Another beautiful dinner for four at the Madhuwan. We loved the Momo's and the Tandoori chicken. The pace of the meal was great - no rush and plenty of time to enjoy each course.
Outstanding food but this time poor service. They were short staffed, which is not ideal for Valentine's night. However, they were very apologetic and honest about why service was slow. Lighting was very bright, some down lights pointing directly in your face. Not romantic at all. That said, their food is always worth the few extra pounds it costs on your purse and waistline.
Open table failed to inform me that the restaurant was in fact closed for kitchen refurbishment. Highly annoyed. How difficult can it be to keep abreast of what’s happening in a restaurant ?
Always delicious food at Madhuwan, Bromley. The best Indian restaurant I've tried in the area. Always worth a special trip. Friendly and efficient service. Wonderful!
Oh dear, how the chef has pandered to local Downham tastes. Instead of spicy and contrasting food flavours we were offered bland fayre whether it was chicken or lamb. How can a tomato and cumin seasoning be bland?
The ambiance was splendid as ever but the fresh herb and spice zing that so brought this restaurant to the fore was absent. Maybe the chef had an off day or maybe simple economics has moved Madhuwan from culinary to post-pub food.
Great food again at this local Indian restaurant. Service and food were amazing.
Spicey despite being asked for mild, 2 slices of thin lamb and a lot of sauce for a £12.95 chef special. Poorly sized portions. Vegetables were microwaved and not fresh.
Not accepting Amex
The food was disappointing. Normally it is pretty good. When we mentioned this to the waiter (deliberately after we had paid the bill, as we didn't want to appear as trying to get some money knocked off) he ignored us. Senior waiting staff seemed to be in hiding...
Absolutely lovely! It was my husband's birthday and we both had a great meal, perfect service and the atmosphere was very romantic. Would highly recommend and will be definately be going back with friends and family.
Love the booth tables and the food is delicately delicious. An evening of excellent service and exquisite dining.
I had an excellent first impression. I liked the cosy intimate atmosphere of our dining area. I also appreciated the service for the most part. However, they mixed up my order with my date's order. We ordered a similar dish but I asked for mine to be extra spicy. Mine was spicy but his was extra spicy.
Unfortunately, we didn't realise this till the end when he ate what I couldn't finish. We told our waiter and all he said was... ''oh well, you've already finished it now so.. what?''.
A sincere apology for the mix-up would have been appreciated. I would eat there again, but if such should happen again, I will be less inclined to accept such an insincere response. I recommend you make sure your order is right.
Fabulous food -exquisitely cooked and presented. Extremely polite staff. Loved the booths.
Food here is delicious. I cannot imagine you will be disappointed if you try it. Staff are friendly and the service is good. Decor is good too. If you live anywhere nearby or within a drive it is worth it.
We went for a date night on a Wednesday evening, the restaurant was pretty quiet with only a few other tables occupied. The staff there were very helpful and attentive. As with previous visits (although not for quite a long time) the decor and ambience was very pleasing. We did think that the food was slightly below par from compared to previous experiences, although it was still very good with large portions. The cost was slightly more than we were anticipating although we did order enough food to warrant taking some back home with us, so perhaps we over ordered.
As always the perfect dining experience. great, friendly staff and amazing food, we are regulars!
Restaurant recommended by a friend. Décor is different and interesting and staff friendly and attentive. But felt this was no better than any average curry house for the food. Seemed quite pricy - £93 for 3 people with only a couple of beers.
Really nice food. Wasnt a very busy evening although it was a Wednesday. Food and drinks for 2 came to 60 quid so a little expensive but much better than you're average takeout
The food was fantastic and service felt personal. Very good indeed. Not much choice of cocktail but the wine selection was ok
A really amazing experience, food was incredible, probably the best I have eaten!! Staff were attentive and made sure we had everything we needed/ wanted, including offering us free drinks at the end of the meal!! We will definitely be back!! Thank you so much Madhuwan
I've eaten at Madhuwan a few times and will choose to go there for any special occasion. The food is delicious.
Whenever I have been there, however, there have been a couple of large groups which tend to slow the food down.
First visited this wonderful restaurant 2 years ago and thrilled that its excellence has been maintained. Food gloriously delicious and beautifully presented - so delicate to the digestion as well !! The service was outstandingly polite and helpful as well as being discreet.
We have taken a few friends to Madhuwan and we have always been very impressed with the food, presentation and attentive staff and not rushed at all
Second time at this fantastic restaurant , top food, great staff, a very enjoyable evening.
Took some friends on a Saturday evening, food was excellent plus the service and we weren't rushed at all
From the outside, the place doesn't look much; inside, it's got a red and black theme going on, with lots of booths, creating nicely secluded tables. The service was courteous and prompt, and the food was good, and included several dishes I don't think I've seen elsewhere. All in all, a very enjoyable evening.
Went out for a catch up with some friends and our table was perfect - we were sitting in a booth. We found they had a great wine selection and the choices on the menu was good.
We all selected something different and the portions were generous.
All round very tasty good.
The best curry house in the area by far. Will definitely be recommending this restaurant to all my friends. Great night. Amazing food.perfect atmosphere.
I have been to Madhuan many times. This time was a group dinner for a birthday. It was absolutely delicious as always. Best Indian food by far in my opinion of any restaurant around. I highly recommend the lamb shank special.
Always very prompt good service.
We celebrated our daughter's 18th Birthday dinner here, wanting to try somewhere new after regular visits to nearer Indian restaurants in the Bromley & Orpington area. Going a couple miles past Bromley centre towards Catford, this restaurant is perhaps not placed in the most happening of locations but stepping inside was delightful. Friendly welcoming staff ensured that we enjoyed the relaxing ambient decor, together with freshly prepared delicious food. The only small gripe was that three rowdy people were speaking colourfully and noisily - this should have been dealt straight away..
The Madhuwan has managed to capture an intimate atmosphere whilst also accommodating larger groups of people. We were served by very attentive staff and made welcome. The food was excellent with a very varied menu. I would suggest that it could have been a little better if the food was served on hot trays as it did start to get cold by the time we finished. Other than that we had a lovely evening dining with friends in a restaurant where we were able to hear each others conversations. I have recommended the Madhuwan to other friends.
We had travelled from East London as part of a group booking on a Sunday evening . From the moment we walked into the restaurant we were in awe of the decor and the setting. The restaurant resembled those that can be found in the West End, namely, Mayfair.
The execution of the food was brilliant complemented by pleasant and friendly staff. The food was of superior quality and could not be faulted in any way.
Overall, a fantastic dining experience tucked away in the heart of Bromley. I would highly recommend a visit, you will not be disappointed.
I booked Maduwan by accident when another local restaurant proved impossible to reach by phone or the internet but I'm glad for the accident.
The food, the service and the decor were fantastic and could not be faulted. We were even offered free drinks at the end of our meal.
Two minor things - one of our party thought the service was a little slow - but he has been known to be impatient. The other thing was that one of the waitresses was smoking outside the front door when we arrived which I found a bit offputting.
Wonderful innovative food, great cosy atmosphere and attentive staff. would thoroughly recommend.
Been here a few times so expectations are always high- wasnt too busy when we arrived but the ambiance of the venue and the booths make it feel intimate and cosy for the 2 of us anyway. Food was top notch again and service its usual high standards.
Will return and gladly recommend
Good value, great service and exceptional food. I have visited this restaurant several times and it is always a great night out
Amazing place. I went there for the first time and was very pleasantly surprised. Being Indian , I really crave for the authentic Indian food and this place had a very nice flavor to the food.
Very good ambience as well. Service was quick.
Great food, more interesting options and more stylish decor than your average Indian restaurant. Shame it wasn't busy on a Wednesday night - it deserves to be. Great service, would go back.
Would highly recommend this place as the food was just amazing. Service was a little slow but wouldn't put me off going again.
Great value too.
Had a wonderful meal again at Madhuwan. Couldn't fault anything. I absolutely love the booths!
I always enjoy my curry, and when Madhuwan was recommended by a friend, I was skeptical when he said it was the best in Bromley according to Trip Advisor. How wrong I was to doubt him.
This was actually the second time I have visited Madhuwan (but the first time I booked on Open Table), and I must say it is the finest curry house I've been to in a long time.
I can fully recommend, Madhuwan to anyone. I went as part of a group of work colleagues, and everything was perfect. Slightly expensive, but to get this level of quality of food and service, I'm not complaining and will happily pay again.
