Luigi's Restaurant & Bar
We so much enjoyed the good old fashioned Italian restaurant. Hard to find now adays.
Always good food prepared carefully and served promptly. Never disappoints.
Food was excellent but service was the worst. The lady that seated us was not courteous and the worst part was the service provided by our server. We had to wait a long time for bread that’s provided at the table and extremely long wait for drinks.
We requested somethings to be packed for take out and when we got home we saw it was not in the bag .
So for everyone who’s asking for a doggy bag please check to see if it was packed prior to leaving the restaurant.
food is always great easy place for me to meet people from queens as i live on long island the bread and dip that they give you is amazing that and a glass of wine !
Excellent as usual
Consistently delicious and fresh! Great service!
Excellent food & service
As always an amazing meal and evening. Thank you Erica and William
Have been here many times. Very nice that is in my neighborhood. Food was excellent! Had the eggplant parmigiana with sautéed spinach. Perfect portion size.
Birthday Celebration - apps and dinner were delicious- service was ok- had to ask for drink refills and water - busy - maybe needed additional servers -
Been to this local restaurant several times and the food is consistently good!
Food was spectacular Luigi’s has always been a family favorite
It’s unfortunate that when one finds a good local restaurant, subsequent visits are never as good. My wife’s filet was good and well cooked but not as tender as we expected.
I had pappardelle with eggplant. The pasta was over cooked and the eggplant looked as if it had been stewed for a month. The guests had eggplant parm and fish which they enjoyed so it’s not for me to comment.
Service was unusually slow although the restaurant wasn’t crowded. However, it was clear there were private parties in other rooms. We arrived at 5pm and dinner took about 2.5 hours.
We have been going to Luigi’s for over 20 years and we were always happy with the service and food. However, we were not happy with the food and service on Saturday. The bread was cold and we only received 4 pieces. Our server did not give us the full list of specials and another server stepped in to give them to us. For the first time in so many years we did not have a good experience.
Restaurant very noisy. Food great. Service great as well. I had dish on menu but changed the sauce. Server very agreeable and came out perfect.
Always excellent service, delicious food and all around good experience.
The food here is always very good and the atmosphere pleasant. It is a favorite.
Great neighborhood Italian Food without burning your wallet!
Luigi’s is consistently excellent, both food and service
My sister and I have gone here a few times in the past during Happy Hours but I had never gone here for lunch or dinner. The appetizers we had eaten with our drinks were good. Open Table reviews were uniformly good. It is why I decided to bring here a special couple, friends who have shown me a lot of kindnesses. They were celebrating their 47th wedding anniversary and I wanted a lunch treat that was excellent. The wife and I both ordered the salmon and I am sorry to say that we were disappointed. The salmon was kind of dry and the sauce was not exactly tasteful. We have tasted much better salmon dish in other restaurants. The husband ordered chicken parmigian. He said it was good but he is a very polite person so I am not sure if he was being honest. Since Luigi's is near the area where my sister lives, and the ambiance is cozy, I am open to going back another time and check out another item in their menu.
Great fresh pasta
We got there and they sat us at our table. We ordered r food and it came to us in a very short time. The food was prepared very nicely and it was delicious. We've eaten there before and we will surely eat there again.
Always enjoy dining at Luigi's !
Food was delicious, I started with the Baked Clams. She had a special salad: Arugula with Beets, Walnuts, Goat Cheese, and Balsamic Oil & Vinegar dressing.
For Entrees we chose the specials: she enjoyed Lobster Ravioli in a Pesto Sauce, I had the Grilled Red Snapper & Shrimp in a Scampi sauce, with Polenta.
No room for desert, but we were tempted!
We recommend that you use open table for making your reservation. We made a 7 pm reservation for 2 at 6:15 pm, arrived at 6:45 and were taken to our reserved table, that would seat 4, immediately.
A couple who walked in, just before us, waited at the bar for 10 minutes, and a recently vacated table for 2 was prepared for them.
Best eggplant al forno, topped with shrimp. Delish!
Excellent food, great service. Can't wait to go again
Old style Italian with too much red sauce and cheese...the Yelp pics looked better than what we found. Big portions that weren’t really good enough to take home—such a shame. Appetizers were better than entrees/pasta main. Server was friendly. Overall meh experience...
Amazing food, great service.
Reliable go-to local place - consistently great food and service!
Great environment. Will greatly recommend.
Luigi’s is consistent, clean, delicious food with great service. My favorite Italian restaurant in Queens! Great date spot and drinks are awesome.
The calamari with sauce is always an appetizer favorite. The lamb c hops were juicy and the seafood risotto was the best my sister had.
Wonderful food as always. Great service!
Food here is good. We were able to get a reservation for 6 people on the same day. Only downside is it was a madhouse- very crowded and very noisy.
I could take a bath in the pesto they serve with the focaccia... I love it!! You can’t go wrong with the homemade pasta.. been going here over 10 years.. it only gets better !! You have to try this plsce
Always an outstanding meal at Luigi’s, will be back.
First of all the food was excellent. However the way we were treated, I will not go back. I have been going here for 25 years. It seems something has happened with ownership or management. I was there for my 60th birthday. I think kind of a special day. Anyway, when booking I requested a booth. We got there right on time, and the place was maybe a third full. A lot of empty tables, including booths. We were taken to the area behind the bar and was shown a table right when you enter the area. I stated we had requested a booth. They said booths were reserved for bigger parties. I asked for the table next to the wall. Once again they said that was reserved for more than a party of two. Then she went to the back room past the bathrooms. Looked in spoke to someone and said there was nothing available there. I think they saw my annoyance. She spoke to someone else and finally took us to a booth. Again there were 5 booths open at the time. Matter of fact booths remained open through most of our meal. They then kept coming around asking if we were done. I’ve never been treated like this before. I don’t know what happened with treating people like people and with treating people like you want to take care of them. Nothing was even mentioned about my birthday which was also put in the open table reservation. I will not be going back here. It’s a shame where things have gone where supposedly money takes precedence over people. Sad.
We’ve been going to Luigi’s for years and have always enjoyed it. I don’t think we ever had a bad meal and the service is always friendly and accommodating.
