Still up there for the best food in London but it seems that you can now wear jeans and a t shirt now which means it’s no longer an experience, more just a good dinner. Frankly we could have been in Prezzo and we felt considerably over dressed. A great shame. Fabulous service though and the food was outstanding as usual but the whole ambience was conflicted with this and far from expectations. Perhaps this was the main contributor to the recent loss of the second Michelin star.
One of life's wonderful moments. This is what dining is about. Brilliant on every level
Great service, very helpful.
Food is good, I tried the taste menu, and like it very much, especially the eggs and duck breast.
Dessert is under expectation, maybe i didn’t make the good choices.
My families and I hv a very good lunchtime there
Fantastic way to celebrate a special occasion. My husband and I both enjoyed our visit.
An outstanding and creative 2 Michelin starred restaurant. Prices are within reason for London for such a venue. Very upscale but not too stuffy. Highly recommended.
We had a very enjoyable experience with the tasting menu but three of the dishes were either over cooked, did not work and perhaps should be reconsidered with another dish
I was pleased, but they forgot it was my wife’s birthday and there was a 45 minute wait between course 4 and 5. Not impressed by that.
Lovely evening impeccable service. Presentation of the food was excellentperiod received an invitation for an unsolicited tour of the kitchen, very nice experience.
Everything was perfect on our very special lunch at the Waring's at the Berkley, staff where very attentive and professional as always, can't thank you enough, the meal was sublime and will be remembered as one of the best had so far.
Hope to join the you again soon perhaps a stay at the Berkley included with a bit of shopping on the side hear's hoping.
Thank you again for a very special experience.
Had an amazing lunch to celebrate our wedding anniversary. The food quality was fantastic and quantity of food also just right. Relaxed atmosphere and lovely staff. (We were late due to cancelled trains, but staff were very reassuring on the phone and it was no problem when we eventually did make it). Overall really enjoyable experience.
I was concerned that I was going to be disappointed as I had such high expectations.
It was amazing and better than I could have ever imagined.
Amazing experience which included a visit to the kitchen to see where that magic happens. Each and every course was spectacular!
Our annual visit to London was crowned by a visit to this fantastic restaurant. Food, wine and service were out of this world from start to finish. Food prepared with great care and diligence, taste and flavours outstanding, vast selection of wines to match , all served with love by an attentive staff.
Delicious food. Beautiful presentation.
Great service and ambiance.
Excellent meal and service from the staff at the restaurant and starting with champagne and ended with a tour of the kitchen to meet the chef. special mention to sommelier
Marcus never fails to delight with his clever food combinations and beautiful presentation which leaves you just wanting more and more.
We were now the third time in Marcus, and the food was as excellent as everytime. (we try to visit Marcus everytime, we are in London). We can only recommend it.
Incredible food! Fantastic range of dishes all exceptional in taste and presentation, everything living up to our expectations.
The service was impeccable and they were fantastic, made the evening an even more beautiful one,
Very enjoyable evening but nowhere near as good as our last visit 2-3 years ago.
Just felt that there was no real maitre d , and all a bit impersonal, a ‘conveyor belt’ experience, really.
Wine flight quantity was very mean - there were 7 of us and we were told each pairing was approx 100ml, but, after pouring our 7 glasses, there was still a lot left in the bottle that was promptly swept away! Surely, for that price, a 750ml bottle could have been shared by our table - just penny pinching.
The tasting menu was very nice, however this meal was let down by the service. We had a bottle of wine which was either corked (which is just one of those things) or generally poor. When we mentioned it, the sommelier didn't take it seriously, which was surprising considering he hadn't smelled or tasted the wine! Eventually, we were begrudgingly given a substitute wine.
I had wonderful experience and it will be in my memory forever.
Food was sublime.
The service was between perfection and annoying (too much ).
Overall 5 ⭐️.
Thank you so much for having us.
My hobby is to visit *, and * Michelin restaurants. This is how I found Marcus. The food was great, even I had special dietary requirements (vegan).
It is one of a very few Michelin star restaurants that actually you can leave after the lunch/dinner not being hungry!
The service was premium. They were extremely well prepared in advance to my visit. Highly recommended.
It is my second best from all the restaurants I visited so far.
Why not first? I feel a little bit "overserious" there. They are so much professional that I do not see any fun there. This is why they are no 2 in my ranking.
Testing menu on lunch took me three hours, while I thought I could finish in two hours.
It was not easy to find the restaurant! There are no names of the hotel and the restaurant in visible places.
There were some strange noises (drilling/construction works), but before I even asked concierge about it I noticed him calling somewhere to resolve the issue.
The staff were so attentive and kind & the food was excellent. Thanks so much for a memorable experience!
We came here to treat our work colleagues to a 2 Michelin star lunch, as they don't get to eat at alot of top end restaurants often, we all work in a Michelin restaurnt in the lake district, so we thought it would be a great treat and experience for them. Unfortunately we left very disappointment and were so excited as we look to Marcus as a figure within the industry.
Very tasty and a great for a special occasion. Lunch menu offers decent value.
I've never been for a meal where the staff have been so attentive, and made us feel like special valuable customers. Being taken to the kitchen to show us the chefs table and the chefs at work was a lovely touch. In addition the food was fantastic, would love to return.
were disappointed with the plain, insipid food they were served.
You would think an 8 course tasting menu would feature a wide variety of ingredients - sadly not with the vegetarian. Mushroom featured in 4 out of 6 savoury courses and pea purée twice. We liked the deep fried courgette flower and carrot salad but at £120 each it was underwhelming. You won't find a wine under £45 with most in excess of £75.
Service was very attentive - bordering on annoying. If a dish consists of about 6 mouthfuls surely a waiter would know not to interrupt mid fork to mouth just to top up an already half full glass. Plus topping up a glass after every sip soon means the temperature of your wine warms up. However the staff tried hard and there was clearly good communication between them.
SuggestIon: how about using vegetarians to test the whole menu rather than other chefs to test a dish.
This was our second visit to Marcus to cerebrate my birthday. A couple of weeks ago we took one of our overseas colleagues and his wife to Marcus, and we enjoyed it very much. Hence our second visit!
I booked Marcus at Berkeley for my husbands birthday as a surprise. We have dined at many Michelin star restaurants and this was one he has always wanted to experience. The team overall were attentive although we found the sommelier somewhat cold. The a la carte plates were delicious. The atmosphere & experience felt formal. Although a minor point, the other tables with Birthday celebrations received a candle/cake. This was not the case for us & this took some of the fun out of the day. Would not rush to go back & spent a lot of money on the occasion.
This twas our last day in London, we enjoy every dishes, they asked if we like to see their kitchen, really nice to see the chief and his group.
2 stars well deserved.
Food was surprising and executed to perfection. The floor was quiet and cosy.
Amazing birthday for my wife!
Disappointed. Salmon came with fish bone in it.
Overall food taste just usual. No surprise for a 2 Michelin Stars restaurant
Really nice meal, atmosphere and a small tour of the kitchen where we got to speak to chiefs and pick their brains which was really welcomed interesting. Though I was slightly disappointed at the start with the service when I asked to order wine to a lady she hurried to tell us she will send the Sommelier which never came and we then had to flag someone down again. Though this was very minor and everything else was amazing I would expect restaurants of this price and name to be more attentive. Overall very good.
Lovely food and dining experience. Merticulous attention to detail and always a pleasure eating here.
The wait staff were amazing and very attentive.
The food however was not amazing. For the amount of money you pay you expect something spectacular. The flavour combinations don’t really go. This was supposed to be a special treat for my husband and it was just a little disappointing. Marcus needs to go in and see what is being served.
Lovely setting and food!
We had the 8 course tasting menu with matching wines. It was all exceptional. Food was delicious and all courses and wine explained. Thoroughly enjoyed the experience. They take you into the kitchen too which was brilliant to see. Highly recommend for a special occaision.
best restaurant i have been to... word can not describe the food i tasted... just amazing!
My very first Michelin Experience certainly did not disappoint
