"We are two food and wine loving French New Yorkers who are bringing an exciting restaurant to Harlem, one of the most beautiful neighborhoods in the borough."
I always love the Fried Oysters at this restaurant and last night was no exception. Everything was great. Look forward to going again.
The food was good, the service friendly and excellent. We were seated outside as requested but subjected to a very loud group of people. Also a rat!
Came to visit . Very unsettling and not the fault of the restaurant.
Very good food and nice environment! Service a little slow but was ok.
If you're looking for a quiet place, check first to see if they'll have live music. As enjoyable as both the meal and music were, the room was just a little too loud for catching up with an old friend.
Lovely atmosphere, delicious food. Server Gabriella was outstanding- friendly, knowledgeable and capable.
Delicious food as always! This is my go-to spot for top of the line French dishes.
Great ambiance, music, food and service in the heart of Harlem
This could have been a great meal, but the waiter did not serve our food until we had waited over 45 minutes. When it came, it was obvious that the food was ready a long time previously and had sat under a heat lamp for too long. The duck was dry, the fish was dry, and only the stews (coq au vin and mussels) were still quite good. Everything would have been excellent if the waiter had brought us our food as soon as it was ready.
Love the restaurant but service was slow unfortunately. Love the waiters and food.
Good date night. Will return.
Food was amazing, ambience awesome and service great. Disappointed that they ran out of fois gras but we loved this place. No pretensions / who would have expected a down to earth/modern vibe French restaurant in Harlem. Great job - cannot wait to visit again!
We just stopped in for brunch, everything was fine. Bloodys were strong and tasty, dishes were better than average, coffee was good. The day was warm, so all the windows/doors were open, and the main room was comfortable.
It was a quick meal, so not much else to say. Service was efficient and polite.
One small thing: Open Table said there was no outdoor dining, but there was, there were two street sheds, only one of which was in use.
It was ok. Novice server. 20 minutes wait for lemon slices. Flies everywhere. Food tasty.
The wait staff needs to learn how to properly coarse their service....NOT bring EVERYTHING out at once....would help if waiters, no busboys, were doing table service. That being said, the food was very good...,,
Always consistent, always delicious, a neighborhood gem!
Music was too loud!
We had an excellent experience. The food was excellent and the menu varied and interesting. The service was excellent and well worth an extra tip. We also enjoyed the live music. We would not hesitate to return again.
I like their food, which is really delicious. The service was perfect. The price is in accord with the cuisine. I asked to lower down the level of music sound, they did without any problem. I was sitting right under the speaker. But the music is always great.
We had a wonderful brunch. Service was great (slow a few times but overall great). Our food was delicious. We came back in the evening for drinks, too.
Restaurant is extremely disheveled and dusty. Random brooms and mops were strewn about in the outdoor dining space. Would definitely benefit from a thorough deep cleaning. Overall, the uncleanliness of the establishment took away from what could have been a more positive dining experience.
It was my last dinner there before my move west. I invited a friend uptown to have dinner and it was the worst experience. They were extremely short staff but kept seating tables. It took 30 minutes before someone came to our table to greet us. It took an hour for our food. We were there for 2.5 hours and only engaged with our server 4 times. How awful? The server kept apologizing but didn't change anything. An apology with no action means NOTHING. Our food came out and it wasn't cooked properly. The steak was well-done versus medium-rare as ordered. The server kept saying, I wish I could do something. He never suggested taking off an appetizer or anything or the fact that we didn't eat the steak because it was well.
My seafood risotto was good per usual. But the experience....
It was just a mess. I wish them well — but they do not have to worry about me dining there again.
I had a great experience and truly enjoyed the drinks and fresh seafood !
My experience was ok, we waited a lot for service and our service was just ok. Nothing special. I actually expected better service than what we received. Other than it was pretty much ok.
The temperature dictated your food choice. They left the doors open so it was cold enough for me to keep my jacket on, and I ended up ordering soup just to keep warm. The chef doesn't know how to cook meat anyway but we'll done
Both steaks and sliders were cooked well done even though we asked for medium and medium rare.
Bench was uncomfortable. Food ok, waitress really nice and always available.
Amazing food! We had the foi gras, oysters, risotto & truffle Mac & cheese and everything was exceptional. Can’t wait to return!
Food was great (as usual). Service was great. And live music on Sundays!
Mainly I loved Maison Harlem because of Faz, our waiter. He was so lovely, patient, informative and fun!
The food was also yummy :)
The service was excellent at least from the young lady who served us - can't remember her name but the food was middling at best. I ordered the Branzino which was looked very good in its presentation but was utterly tasteless. Even the veggies that accompanied it were like mush. The calarmari appetizer was good but what can possibly go wrong with that anyway? Prices were typical Manhattan prices which always surprises me - after all store rents are much lower in Harlem than Midtown or Tribeca but then...
A lovely choice for outdoor dining on our anniversary. Our waiter was energetic and attentive, and the food (coq au vin, seafood pasta, and French onion soup) was outstanding.
It was great. Loved it! Definitely going back!
My wife and I love this place. Great food, great service.
What joy to be here after a year's absence. Such a welcoming place, great crowd and simply superb classic French food.
maison is the place to meet, have fun, meet and make friends and lbnl having the best food and wine. with love, J
muscles escargot great. Duck very good. fries a little soggy
Waiters seemed a little frazzled that evening, but maybe due to short staff? It’s ok because the service is otherwise always good and the food and ambiance is always excellent!!! It’s a neighborhood favorite that I frequent alot.
The places and food was amazing only thing very very loud but you can’t control ppl lol. Besides that the waitress was great food is great and the ambiance did it for me. I give this place a 10 out of 10.
Liked the place. It is pretty popular. Staff are friendly definitely recommend.
Very much average
A wonderful little French gem in Harlem. There is dining inside and out. Food is wonderful and good selection of drinks. They don't rush you so it feels like an authentic French dining experience. Enjoy!
