OUr favorite neighborhood restaurant for 8 years. Delicious food, great specials, courteous attentive service and romantic quiet ambience. We are praying that these fine gentleman make it through the current craziness.
Great food and service. Always consistently wonderful
10/10 Service, food, ambiance, Perfect restaurant recommend for everyone of every diet.
Service was slower than usual.
Extremely slow service in regard to getting our meal!!
No apology, just always said it’s coming!!
People later then us served faster!!
Sometimes when service is slow at other places they apologize and give some thing complimentary not here!!
First and last time !!
It’s become one of our favorites - never disappoints ( in an area , UES, of disappointing restaurants
As usual, the food and service were excellent. Highly recommend this restaurant.
Luna Rossa has the best Italian food on the UES!
“We’ve been coming to this restaurant for a very long time tonight was a disaster the waiter that we usually have was extraordinarily nasty upon us asking why we were charged for cheese which it was always complementary and why we were charged to split a salad that we could’ve split ourselves he asked us not to come back if he was going to credit our bill how rude how disappointing that someone should behave this way and the manager just looked on we will never come back.”
The food is always great. Never had a bad meal or experience there.
Very nice small neighborhood restaurant. Great for special occasions. The chef is the owner. Waiters are very helpful. Quiet atmosphere. Would definitely go again.
The food is outstanding and the wait staff professional I love the place
Incredible food, atmosphere & service!
Food was excellent as always. My only complaint is that they charged $2 to split a salad which I would have appreciated knowing about ahead of time.
We ordered an entree which they never told us they did not have so instead they brought us another fish, which was much more expensive. When we questioned our waiter about what he brought us, he insisted it was what we ordered. It wasn’t until the Maitre’d came to talk to us that he admitted the waiter had not been honest with us. The service was also very slow.
The food is very good and the service attentive. The menu is varied and everything we ate was excellent. I do wish they did not turn down the lights. They did respond when we requested that they be turned back up. If there was a rating between very good and outstanding I would give them a higher rating.
ALWAYS outstanding!! Every part of dining out!!!
Food and service is excellent. Wine recommendation was also good. Place is consistent.
Luna Ross’s never disappoints. It is our favorite neighborhood go to restaurant. It would also be one of our favorites if it wasn’t in our neighborhood. Great food, warm friendly service and a charming cozy atmosphere.
On Tuesday, December 31, 2019 (New Year's Eve), my wife and I had dinner there. We live 3 blocks away. We have had many dinners there. I made a reservation on November 25, 2019 at 5:00pm. In my reservation, I asked for a table in the front room. When we got there at 4:45pm, the manager said that we should sit in the back room. The restaurant was empty. We insisted on the front room. The manager was nasty. Our servicer came by. He is excellent. He persuaded the manager to give us a table in the front room. The chef and owner came by and wished us a Happy New Year. The manager told us that the chef and owner was not there. We had crispy artichokes. We had Bouillabaisse. My wife had sorbets. I had Millefoglie Alla Crema (mille-feuille) (Napoloen). The food was excellent. Also, the service. The price was very good.
Another excellent dinner experience- wonderful food and staff as always.
What an amazing neighborhood gem!
Nice food definately home made, and server was friendly
Exceptionally well prepared classics - flavorful and attractively presented. Old-school service and touches. We love indirect amber lighting and this place has it - making everything and everyone more attractive! Be prepared for the wine list... there a a few good options at about $50, but then it gets more athletic. Overall very well worth it - good value.
Very delicious food and well timed service. Portions are not overwhelming and the atmosphere is quaint.
Great food and service
Finally got to taste the lamb shank, which was always sold out, Now I understand why. All of my guests enjoyed their meals and the service was impeccable. As usual.
Great little restaurant with a wide choice of excellent dishes. Service is attentive but low keyed. Great place to go for a meal with conversation
On Saturday, November 23, 2019, my wife and I had dinner two very good friends. The food was excellent . The service was also excellent. It was quiet there.
As always, the staff was welcoming and attentive and the food delicious and impressive to our guests.
Veal scallopini needed more flavor. Spaghetti and meatballs was a very small portion for the price. Wait staff was good and atmosphere is nice
Next to my table there were 3 people sitting obnoxiously loud and I wish the waiter didn't say a thing
Everything we ordered was delicious! Small space, but we got a good table.
Overall the experience was good until we received the check that contained two errors (in favor of the restaurant). We had it corrected, but it came back wrong again, we had it corrected a second time, and it was still wrong. The waiter was very apologetic, but that should not have happened ...... the last error, I took out of the tip rather than waste time again!
Wonderful gem on the upper east side. Lovely food and good service.
the menu on line is different from the one at the restaurant, prices have gone up in the past year, so the value has gone down. waiters are very nice but very rigid when you ask them about some dishes that appear on the on line but not at the restaurant
Wonderful local restaurant. Friendly service. Excellent food.
My husband and I took a relative there for his birthday. We love the location and the service at Luna Rossa. The place is a little too cozy for my liking, but they make it work. We were all pleased with our meal, but I wouldn't order the braised lamb shank again. It was a little too fatty and lacked flavor. My husband's pasta and our guest's bouillabaisse was excellent. All in all, it was a good experience.
Wonderful service & atmosphere. Food is outstanding!
