We were sitting outside on the terrace with beautiful views of the River Thames.
Nachos starter a bit overpriced at the same price as a main meal. Otherwise good value and friendly staff.
Lovely food, great service and value for money. They have all things in place for social distancing. Not a huge selection for vegans/vegetarians but what they did have was tasty
Nice choice of food in portions that are just right in terms of size.
Great service, we ate overlooking the river which was a lovely setting. Great set up with app for ordering in Covid times as well as plenty of staff to help. Delicious chicken burgers (pricey normally but we had the eat out help out discount) and great kids meal too.
Would recommend it!
Lovely little Pub. Greeted on arrival, delicious food. Our server Manos was courteous and and had a great knowledge of the Menu. Our first visit and we can’t wait to return.
What a mixed bag the Magpie is. This is my third visit post lockdown and on a busy Saturday afternoon the experience was not as good as midweek. The front of house staff do their best, but are rushed off their feet when busy. This time my steak was cold, last time it was perfect. My friend's chicken was overcooked and you still can't get the prices on the menu to be same as the final bill!
Food was limited and not that good horrible deep fried onion rings with my stake sandwich. Very over priced food and £9!! for a glass of wine.
Decent food- not going to set the world on fire but nice enough. Possibly a little over priced for the product. Atmosphere and service always very good. Nightmare having to use their app to order everything when they also provide table service. App didn't work so ended up having to use the table service anyway. They also have only had 1 beer on tap for the past 3 weeks.
Lovely location. Not a big menu but enough to choose from. Portions were reasonable size. Had to order ourselves via an app. It was a bit tricky but we got there in the end.
The food at The Magpie is always worth a trip. The roasts are exceptional. We were quickly seen to and looked after by wait staff and did not have to wait for food. It's so lovely to sit by the river and eat delicious food with good wine. what more could you ask for?!
oh. and it's dog friendly. perfect.
Great staff, lovely food.
The staff were very accommodating. They found us a seat in the bar so our dog could join us.
Food was very tasty.
Would definitely go there again.
Lovely, spaced out area in the garden overlooking the Thames. 10/10 food and staff were really happy and helpful!
Great welcome and made to feel safe with their set up that worked a treat ordering via the app and table service
We were so impressed everything was just perfect. Setting atmosphere service and food was absolutely delicious. We will definitely be going back and recommending it to friends and family.
We live in Shepperton and can’t believe we had never gone here before.
Lovely evening and liked ordering via the app! More menu choice needed tho- not much to choose from at all.
No healthy food choices. Food greasy, left most of it. Service dreadful. Left at table, no drink offer and waited ages for waitress. Another couple arrived and left without being weed as they god fed up with waiting. I just kept getting up and asking other staff to gain attention.
Perfect spot for lunch in the sun. A few beers and a fish finger sandwich, delicious. Staff were friendly and efficient, we'll definitely be back for more.
Excellent organisation, safety and service. Basic food
Menu options limited but good atmosphere and lovely staff. Will go back as nice and local.
The staff were really welcoming and helpful and the new procedures are clearly working well. The food was very nice, served promptly and in a beautiful riverside location in the open air.
We celebrated a birthday party and the service and drinks was really good.
Excellent service. Shame about the 10pm closing time Sun-Friday but otherwise an outstanding service and it’s clear the pub take customer welfare very seriously.
The staff worked very hard with the new COVID19 measures/restrictions but the food was not as good as other times I have visited and a very limited menu, I guess due to the current situation. Service was great and they were very helpful
Pub was not ready to open:
We were initally impressed with how they had prepared the tables with a sign saying the table had been cleaned and was ready to use but then a young couple decided to move from the table they had initially chosen for another one and a new set of diners arrived and were shown to the 'used / unprepared table'.
Took ages to get a drink as they didn't have anything I wanted but didn't actually know what they did have! I wanted a nice cold pint of lager or dry white wine, nothing out of the ordinary but they had no lager or beer on draft and only 3 choices of white wine out of approx 8 on the menu and the wine was warm. After telling me they had no draft lager (I don't like bottles as I find them too sweet) I asked what wine they had and off he went to find out but while waiting for the menu he served another table who had arrived 5 minutes or so after us and while they and my husband were enjoying their drinks I had to wait a further ten minutes before I got mine.
Basic food menu which was understandable, we ordered a beef burger and butter chicken burger and both were burnt, dry and inedible. The beef burger had 2 tiny tasteless, processed, cheap burgers. A well known company who makes frozen burgers are better quality than these and they're not great!
We spent about £60 and left as soon as we could - waste of money. Really sad we chose this pub as our first pub to eat at after months of 'stuckathome'.
Brilliant food and good service. Nice view looking over the river.
Very limited choice of vegetarian and fish options. Menu has been the same for many months now. Always feels like this venue misses an opportunity; great location and great upstairs space, which seldom seems to be used.
Booking confirmed online and over the phone. When we arrived they were closed. Managed to speak with someone who confirmed the kitchen was closed until that evening due to a lift replacement but the bar would be opening shortly which was of no help to us.
There was some confusion with were we where seated, we initially went up stairs (my mother has difficulty walking, and uses a walking stick so stairs are difficult) only to be told go downstairs, which we managed to go down only to be told our table was back upstairs! So I did object. Apart from that the food was good and service attentive.
Would have given more stars if there hadn’t been a communication failure between front of house and kitchen. Our order didn’t get through to the kitchen so we had to wait a very long time before the error was realised. Apologies were made but it rather spoiled our experience, especially with a four year-old who became very restless.
Always amazing food , very welcoming atmospher with nice staff.
I am a regular glf also diary always food for me .fresh from the market .
Pleasant birthday lunch in a lovely setting by the Thames. Worth a visit for sure. Manager very personable and attentive.
The staff were fantastic. Food was tasty too
Very good local pub restaurant
Good choices of foods n drinks
Game Taster menu. We had a great evening with lots of laughs including with our French waiter. The food was excellent.
Fantastic place on the river, very helpful and smily staff.
Very tasty Vegan fish & Chips and Vegan Burger
We were the only people in the restaurant which was initially worrying. However, the table was well positioned in the window with a view of the river, the service was excellent, and the food was impressive for a pub restaurant. The fish of the day was outstanding. The homemade pie was delicious and the prawn linguine cooked to perfection. Altogether a very enjoyable evening, with attentive staff, and outstanding food. Will definitely return.
Booked a table in the restaurant on Saturday early evening as we were going to a concert but were told on arrival we had to eat in the bar which was noisy with unruly kids. White wine arrived with ice cubes in it which I hadn’t asked for or expected. Food was pretty average. We won’t be going back anytime soon.
Great food , very attentive and welcoming staff. Great food and have already recommended it to friends.
beautiful food with a beautiful view
Have not been more over a year because it had slightly gone downhill nothing really has changed, menu not enough choice they would do better by introducing a lunchtime menu, drinks have gone up.
Very quiet for a Saturday lunchtime. Staff ok but when I asked what the difference between fish and chips and vegan fish and chips no one knew and didn't offer to go and find out.
Will not be going back anytime soon.
