    Great to be back in the best restaurant in Hertford with good friends. Enjoyed the set lunch - the shepherds’ pie on a cold wet day accompanied by the house red was just right!

    This was a celebration for a party of 5: reserved several weeks ago Unfortunately, we were seated on a small table for 4 people that I was not happy with. The seating would have been tight and table was already near full with water and cutlery. Not happy. Long story short we were moved to another table for 4 but there was ample room for another setting. The table are really close together and the volume at one point was really loud so we couldn’t hear each other talking. The service was good although sometimes our conversations were interrupted by service but Aubrey this cannot be helped? Some of my party was late (due to queuing in the car park) but the staff were really good about this…thank you All that said the menu was interesting and the food was incredibly tasty and the presentation was easy on the eye. I had a mutton shepherds pie incredibly delicious. I would go back but not on a Friday evening it was too busy Thank you

    We both had the fish and chips, and they were absolutely delicious. I was with my 6 year old grandson, and the waitress was so kind and attentive to him. The place was very busy, with a great atmosphere. I would definitely recommend it!

    Once again a fantastic evening of wonderful good,great wine and fantastic device from the minute we walked In to the moment we walked out. Good value too. Can’t wait to go back. Thank you for a lovely evening
