Lovely ambiance...excellent service...great menu. We enjoyed the pear endive salad....pistachio crusted tilapia (huge portion), honey glazed salmon, fabulous berries zabaglione. A lovely dining experience. Oh...forgot about the splendid special martinis...mine was Sexy Sadie and partner enjoyed Jackie O.. .yum!
John was a great server, very personable
The tuna appetizer was amazing, martinis were great, fresh wild salmon was delish, fresh vegetables were crisp to perfection, mousse was awesome. Service was very good.
First time here. Was seated as soon as we walked in. Waiter was outstanding. Martini was very good. Food rather large portions was outstanding. Looking forward to going back.
My husband and I enjoyed a date night and our waiter was fantastic! I couldn’t decide on a couple of martinis and he recommended the fig martini and it was amazing! The portobello mushroom appetizer was delicious and we loved our main courses. They gave so much food we had to take it home for lunch the next day!! We went on a recommendation of a friend and it did not disappoint!
Reasonably priced and delicious food. Charming service. Classic store front restaurant. Usually go on a Friday evening and usually not crowded. Highly recommended.
What a truly special experience. The server was the only person working all tables, bar, etc and he did a fabulous job.
The food here is always excellent. The service as well.
Always have a great time here but this was the first time to try a Rib eye Steak! The best I have ever had, hands down!!!
We went to the Martini Grill for dinner with another couple. All of us enjoyed the quality and flavor of the food. The martini menu is awesome. Our server ,Edmund, was cordial and attentive. Wonderful night our.
Love Martini Grill.
Edmund, our waiter, cant di enough to make your evening pleasant.
Food was pkentiful and delicious
Just love the salad
The drinks outstanding especially Chocolate Martini
Best place for really nice dinner or romantic night. Love it there
Mid week meal and really no complaints as everything was hit and fresh enjoyed clams pasta and sangria. Staff was very nice and if in the area I would go back.
The food was very salty and it is very much overpriced. Service was very slow, even though, for a time we were the only group in the restaurant.
Worse service ever, our waitress could not hear and messed up half of our order, my LI iced tea tasted moldy I could not drink it, the food was ok but not worth what costs, maybe if the service would have been better I would give it another chance but, no way, too aggravating!
Was absolutely fantastic from monent we walked in door. Greeted by Edmund who remembered us from our last visit.
Food was most delicious and plentiful.
Presentation was beautiful
Martinis were also superb
Most delightful evening all around
Drfinately will return 👍👍👍👍
We would definitely recommend this place. The Lobster & Shrimp risotto was delicious. My cucumber mint gin martini was fabulous. Loved the live entertainment too!
This is one of the very best dining experiences I have ever had. The food was excellent, the service fabulous, the ambiance incredible, and the music amazing. Thank you!
We enjoyed a great dinner and drinks at the Martini Grill on Friday night. Edmond at the bar made perfect martinis and we had great conversation. He took such pride in the restaurant and bar. He told us what a great place it was to work. He said that all of the food was prepared fresh and the sauces made in house. He also said the kitchen staff and chef were very talented and prepared. This restaurant was an unexpected treat. A true gem in the Wood-Ridge NJ neighborhood. Appetizers, dinner and deserts were all fantastic. Highly recommended.
Food was excellent and the waiter was very attentive to our every need
My husband and I dined with two friends last week at the Martini Grill in the early afternoon. From former experiences at this restaurant we were pretty sure that the lunch hour (12:30 pm) would see the restaurant fairly empty. We were right. This made for a most pleasurable dining experience - quiet, the tempo of service could be ours - not the busy pace that happens in a more crowded setting. The food at Martini Grill is consistently terrific. Portions are generous, quality is high, and the dishes are creative. I had the red sangria - something I have enjoyed before - and a pasta primavera dish that was delicious. Some of the other dishes ordered that day included lobster bisque, salmon (HUGE grilled piece - done just right), and the apple strudel accompanied by vanilla ice cream and berries. I know that in the evenings, especially on the weekend, when the Martini Grill is busier, the noise level can be bothersome. But - the food and service is good any time.
Second visit, just as good as the first. Our server was Lisa, very helpful with selections and service, and she was super patient with the 'Seinfeld' gang and our indecisiveness! but we didn't leave anything behind on the table including the amazing chocoloate godiva dessert (don't miss this!) The steak tip risotto was off menu but chef was happy to make it for us. We are planning our next visit already and will make sure we're in Lisa's section!
Excellent service and food. Very quiet Monday evening.
Went to see our friends Ruth Ann and Lenny perform. Food as good, service was just OK. loved line they were having problems with the number of people.
We love martini grill and have never had a bad meal there.
We go with friends every few months.
The only thing is that the music is way to loud for such a small space.
The performers were really very good but it is not the spot for this type of thing.
Maybe one night a week high light the drinks/entertainment.
Maybe it would work better.
After many years of going we are thinking about taking our evenings out somewhere else.
All of our dinners were beautifully prepared. I had my wife and two kids there for my wife's birthday. I had the crab cocktail in a martini glass which was a huge portion and great quality. The lobster tail and shrimp over risotto was awesome the lobster tail was very big and tender and well-seasoned. Son had the duck which was nice and crispy and well-seasoned served over couscous daughter had the salmon which was definitely not overcooked which is one of my biggest gripes with restaurants. Wife had the stuff soul and the crab meat stuffing was out of this world. We were enjoying our dinner until a guy sat down next to was loaded with some kind of cologne and it was a little bit of a spoiler.
Didn't seem to have my reservation, tables packed so close together you could barely sit down, wait staff seemed overwhelmed and our server was one of the worst I have seen, nice music and great food
Great presentation good food very good service
Parking can be an issue but not enough not to go
Chicken Saltimboca was not good.
Shrimp scampi app was very tasty, but only got 3 shrimp for $15 (too expensive)....
Lobster bisque was good
Food was excellent, waitress was pleasant and attentive. Portions were generous & dessert was delicious. We got one salad, two soups, a salmon entree, chicken entree and kid's size pasta, two glasses of wine, one Moscow mule, and two desserts and total was $140. Reasonable prices for a lot of food. We will be coming back!
The Resturant’s service was extremely slow and the staff seemed absolutely disinterested in even trying. We had to seek out the waiter just to get our water refilled, to get out order taken, dessert menus or our check.
Food was very good, but the wait staff ruined the experience.
If not for the 1,000 points - not worth it!
We always enjoy a great meal and of course, the best creative cocktails at Martini Grill. The entree options are numerous along with the daily specials. The appetizer and entree portions are very generous, so be sure to come hungry. On Friday and Saturday, you are treated to live entertainment, which makes for an enjoyable, relaxing experience. We will be back soon!
Martini was outstanding & food was even better! Staff is extremely friendly. We didn't feel rushed so that was very nice!!
New Years eve
Great service, huge portions, great live music Friday nights.
We were seated promptly. Our waiter was very friendly and service was great. He offered advice on food ascwell as chocolate martini
All martinis were delious and we tried a few
Definaltely going back with others
This is one of our go to places. Food, while never outstanding, is always very good. Service is attentive without being overbearing. Even before dinner starts. You get warm bread and foccacio. You also get olives and caponata. Don't miss the Godiva ice cream dessert!
Overall we had a very nice experience. We were greeted by one of the waiters and offered any table that we wanted. Although we made a reservation, they didn't seem to see it. It didn't matter because, even though it was a Friday Evening at 8:30, the restaurant was mostly empty. The place was very tidy and clean. I was off-putting to see only 4 tables occupied on what I thought would be a busy night, considering they advertise live music on Friday and Saturday.
Our waiter was friendly and attentive throughout the meal, and the pacing perfect. Not too quick as to seem like it was made ahead time, and not too long as to sit without something in front us.
The food was pretty good overall, however the menu did seem a little dated. Everything seemed over dressed or sauced. I really loved my spinach and bacon salad, however the dressing was served too warm and it ended up cooking the spinach on my plate. The sauce on my wife's tenderloin tips was a bit heavy, albeit very tasty. The mound of extremely rich mashed potatoes was too much for both of our dishes. Sometimes less is more. We usually love to order dessert but we were too full with salads and entrees to even think about it.
I don't regret my meal at Martin Grill, I just left expecting and wanting a little more. It is close to our homes and has a beautiful little bar. The music, both background and from the live pianist, was wonderful. The staff was extremely friendly and welcoming, it just seems like this place is stuck in the past with the look and feel and a dated menu.
Wow! Martini Grill, thank you! My guest and I enjoyed an incredible dinner at Martini Grill this past week. The service was exquisite, we were wined, dined and had fun dining experience. Not once were we rushed or pressured to order quickly. When I walked in I was greeted in an instant, I was able to pick my own table, and offered a wine menu while I waited for my guest to arrive. The wine menu had a wide variety of signature wines that ranged in price. We opted to start with two appetizers, calamari and the lump crab martini. BOTH were delicious but the Crab martini stole the show! For dinner we opted to share the special, filet mignon tips. When you typically order a meal to share it is usually on one dish, our waiter, knowing we were sharing, split the dish in two with incredible table side appeal.
I have to say , martini grill shines. Kudos to the entire staff, server, bartender, and chef. You all deserve some appreciation for the great dining experience you provide.
We dined very early with only others dining in the bar area. It was very quiet and romantic for my husband and I. The caprese appetizer that we shared was enormous and delicious. My husband had the lobster ravioli, which was enormous and he said, excellent. I ordered their specialty: the colossal shrimp and lobster with risotto, which was okay...I didn’t expect chopped asparagus spears throughout the risotto (I didn’t remember reading asparagus was in the description) and although the lobster was colossal the shrimp were average size and the seafood was a little dry and highly peppered for my taste. However, the Pom-Tini I selected was excellent!
Loved Martini Grill. Felt like having a home cooked meal only better! Service was great and food was delicious and generous!!
