamb however was very tasty!
One last opportunity to eat in the garden this fall. Delicious food.
Disappointed that out of some menu items at 6:30.
Always a wonderful experience at L’Orcio. Favorite table in the front window. Great cocktails. Delicious pasta.
10/10 will go again at some point in the near future
Always consistently fantastic food and service. Great cocktails especially martinis .Highly recommend.
very nice protected outdoor seating area. excellent food.
The staff was welcoming and friendly. The ambiance and service were delightful. The Italian food was spectacular. The evening was all anyone could ask for. We will definitely be back. We highly recommend this lovely restaurant.
Authentic Italian food. The chicken was a bit plasticy but menu offerings and prices are great & generally food good though too salty
We arrived a little early for our reservation and we were offered seating options which was nice. We chose to sit upstairs because we’ve never sat up there before. The room was well spaced and comfortable. We had a view of the fireplace (electric).
Our server was prompt, professional and friendly. I asked for a wine recommendation and she gave us her opinion which I appreciated.
Our food came well presented and properly timed. The Papardelle al Ragu was very tasty and piping hot. The butternut stuffed ravioli was light and flavorful, also served nice and hot.
I’ve been to L’Orcio a handful of times and never had a bad meal. It’s my “go to” restaurant when I want to have a guaranteed good meal. It’s a great place for a date or a quiet night out with anyone!
I went for my boyfriend’s birthday. It was his first time there and my fourth time there. He doesn’t usually like veal, but had the parppadelle ragú and absolutely loved it. He finished the entire portion (large portion!). We had the fromaggi plate to start and it was delicious. The drinks were just as good. Service was attentive and helped out with my request (bday surprise).
had a great work dinner. food was excellent
Dinner took a while to get, but it was outstanding once it arrived. They were generous with their acknowledgement of the delay, comping our drinks and providing a free Desert.
We loved our table in the front window! Our waitress, Ellie, was wonderful. The food, as always, was delicious.
Terrific meal as always. The Burrata app and the Butternut squash ravioli were exquisite. Veal Scallopini was also delicious. Service was efficient and pleasant.
We love L’Orcio!! It has the very best handmade pasta anywhere and excellent fish and veal dishes as well! The service is very professional and efficient. The outdoor patio is exceptional!
Great food. Wonderful outdoor covered dining.
This was our second time visiting this restaurant in order to enjoy dining with friends and family outdoors. Even though it was during New Haven Restaurant Week, the menu was varied, the food was exceptional (particularly the homemade pasta dishes) and the service was outstanding!! Icing on the cake is the beautiful grotto setting and the fact that the restaurant is taking great care to protect their staff and customers during the pandemic.
We plan on returning again and again for more good times & exceptional food!!
The patio was beautiful and the drinks we delicious. I was not very impressed with the food.
The food and staff are amazing, as well as the atmosphere. No other restaurant in New Haven compares.
Food was great….we visited for Restaurant Week and we each enjoyed our meals. Gnocchi was so soft and pillowy, best I have tried. Tiramisu was amazing. It was just a bit quiet inside the restaurant so I sorta felt like I was in a library at times and the waiter was very quick to drop off our food and pick up plates but did not really check on us other than that. Food top notch, though. I would return to eat in the garden when it is warmer weather.
Amazing dinner during restaurant week. Food highlights included the buratta, gnocchi (that came with the salmon) and crepe dessert. We sat outside and had a perfect waitress (attentive, great recommendations, not overbearing), appropriate amount of time between courses and the outside ambiance was lovely. Would absolutely go back and recommend to a friend. Best quality meal and taste I’ve had since before the pandemic!
The food was flavorful butt a tad overdone.
We should have been offered fresh silverware, it was overlooked.
The outside grotto was charming, with wonderful ambience.
We would recommend L' Orcio to other couples.
This is by far the best authentic Italian Restaurant in the New Haven ares. The homemade pastas are like sitting in a Piazza in Tuscany...
Everything was delicious! Great Pinot Noir, excellent appetizers, Gnocchi Ala Vodka was light & sauce was tasty and not heavy. Followed by refreshing Mango Sorbet & delicious cappuccino.
We drove and hour and 15 minutes from NY to eat here😃 Only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars overall is because it took a little time once seated for server to come to table. But he was very good once we got our wine & ordered food.
The restaurant has Great food and excellent service
Great food and wonderful ambience. Definitely will come again.
My wife and I went to L’Orcio for our anniversary. We were seated on the outdoor patio. That atmosphere was perfect and we had a most enjoyable dinner. Every course was outstanding and the service was excellent.
We have eaten at L'Orcio a few times and it's always great. We had one chicken and one fish dish and they were both very very tasty. Our appetizers were very good as well. I've had the pasta bolegnese and that was excellent as well. The drinks were good too.
Attentive service. Delicious food. I’ll be happy to give them 5 stars when they offer a more thoughtful wine list.
Your service is always superior and the authenticity of your cuisine, rises above all other Italian restaurants in New Haven.
We made reservations for and were seated outside on the beautiful patio! The ambiance was awesome. The food was fantastic! Two of us ordered the Pollo al Limone and one ordered the Branzino al Forno Special. We all thoroughly enjoyed our meals!! For dessert we had the Gelato, the Charlotte (Chocolate mousse cake encrusted with rum soaked amaretto cookies & whipped cream) and the Torta al Cioccolato (Gluten Free Belgian chocolate cake served with whipped cream). Again, all were thoroughly enjoyed. Will definitely be back and highly recommend!!
This was our first time at L'Orcio. The octopus and sardine appetizers were delicious, especially the lemony mixed salad with the stuffed sardines.
Two of us had the rack of lamb, another had the filet with gorgonzola. I had the veal saltimbocca. Portions were generous. Sides of spinach and roasted potatoes were tasty.
Desserts were affogatos and a chocolate mousse cake. My cake was light, chocolaty, and big enough for two.
Service is attentive, professional, and friendly. Everything was perfect. Not a complaint among us. We look forward to returning.
We have been to L'Orcio many times and have never been disappointed.
The food is delicious and the service is perfect. It is one of my favorite
places to dine.
Nice lovely place. Terrace with heater, you can ask them to on or off.
We had a relaxing tasty meal on the outdoor patio. The food was good and the service was good and not overbearing. The only negative was the one very loud table that seemed to forget they were not the only people dining.
Great time, good food and lovely little spot to have dinner. Next time I will definitely try to eat outside, that looked lovely!
Good selection of red wine; not
So much for white wine
Overall a nice evening
