Warm and inviting, Luma’s dining room and bar are designed with rich woods, leather and stone, and the cozy lounge is filled with plush sofas and eye-catching artwork. Luma’s second floor location in the TIFF Bell Lightbox and its floor-to-ceiling windows offer outstanding views of King Street West and the downtown action.
From 4pm to 9pm, join us for $6 drink features in the Luma lounge, including flavoured martinis, Manhattans and Grolsch (Note: Magic Hour will not be available from September 6 - 17)
Terrific - food was really nice, staff excellent - a nice place to spend our anniversary...we will be back!
Was relatively easy to get a reservation in the dining area. All the staff went out of their way to make you feel welcome and comfortable. Food was delicious although a bit over-priced in my opinion.
Our wait staff was amazing made us feel at home with outstanding food and ambiance would definitely go back again made my girl friends birthday very beautiful.
excellent selection of delicious fish.
The tuna sashimi and cod were excellent
the lemon tart was delicious
First time at Luma-great overall experience from the time we were seated until we left, service was impeccable -Our waiter was so GREAT and seemed to enjoy what he does . Food was tasty. See you soon!
Met the chef who from Iceland.
Went for the special "Taste of Iceland" dinner. Excellent food - each dish so interesting. Enjoyed the evening so much we have made another booking to have it again. Also great service from Nicole. A really nice friendly team.
Great food great service very accommodating considering we were trying to race to the theatre and arrived late
Service was not attentive for wine and water fill ups. She had too many tables and one had 10 people. Overall a very solid food experience.
I rarely give 5 stars, but the interesting menu and wine list demand it! The portions are not overwhelming, but adequate. I appreciated the unusual food combinations. After we finished, however the server ignored us for around 25 minutes when we needed to leave for our concert, which put unnecessary time pressure on us. Never mind, I'll certainly go back and recommend Luma to others.
Located on the 2nd Floor of the TIFF is a nice restaurant that has a great selection of primarily seafood dishes with a few others. Good meal and cocktails.
came to enjoy oysters, ordered 4 dozen but got only 2 and entree after that. Waiter says he forgot
Albacore Tuna was cold
60 dollars for a whole
Sea bass weighing less than a pound? But there was lots and lots of rice. Not worth it.
We were very pleased with the experience. Our server was bright, funny and was integral in making our evening complete. As we were going to see Elton John that night, it was the perfect segue for what proved to be an outstanding concert.
We would highly recommend Luma and special shout out to Tran, our server.
Great all around evening
Things have changed and not for the better. Bread, and raw seafood apps took forever to arrive. Caprese salad lacked cheese and flavour. We said to cancel the entree orders and left due to poor experience. It was our anniversary dinner and we wasted two hours and a lot of money.
I think the experience could be better on a different night. They were short staffed with a big party going on so service was not great. Food was fine. Overall it was ok.
Our host Ben was very friendly and welcoming. He made my mom feel very special on her first visit to Toronto. Our server Megan was outstanding. She checked with the chef to make sure my mom’s onion allergy was not a problem for several dishes. Overall, tonight was a huge 5 stars for the service and kindness the Luma team showed my mom on her first visit to Canada.
We had a Birthday celebration and LUMA did not disappoint. Our Server Kevin is the best-from answering all our questions and accommodated my last minute request to put together a special fruit bowl for the Birthday boy. He executed in a friendly and professional manner. Seafood platter was as fresh as you can get. Fish were cooked perfectly and melted in your mouth.
The assistant manager on duty (sorry did not get his name) was also very pleasant and accommodating. Absolute world class hospitality!
I am already planning to go back to try their lunch menu.
Food was fabulous and the service great. They had us out in time for our show at The Royal Alex.
No paper towel in washrooms—had to go into the one with a hand dryer. Staff didn’t care...four of us mentioned it.
Service was less than average. Server focused on other tables when we only ordered one bottle of wine. We had to top up our own glasses when he disappeared.
Food was excellent. Table was badly chipped... I honestly expected better from O&B.
Service was really poor. We felt rushed all the time. My tuna salad was missing the avocado and when asked the server implied that I was making a big deal about that. We were never informed about the specials. My friend ordered espresso but had to ask for the sugar after waiting and realizing that it’s not coming.
I was very surprised and disappointed with this level of service for an Oliver Bonacini restaurant
Thanks again for the wonderful service Kevin! Everything was perfect from start to finish.
This was our first visit back to Luma since the new seafood menu was put in place, and everything was delicious! Our party of four started with Luma’s take on a caprese salad, which combined various heirloom tomatoes and large chunks of cheese in a very nice pesto based dressing. Not the normal presentation, but absolutely flavourful and good for sharing. Our mains included the miso cod, seared tuna, and shrimp tagliatelle dishes. Everything was perfectly prepared and artfully presented and most importantly, delicious.
Service was excellent throughout our meal, attentive but not intrusive.
Definitely worth a visit.
Great pre-concert dining experience. Lobster roll and oysters were excellent.
Food was slow to come and server wasn't welcoming of food adaptations, but otherwise, quite good!
I downgraded the ambience, because it was Sunday, the end of TIFF and they didn't open the restaurant - rather put us in the Founders Lounge with the same menu and service. We usually eat at Luma on the last day of TIFF and this was the first time the restaurant was off limits. Still, it's a great place, great food, and will go again.
The food is mediocre
Another over priced toronto restaurant which elevates form
Over substance and caters largely to unsuspecting tourists
You would experience better flavour quality and value at an ethnic restaurant
Don’t waste your money
I never go to the trouble of writing a bad review but we were honestly very disappointed with our experience at Luma. We went for a date night before a TIFF movie and while the reviews were so-so, many other restaurants were booked up in the area due to TIFF and we both love seafood so we thought - why not? The many reasons became apparent, primarily the food.
We ordered oysters, a kale caesar, the octopus and the shrimp pasta. The oysters were just fine, as most are. However, the kale salad was embarrassing. It was literally a bed of what looked to be romaine lettuce (though, when I raised it, I was told it was made of bitter greens?) with a couple small pieces of wilted kale, store-bought creamy dressing, cheap croutons and an anchovy slapped on top. It reminded me of what you might get at the Holiday Inn. When I raised a concern, I was told it was made of bitter greens and, to be fair, the server did ask if I’d like them to go and make another salad with just kale. I said no because I could see it wasn’t going to get any better and I hate waste. We picked at it but made it pretty clear that we weren’t impressed. The salad, of course, showed up on the bill anyways. We then waited about 45 minutes before our mains arrived, which meant that we had about 10 minutes to scarf it down before our movie started. My pasta was so-so, but the $35 price tag for four shrimp on a bed of fairly plain pasta was pretty annoying. The octopus was very over-cooked and sort of mushy.
There are few things I hate more than spending a bunch of money and getting little in return. We were less than impressed with the food and didn’t even get to enjoy our mains in the end due to the long wait. The restaurant was far from packed. Our server was kind but did nothing about the salad, nor did she check in on us to ask if we’d like another drink. We had one beer each over the 1.5 hours we were at the restaurant. $160 later, I’d give it 1.5 stars.
Tiff pre movie dinner with my spouse
Three out of four of us had the soup. It was not hot.
The main courses were passable. One of us had halibut and he was ill all night.
Services was good. However this was the second mediocre meal here in the past few months, the last time being in July. Will not return. Food quality is not there.
I've been here a few times. It is always excellent - consistent quality and frequent changes to the menu keep it interesting.
Luma was ok. The oysters were good, ceaser kale salad was mediocre. The mains were good but not great value for 2/3 of them. Overall ok place but definitely not outstanding.
This is not my first tome visiting and I always enjoy Luma
There was a delay
One of the two main meals the Entrée arrived first so we shared it.
The appetizer my guest ordered arrived later !
Then my Entrée which we shared as well
Anyway the food was very good
Busy time for Luma but we had a great meal and evening. Menu is still very interesting and very well priced for the location and quality. Good, affordable wine list. Well done Luma for remaining a great spot to go on King West.
Good place to grab a nice meal before a show at the Bell Lightbox. Nicely prepared food, open atmosphere. Decor is slightly dated.
Everything besides the food was amazing. LUMA menu use to be amazing! I am not sure why you changed to a seafood restaurant. Please bring back lamb, duck, and steak!
Yummy and a lovely space
Dinner after a movie at TIFF. Lobster roll and tacos were excellent. We loved the truffle fries. Blankets at the outdoor tables is a nice touch.
