Spectacular view but terribly slow service. Better for drinks than food
Too cold outside
Experience was good. Lovely staff.
Great experience, however, the music was a little too loud for a lunch time.
Over priced and limited options on the menu you can have a 2/3 course set menu. However add extra surcharge on some dishes on top of the 35/45 set menu. I had a small regular rumsteak surchargewas £9. Dessert was cookie dough as one of the options. £18 Cocktails, shot of Tequila £14. Service charge £31.50. Overall we spent £50 on additional charges. I would advise going of you have deep pockets
The set up was nice however Maddisons have changed there menu to some kind of ‘set menu’ not giving you that much of an option in regards to food.
I went to Maddisons last summer and there was such a range, the food was tasty and prices were decent. Now this set menus limits you on what you can buy. You can only purchase food from the set menu and can’t have a main meal on its own.
I hope they bring the old menu which doesn’t false you to buy a starter or dessert with your main.
Great service and great food as always! We will be back soon!
I was so disappointed after my experience at Madisons last weekend. I was brought to tears by the disgusting manner of one of the hosts downstairs before even going up to the restaurant. In addition, I was so disappointed with the table they had placed us on, the layout of the chairs clearly showed that it was not an appropriate table of four and resulted in two of us facing outwards. One positive had been the waitresses who tended to our table, they were extremely friendly and welcoming. However, after my experience with a member of staff downstairs, I can safely say that I would not recommend Madisons to anyone wanting a nice and friendly atmosphere.
Worst restaurant in London.
Had a booking at 20:30 on Friday night for the RESTAURANT. Was running 10 minutes late so I decided to call them at 20:20 to tell them and see if it would still be okay to go, but when you call the restaurant you get an automatic answer saying that they only take calls from 8am to 6pm, make it make sense.
I arrived at the restaurant and the guy at the entrance (wearing a hat) tells me in a very rude way that I am late but nothing else so I thought it would be fine. When i go up, I say my name and then a waitress takes us to a lounge/bar area. Knowing that I booked for the RESTAURANT I found it a bit weird but I assumed that because they were closed for so long they decided to extend the restaurant area. The waiter arrives and tells me that i cannot order food in the lounge area, only snacks (i booked for the restaurant). I asked for some Arranccini and he tells me that the restaurant is too full and he cannot guarantee me that I will get them. Never heard that in my life. We could only order a very basic Italian Charcuterie. In the meantime, I receive an e-mail from Open table notifying me that I didn't attend my reservation at Madisons. (????) When the bill arrived, they wanted to charge us 20 pounds per person for "entertainement". Entertainement?
First of all, I booked for the restaurant, not the lounge area and second of all, there is absolutely nothing to justify a 20 pounds fee, there's no heater, no performance, and we can't even order the snacks that are supposedly on the menu.
What happen is that they gave my table to someone else as I was late but nobody made me aware of it when I arrived, you can't even call the restaurant so they can at least let you know that if you arrived late they give your table to someone else, which would be understandable but I also have the right to know.
This is by far the worst experience I had in a restaurant. Please, save your money and your time.
Put us on a table in the walkway without a heater or a view and we’re unable to move us and didn’t remember to bring us blankets etc. Food was alright but main came out before I had finished my starter.
The person on the door was soooo rude. Telling you to do this and do that. Awful welcome that Ruined our experience. Food was poor. Pre served, dry and tasteless. Definitely not fresh. Won’t return. Don’t see the point of
Lovely atmosphere and food.
One member of staff at the bottom of the lift on our arrival was rude not helpful and very abrupt this was also noted by other guests who complained about him on way up in the life... he had a really bad attitude.
Disappointing as this was our first lunch out since lockdown and would of liked a warm welcoming.
We were on the roof terrace, weather was perfect. Excellent food, friendly and helpful staff, would recommend.
Loved the ambiance and service was great but the food could’ve been much better for a beautiful restaurant as such...
I took my partner there for his birthday on Monday and was very disappointed. I was told good things about madison but was incredibly disappointed. I had booked a table for food so that we could look on the menu and decide if we wanted to eat there or just have a drink and enjoy the view. It was a surprise so looking at the menus before hand wasn’t an option.
When we arrived and were seated we were disappointed to find the menu was very limited and only had steak or one fish dish. Nothing we fancied so decided to just have a drink. The range of drinks, especially cocktails, left a lot to be desired as well. The only ‘classic’ cocktail on the ‘classic’ cocktails being a pornstar martini? The menu overall was very poor and not what I expected and was left embarrassed as I’d expected so much more.
Our experience unfortunately did not get better from there. After informing our server that we would not be eating but just having a drink I was told we would therefore have to move. I’m unsure why as we had booked the 2 hour time slot and wether I ate or not I don’t see how that effected my ability to sit at the table. I was informed we needed to move on to the open terrace to have a drink. It was a pleasantly hot day which was good but neither of us wanted to sit in the direct sun so would have rather stayed where we were but this wasn’t an option. We were then briskly moved and our bill for the drinks was given to us and I wasn’t expecting to have to pay till the end but the card machine was brought over so I did.
I understand things might be different due to the current restrictions but the service was incredibly poor. We were not the only people who were asked to move from tables by servers as we observed this happen to another couple so this was not a one off.
I don’t normally complain but I had spent time planning a pleasant day for my partner and was left embarrassed and disappointed at the experience. I would not recommend Madison to anyone.
Our food took hours to get two courses. When the main course turned up it was cold and inedible so we had to send it back. The ambiance is nice, but the price and quality of food and the service is ridiculous. Would not recommend for dining at all!
So so amazing
Great Saturday lunch on the roof top!
Good service and seating. With new guidelines
Well after pre booking we had to sit in a Q with everyone who just was a walk in ! Reservation was for 9:30 didn’t end up eating until 11pm rude staff unhelpful they gave my table away in front off me to another two people who hadn’t even booked then after standing for 18 mins we got take to a dark terrace with no heating or lights to be told enjoy our drinks to which we had booked dinner and we can eat in the dark if we wish to ! After being annoyed and explained the staff rolled there eyes and the manager had to stop what he was doing and addressed the issue even that was forced we then got moved eventually to a heated seat area for drinks until they got us a table then after 20mins we got finally moved to the table we should have had at the begging bare in mind arrived 9:15 it’s now 10:45 finally ordered food and ate by 11:43pm food was ok nothing amazing no social distancing at all on our way out was told to wear our masks which we just about to put on but if your a man with Desinger duffel coat on please note they will be shoved in the life with you with no mask on and there friends with no masks as the security don’t seem to mind if your a FELLA with no mask on also will allow overly drunk people to fall over you and be to close to you even when you ask for distance I wouldn’t come back highly disappointed will never return
Drinks with friends
a lovely day out with a wonderful view of St Pauls
The staff were attentive and asked if we needed more drinks without us having to ask.
I'd stick to drinks only in the future.
Food was delicious Especially liked chicken burger
Great views of St Paul's, very nice food and service. Well worth a visit.
We ordered the sunday roast. The meat was not done as i had requested and was chewy. Had to leave half of the portion as it was not edible. I did raise it to the serving team as well however there was no action by them.
Rest of the food was good, ambience was nice. Music promised was Soul as it was Soul Sunday, but the musician was playing chart numbers only.
Both food and service were amazing! Would definitely return.
An excellent experience
Very in exciting. Side orders arrived after main dish was eaten but great waiter
Really cute belated birthday dinner. They were accommodating and our waiter Ricardo was lovely! We’ve been before and will of course be back. Thanks again!
Amazing - was literally a perfect evening- every song was I loved - was constantly shazaming them!
Just the right amount of noise and buzz level in the room - can’t wait to go back!
Great location, excellent service, modern, cozy rooftop. Steak was good 👍
Excellent experience will definitely go again! Food and ambience was lovely, perfect for our anniversary!
Really nice time with my partner. Atmosphere was good had live music and good price for everything we got. Food was cooked to perfection
Had an amazing time great staff, food & the music was brilliant. Definitely recommend 👍🏻
Served by Cande, he looked after us very well and made sure we had everything we needed. Food was great and live music (Aidan Martin) that night was amazing!
Love love love Madison!
Second time here - food was amazing, as was the service, especially from Deivid. We also didn’t realise there would be live music, which was just the right vibe for the restaurant. Was a bit worried thinking the meal would be overshadowed by this but they were incredible and genuinely made the evening so special.
100% would recommend for either a casual or fancy date - works either way!
Very nice location and experience in general, the bar-restaurant lacks of decoration and green. The waiters/waitresses are great and very polite but they insist on getting another plate or drink all the time. In such a way that makes you feel uncomfortable.
The whole experience was beautiful I would definitely recommend
