Great atmosphere great food staff friendly not too noisy beer great , wish it was my local I would love to go more often.

Welcoming on arrival and service friendly and prompt. However, the table felt sticky, the food was mediocre for the price and the toilets were dirty. A bit of hygiene control needed.

Lovely food, great beer and staff who were attentive, friendly and very Covid safe.

It was the night before lockdown.
I felt like the food was average and they were just using things up.
It was quiz night and that was fun.
The French manager was very nice and gave good service

We were seated quickly and it was a lovely atmosphere. I did have a problem with my meal, but the manager efficiently rectified the problem with no fuss and we enjoyed our meal. I did think the food was slightly highly priced for what it was, but it was hot and tasty so couldn't mark them too harshly. I look forward to going back another time (Covid permitting!).

A warm welcome, good real ales and well cooked fish and chips. All you need from a good pub.

Great place to have a spot of lunch or a Sunday roast and a pint. Amazing service. Food was overall good but the beef was a tad fatty if I have to find 1 problem. Would visit again

Awful!! Cold Sunday roast badly presented the child's meal was overcooked dry chicken and raw greens

Its a lovely pub which we come to quite often . Its a shame that you only accept card payment ( many places since covid accept cash .

Came again for drinks with friends, it was really good. It was reasonably busy but the staff were still attentive and friendly. Great pub, would recommend

Marvellous view and great. All staff are friendly and attentive. Dennis in particular is excellent.

Great pub, good price, just had drinks. Couldn’t give the full 5 stars for service as had to repeatedly ask for drinks and at one point asked 3 times but no order taken, but I appreciate it’s difficult at the moment with table service and the current restrictions. Guidelines being well followed and feels safe, will be coming back.

Waited a while to have our order taken and although the burger was nice, it looked lost on the plate with only a few chips and no salad or coleslaw. £14 is a bit pricey for just a burger and a few chips. Beer was nice but having been here a few times before I don’t think I’d be back.

The food was very good and Dennis was a very attentive waiter. He gets five stars 🌟

I don’t understand why people are moaning about the service charge? The staff are on minimum wage and they provide an excellent friendly service in a worldwide pandemic!

Food so so with poor roast meat quality..Hefty service charge which I wasn't made aware of..Unusual outside of central London..Paid it since the industry is suffering,but probably will only drink there again..Would advice the pub chains to get rid of service charges or their business will suffer..Remember you don't pay extra for food at the supermarket because it's in a trendy area !

The staff are the ones who make this restaurant. Will return as they are so good - and the portion sizes are good too!

Despite specials being shown on the website menu they are not available. This leaves only two veggie options on the menu, one of which is the burger. Unfortunately as with many pubs now the veggie patty is a meat substitute, Great for meat eaters who want to go veggie, but not for vegetarians who just don't like meat. What is it with this trend?

Disappointing menu now

It was great to get back to the Magpie after the lockdowns earlier in the year. It's always been a lovely pub, and it was pleasing to see they've got themselves really well set up to follow all the current Covid rules. The food's still great, the staff are friendly, and it's a pleasure to visit.

Lunchtime menu was absolutely spot on. More than happy with the food and service.

Excellent booking process, easy to follow instructions on arrival, friendly and efficient staff, and a nice setting for a catch up with a friend.

Really like the people at the Pub, and nice pub, but on this occasion was let down by the food being luke warm at best, most cold if I'm honest. Sadly the potatoes weren't crispy, and the little sauce-dishes of gravy had a skin on the gravy, that was how long they had been sitting at the pass (I suspect). Not the lovely Sunday lunch we hoped for on a windy autumnal day. I confess I was excited at the thought of the lunch, (as I had raved to my friend about it) but was disappointed with the reality on this occasion.

Had lovely service from the whole team, Becky was very attentive and helpful, Manos, Bevan and the lady who used to work at as a Cabin crew were all so lovely and helpful explaining all the new changes and system.

It is a lovely pub restaurant with fantastic river views. It is definitely more on the expensive side of pub grub but the food was delicious. I would see dining here as a treat. Atmosphere was great and the staff were brilliant. The staff elevates this pub from many of the others in this area. It is a favourite hangout :o)

Very disappointed, had telephoned in advance of booking to check gluten free availability.
We were seated in a dark corner and forgotten, very slow before we got a drink then menus had only a veg curry that was gluten free , so I asked waiter that I had spoken to on phone that there was online a steak & chips option gluten free.
He said he can arrange that but would take 10 minutes longer to cook separately, that was ok
BUT our other 3 meals were Luke warm and quite tasteless.
We asked for another drink when meals arrived and had to call waiter as these had been forgotten and we had almost finished meals by then
