We always enjoy the food at Luca’s every time we go and this was no exception. The only negative(although not major) is that when making the reservation we were not made aware of the price fixed menu for the holiday. It would not have changed our plans but may have been a deal breaker for others. Even though it was holiday this should have been communicated. But as I said good and service were great as usual.
Great food but took a while to get our entrees.
The food here is fantastic!! Pasta is all homemade, and some of the dishes are ones you won't find anywhere else. It's small and decorated very nice, and the staff is friendly and very attentive. Do be prepared that the prices are higher than your average Italian restaurant, but it's the quality, homemade ingredients, and experience that you are paying for, well worth the price!! Bring your own wine, or buy from them, they don't make a fuss about BYOB. Well worth treating yourself to homemade, delicious creations!!
Very Good experience. The service though was slow. Maybe because it was very busy and the restaurant may have been somewhat understaffed
Appetizers and Salad top notch , entrees good, service a little slower than desired
Space limited, too crowded
noisy conversation due to close quarters
food very good but Prices high
Food was great service was good .
Excellent food, friendly service, and charming ambiance!
Had dined at Lucas a few years ago. Don’t know why I waited so long to return. Everything was excellent.
Food was delicious and service was great!
My girlfriend and I love this restaurant, it has become our anniversary restaurant for past couple of years. Food is always great, our server Leylah was very attentive and brought over complimentary champagne to celebrate our anniversary. Will continue to come back
Absolutely amazing ! The staff was incredible very helpful . They went out of there way to sing happy birthday and i appreciate everything . Will be coming back for any occasion
Very interesting menu! Everything was great. Hidden gem
The food is absolutely delicious! Definitely a hidden gem in the area!
Food was very fresh. Bread, Bruschetta , fagioli soup, pear salad were delicious and filling. Pasta entrees better the chicken entrees
Overpriced for the area.
Portion sizes are more than adequate, but expected a "wow" factor based on the creative offerings (and price). Three people in our party, and it didn't quite get there for any of us.
* Since this is important to some, patrons might want to know that staff is unmasked and no social distancing between tables.
Great well executed off the beaten path Italian. You could tell they use quality, seasonal, fresh ingredients. Will be back.
One recommendation: offer lunch menu on Sundays at least, it’s tough to commit to dinner portions when sitting down at 1pm on a Sunday.
True Italian cuisine at its finest. Never disappoints.
Fresh, tasty fish - salmon and branzino - and seafood - clams and mussels. Best chicken parmigiana! Hardy portions, pleasant, excellent service. Love the decor, serving pieces and tableware. Haven’t been here in years because of slow service in the past. So glad we decided to try it again. Will definitely return and recommend.
A great Sunday afternoon family meal. Food was amazing, service was great.
Food and set was excellent. We had the filet special that was outstanding. We were celebrating our wedding anniversary and we’re given complimentary dessert. Highly recommend Luca’s.
We were in town for a wedding and ate at Luca. The food was delicious and the staff was welcoming and friendly. We had a great meal!
Food was excellent, alcohol options are limited to NJ wines only, although you can bring your own bottle. This was the only negative for me. I should have read more about this and brought a bottle I loved the one we ordered was the Tuscan option and it was just ok. Again Fods was fabulous.
Friendly and accommodating staff with always delicious dishes!
Delicious, freshly prepared food. Always top notch.
Service was outstanding, our waiter, I believe his name is Karim, was quite frankly
the best food server I have encountered since the Covid-19 restrictions were relaxed. The best! And the main course, while excellent as always taste wise, was served cool, so that by the end of the meal it was very cool. This applies not only to my pasta dish but the veal parmigiana that my friend had as well (he commented on this at the end of the meal). Still all in all it was a very pleasant dinning experience and we will return.
The service was very good. The food was excellent and the atmosphere was pleasant.
This is BY FAR the best Italian restaurant in the area. It is the best European restaurant of any type in the area.
Service is friendly and efficient, food is impeccable.
I would say that it is impossible to disguise the fact that is is in a strip mall - but they do a great job trying with the decor. Tables are close together and a tight fit. You can hear what everyone else is saying - that might be the only drawback if you are trying to have a private meal.
This was my 2nd time there this year. The last time was about two months prior to today.
I was disappointed. While we (husband and I)went there for the fantastic food…the service was slow. They seemed to be understaffed. They had one waiter and one bus person for one side of the restaurant. Around us were complaining patrons saying, “we’ve been coming here for a really long time and it’s not the same”.
We were also shocked by the cost of one of their specials. $57 for a veal chop. Had we known the price before ordering it, we would have ordered something else off the menu.
There was also chatter about the whereabouts of the owners. Apparently the owner had opened up 5 pizzerias during the past year. Maybe they just aren’t present enough and that’s why service is slipping?
I don’t know if I’ll be back. There’s plenty of other great Italian restaurants around.
Sad…because this place had the chance of being our go-to Italian restaurants.
Loved the old school Italian ambiance this place had. Super clean, appetizer came out fairly Quick but was very good. Fresh bread, and probably one of the best expresso’s I ever had. Super friendly waiter who told me about the history of the place. I will be trying their pizza next time for sure!
I never write reviews. We found this menu online and traveled 45 minutes to try it and it was totally worth it! The pastas are amazing- between 2 of us we ordered 5 because we couldn’t decide. Fresh ingredients. Great atmosphere. Would recommend. Need reservation.
Due to Covid we still prefer to eat outdoors and did so here. We were the only diners out in the small patio area but Denise, our server, did a great job in serving us. She was there at all the right times and we never had a need to wonder when she would be back. The food was delicious. We shared the Fico appetizer and both had the Luca for our entree. Both were delicious. We will definitely be back.
Luca's is located in a small strip mall. You would normally drive right pass it--don"t!! The food is exceptional!!
Food was superb. Service was excellent. Highly recommend. We sat at an outside table.
OK...I wrote a review yesterday. Yes. True. Outside dining options WITH quality food are limited in this area. The restaurant we had planned on going to for lunch cancelled outside dining ...because of the forecast and the rain which has yet to arrive at 6:45pm. Anyway...I digress. A repeat of Luca's was more than acceptable. It was the opportunity to try the lunch entree's vs. more salads. :). We enjoyed the veal park and the veal saltimbocca. FABULOUS! Reasonable (healthy portions). The veal part was not smothered in cheese and read sauce. It was light and lovely. The saltimbocca.was also light. Both entrees were perfect. We were satisfied and not feeling overly stuffed as you tend to feel in most American Italian restaurants. And, Matt, our waiter (again!) was a delight. Reservations are already made to return in two weeks. Luaca's is definitely a new favorite! Worth the ride from Princeton Junction. The inside dining looks lovely. They serve Hopewell Valley Vineyards' wine...or you can bring your own. Noise level rating reflects eating outside. Today was the first time (my 3rd visit) the Rt 27 traffic bothered me.
Food was creative & delicious ! Service was great! Would def recommend & will be returning
This was our first time dining at Luca's. The menu was not your run of the mill Italian restaurant menu. The dishes were unique. The service was friendly, the food delicious and the ambience relaxing. We will be going back for sure.
We’ve been to Luca’s many times and have never been disappointed. Food and service have been consistently excellent.
Noisy and pricey food was good server was also good but $65 for an entree is New York prices
