Every visit to Marco Polo they NEVER disappoint and this visit was another great example. They've even raised the bar on preparing and accommodating their guests for social distancing while still being able to enjoy their meal and professionalism of their staff. Thank you for NEVER Disappointing me!
Never had a bad meal here but I brought a friend who said she did not like the food when she last came 5 years prior.
Well, if she could have licked her 3 course meal plates clean she would have!! Outstanding meal.
I think my friend has had a complete change of heart when it comes to the quality of Marco Polo’s food.
When asked how she’d rate the food from 1-10 she gave it a 20. I had to agree. ( service was excellent as well)
Marco Polo is the model of consistency. They never disappoint and the food is always excellent.
Very nice dining experience in these covid times. Food was great - especially the appetizers. Service was attentive and friendly. Will definitely go again.
Customer Service was AMAZING, my entire meal was just so delicious. Definitely coming back again 😁
Our favorite neighborhood spot.
Perfect service. The sun was out and about, so they set up an umbrella for shade...we didn’t mind the sun but just the fast pace to get it up was marvelous.
Food delicious. I knew from the bread with mashed olives in olive oil the food would be top notch. Amazing cooked perfectly, temperature was perfect and came in a timely fashion.
5 star service hands down!!!
Here is as honest a REVIEW post you will get / Went here for Valentines and it was a total mess/ nightmare and management knew it and acknowledged it - Marco told us to please come back and we did . It was much better . Marco checked on us - even got the table a round of after dinner drinks - classy. The server was GIORDANO - he is the *BEST in the whole place . MUSH better ! Great dinner - Thanks
Amazing food at an amazing place with wonderful staff
Where do I start ? What was to be a romantic Valentines planned night out with reservations done in advance knowing how good/popular this place is - it ended up a NIGHTMARE. Got there at 8 to see a wall of people (atleast 30-40) waiting to be seated - like cattle ! NO room anywhere in the place so we stood out in the cold nook between door in and door out . It was 20 degree night and We stood in this tundra for 90 minutes !!!!!!!!!!!! AS we got seated at after 9:30 PM- Its as if they never dealt with a holiday or big night out. I stopped counting " We are sorry" after the 75th one....... Then the scam Pre-Fixe menu where everything had a price . Every appetizer had its OWN price as well as entree and dessert - News Flash that is NOT A PRE FIXE MENU - because a pre-fixe is where its one SET price and you choose your items A B C D . The bill came to $180 on a Pre Fixe !!!!! And what is worse is you had to choose from the horrible pre set choices on there . Its an ITALIAN PLACE! I could not order authentic Italian Food .......... thank goodness for our server who was so cool so nice and so understanding how badly the place he worked at dropped the ball and ruined MANY and I mean MANY Valentines . Its a great place but be careful the day you come - or you will find out the hard way !!!
Went for Valentine's Day been there many times before. Always a friendly atmosphere with great food. Although it was very busy we did not feel rushed at all. A definite neighborhood signature dining experience. Will always keep coming back and a definite recommendation to all.
Fabulous Valentines dinner! Everything was wonderful as usual!
FLIP FLIP FLIP
Went on Valentines Day, so figured it would be busy, but even with a 6:15pm reservation, it felt like they were in a sprint to get our table turned.
From the minute we sat down it felt rushed- so much for a nice romantic dinner! If they could have poured the entire bottle of wine we ordered into our glasses in one pour, they would have. That said, every time we took a sip or two of wine, they came over to pour a few more ounces into the glass.
The busser sighed when we asked to wrap our leftovers to go and kept bumping into us throughout the service as he took “care” of other tables. Clearly management was on everybody on the floor to flip flip flip.
They also had a very limited menu for Valentines, which was not advertised online, so really had limited choices. Normally there are some decent choices for my girlfriend who is vegetarian, but not that night.
The beet gnocchi were good, but very one-note, same for the fried artichoke app, which was basically two small artichoke halves, lightly fried, which were then, unfortunately, smothered in an aioli that diminished any crispiness from the bite.
I had the branzino, which was pretty good, but the sides of mashed potatoes and veggies were both lukewarm at best.
I really felt like they flung warmed-over food at us and counted down the clock until we asked for the check.
Can’t recommend. Wish I could.
Great ad always
As always the best experience. Terrific food and service marvelous. We love Marco polo
The service was lacking . Food was also lacking in flavor also & the temperature of the sides was lukewarm Not as good as previous Holiday.
Food and service were great. Will definitely be coming back.
Excellent food service but a bit pricey.
Marco polo is one of my favorite Italian restaurants. Service is wonderful
While the appetizers were good, the entrees were terrible. Four different pasta dishes and ALL were undercooked with NO flavor.
This is our favorite restaurant in Brooklyn and we always go there whenever we’re in town.
The food was excellent but one of use was brought the wrong main course (the halibut entree instead of bronzino) so one of us had to wait for them to bring out the correct dish ( that’s why it gets a 4 instead if a 5)
The did try to make it up by giving us limoncello after our meal, which was nice.
Restaurant has nice decor
Our meal of seafood salad, halibut special, lobster ravioli was delicious!
The ambiance would have been superb with a live perfomer or some authentic italian music in the background.
Friday night dinner while visiting Brooklyn. Service was excellent.
One entry was Branzino which was cooked and filleted perfectly.
The second entry was mussels and linguine which needed to be sent back to fully cook the noodles. Come back the second time and was fine. Ended the dinner with excellent Paolucci Sambuca.
It's an old world Italian restaurant. The food and service are both excellent! I would recommend.
As someone who loves baked clams - we received 7 baked clams that were the size of a "quarter". each clam included more breadcrumbs than clam. The past a was very good and the service. Save your money if you want baked clams.
There are many, many restaurants in the area. The fact remains that Marco Polo is the best in "fine dining" anywhere in Carroll Gardens, Brooklyn Heights and DUMBO.
The best in fine dining from Carroll Gardens to Brooklyn Heights!
The entree food was fine but not exceptional for a restaurant which sells itself on authenticity. The ‘special’ dessert of flambé banana (Definition: of food; covered with liquor and set alight briefly). and ice cream at $11 was very disappointing, this had never seen a flame! The banana tasted of poor quality plantain. A disappointing end to an unexceptional first meal in Brooklyn.
It is one of our favorite places. Great food. Lovely staff. Always a treat.
went with a reservation and was seated very quickly - was very good on quality and service
A pleasant venue for a family style lunch or dinner. A set menu on Mothers Day which was disappointing rather than a choice from the main menu and also having to order your 3 courses when ordering your appetizer/entree!
Very disappointing. Food ok but not great, service very rushed, server impatient to get order. Won’t be back.
Fine dining in Carroll Gardens! Pasta, meat, chicken, fish, I've tried it all at Marco Polo and have never been disappointed. Great wine list and a very professional staff.
This is a regular place for us to eat. They take good care of us and are willing to make changes when asked.
I had a lovely Easter dinner with my boyfriend. The Easter menu was delicious just as it always is for every holiday that I spend at the restaurant. Highly recommend!
Always a good choice!
Food was delicious as always.
Very accommodating wait staff. Pizza (although not on menu) was an excellent starter at lunch. Beet salad, hot antipasto es, seafood salad were all tasty All at
the table enjoyed the hazelnut tartuffo we shared for dessert. We all agreed , perfect place for lunch. And add the valet parking and coming here is a pleasured.
