Madhu's won Best UK Restaurant at the 2004 Cobra Good Curry Awards.
Amazing food back again soon fish aloo tiki chaart and lamb chops where a super hit
Another great meal with friends here. Good service and looked after by Kush and his team.
Food is good taste
IT NEED IMPROVEMNTS
After paying bill other restautants waiters bring mint cholates, it was not done
Waiter gone inside he did greet when we leaving
Price hike is a negative. They are probably getting too expensive to be a regular experience nowadays
We got to the restaurant and the young lady first advised us we were at the wrong place, she told us that we had come to Southall Road and not South Road, She was incorrect anyway after sorting that out she said we had no booking even though I had an email confirmation. She then told us it was ok as they had spare tables. We have historically come here a lot and the staff are normally great. but have to say the staff did not have a clue and made the experience a little poor. Drinks took to long to come and when they did they came one at a time. I would come back but I'm hoping the current staff are not. Also you cannot place a £1 charitable contribution to peoples bill without asking. Its not the quantum but the principle.
Great food but a few more options would have been nice
We had a great time, celebrating my wife's birthday. Service was great and we enjoyed the food.
One of my favourites although much prefer the old menu. However being regulars then the chefs will make us some of the classic dishes we have enjoyed over the years
the food was awful, we ordered butter chicken and lamb chops, tasted like the meat had been boiled and spices added on top, the manager said it was Madhus 30 year recipe
Service and ambiance far nicer than many Indian restaurants. We were given complementary dessert which was much appreciated.
Unfortunately the food was distinctly average. We have had tasters before from Madhus at a separate event and really enjoyed it, this didn't seem to be the same chefs.
It left us with a very bad stomach the next day.
Superb food and service
We did not get a very good table and I think we were by cleaning products as I could smell it. Service was very slow.
We booked this as a last minute post-pantomine dinner and were very pleasantly surprised. The food was all consistently delicious. I’ll definitely return and will recommend to my friends.
Great food and Service as every. We were there for our Company Christmas Party and everyone enjoyed the evening thoroughly
Magnificent food. And great service. Manager was especially helpful.
It is our third time at mandhu we travel from Bracknell in berks and always have a lovely meal; the service is phenomenal food outstanding a great place, not the cheapest but by far the best we have found. They also have a five-star hygiene rating.
Unfortunately the food was by far the worst Indian food I’ve ever had. Some of it I struggled to eat. I would not recommend it at all!
Madhu’s used to be the place to go in southhall but seems to have fallen from grace. Managed to get a reservation for peak time on a Saturday evening, 2 hours before with little problem. Server was initially very courteous and allowed me to taste one of the beers which was appreciated.
The food, however, was disappointing. The chilli paneer tasted like a sweet and sour Chinese dish rather than Indian and the chaat was fairly bland. The lamb chops, however were pleasant. For main we just had daal which was ok - again a little bland - and a vegetarian main that was incredibly greasy. Naan was also not great.
Once we’d finished, we waited almost 10 minutes for dirty plates to be cleared notwithstanding the fact that there was only one table downstairs occupied: staff appeared to have disappeared. Were then given ‘wet towels’ to refresh - unfortunately mine wasn’t wet - had obviously been on the side for so Long and had completely dried up.
Overall, a pretty disappointing experience given the price paid - won’t be returning any time soon.
Food was hopeless, no taste for someone who really knows what good food is about. It may cater to the larger British audience who hardly care about taste but not to someone who really likes proper Indian food.
Very nice food and service
Bland versions of Panjabi classics. Dhall makati was the highlight, breads good and pickles. Poppadoms overcooked and everything else good ingredients, well cooked BUT needed a good pinch of garam marsala and some chilli. Drinks are expensive. Service really good but will never make up for the food which one really expects to be spicy in Southall.
Madhus used to be the restaurant I’d pick over any other Indian restaurant but on this visit o can’t say I was impressed. Whilst it was lovely and quiet as we came in late on a week day (place is usually so noisy when it’s packed), the food left much to be desired. Most restaurants have moved with the times and offer a good selection of vegan options or have items that are adaptable, I have to eat the same thing, which is fried Okra as it’s the only item that is suitable. There are lots of items on their menus that if just one ingredient was ommited (ghee), they could offer it as a vegan meal. My husband said his mixed grill was smaller than before and our friends curry was just average tasting. We didn’t really eat a lot for the hefty bill price. I’m fined at another local restaurant nearby and their vegan options were great, also my husband said this meat dishes were tasty and had a much larger mixed grill. Madhus need a little improving and definitely needs to move with the times and demand for vegan food.
I first went to Madhus 10 years ago and was very pleasantly surprised. This was the first time since my first visit and it is no longer as good in pretty much all respects. The nice crisp white table cloths have been replaced by granite tables, seemingly for convenience. The acoustics in the restaurant are subsequently much worse. The food is not quite as good with too much sauce in the dishes, but overall it was still pretty good. The prices however have gone up so this is no longer a very reasonably priced restaurant as in the past. I do not know if the chef and management have changed, but it does feel like a different restaurant altogether.
Very Good Ambience and good service. Had an issue with one of the starters; was corrected immediately by the staff.
Limited items in menu - but good taste overall.
As always exceptional food, went with my wife and parents, excellent tandoori food, the mixed grill is brilliant, main curries delicious.
Not happy with spirit menu,as nothing printed given with drinks and cost etc??
Fish as starter was not great, then we had toget chillier paneer as second as didn't enjoy fish.
Daal makhni was perfect but again bhindi masala had too many onions, green peppers instead of bhindi,so it was mixed feelings, overall service was good, but food so so..
Good food, nice restaurant to have business conversation!
We are lapsed regulars and now we are wondering why. Great food- rich, spicy flavours without resorting to intense heat. It's different to your standard Indian and for us well worth the trip from Ealing. It won't be so long till we are back again.
Regulars here and nice to see the managers acknowledging it. Always good food, which is why we return over and over again
Good service and food was excellent.
Very nice. Tasty. Good portions. Excellent relaxed service.
A family oriented decent restaurant not too expensive and the right ambiance to have a good conversation amoungst friends.
Not many options for children with low tolerance to spice other than plain popadums and naan breads.
The peshwari naan was delicious
Great Food and amazing service I wouldn't personally go anywhere else.
The food here is really interesting and of exceptional quality. The staff were very friendly and helpful from the moment we walked in until we left. We were just meeting another couple for a Monday night dinner and a chat, but the food and the service made it feel like a more special occasion than that. We'd wholeheartedly recommend it.
Very well trained and smart staff. Excellent service throughout our visit. Only issue was with the kebabs that we ordered for starters. They were a bit dry , can't say they were bad hence didn't mention anything at the time but we did mention it before we left. Manager said we could have returned it and order something else in its place but they were not bad so we didn't return them. Keep up the good service.
Best authentic Punjabi Indian cousin in London. The service is helpful friendly and knowledgable about the food being served .
It’s becoming a destination restaurant for friends and work colleagues seeking an authentic Punjabi food in a welcoming and nice environment.
excellent night out. the staff were amazing and the food was great.
One of our favourite restaurants - excellent food and service.
They served me cold food Gobi Manchuri and chilli chicken and they took it from table and heated up in microwave or somthing and they bring it back after 20 min. Same food....
