We were looking for a light meal before the ballet. Lots of good combinations on the menu, so we could put together a tasty but not overwhelming meal. Service good, space a little cramped -- but heh, this is the city! Got out in good time.

Great service and good food with large portions. We came for dinner before going to the opera and service was friendly and quick without being rushed. Food is very heavy on garlic (especially the salad dressing), so bring some after-dinner mints.

Mashawi always satisfies. I've been through the menu at least a dozen times and have my favorites. So I rotate among them and enjoy every meal. Excellent for a pre-perfomance meal, as long as you get there by 5:30 and have a reservation. Staff does a perfect job of getting you served and finished, without rushing you in time to make the beginning of a performance.

The restaurant is small which makes the noise level a little high on a crowded night, but that doesn't detract from the food or the great service. Flavors were excellent And the portions extremely generous. Everything was wonderful.

Love their Kakta Kabob with rice pilaf. Dinner comes with soup or salad. Price is a good value. We go before the opera and they always feed us and get us out in plenty of time. Delicious!

Excellent food, delightful waiter. Quick service. Great atmosphere. Authentic cuisine. Close to McCaw Hall so it was the perfect place to eat before the show. We will definitely return.

I always enjoy Mashawi because the service is excellent, the food well-prepared and promptly served. Staff always accommodates for performance curtains, especially is you have a 5:30 reservation before your evening performance.

Mashawi is always reliable. Excellent menu and great variety. I do have my favorites, but vary them from time to time. Staff is always helpful in getting you to a performance on time, as long as you make your reservation for 5-5:30 p.m.

I like Mashawi for the varied menu, good service and proximity to the theaters on Mercer Street. Staff always gets us out in plenty of time for a 7:30 performance, with a reservation made at 5:30. So many good choices on the menu: North African Chicken, Northwest Salmon, Hummus and ground beef. Don't eat ALL THE RICE; it's too filling.

The service was absolutely fabulous, much better than have had there before (when they get busy the service usually falls off considerably) so was very pleased with the service. The only issue was my friend waiting a bit for her glass of wine but otherwise great service. I loved the Zahtar and the entrees were also nicely spiced -- the kabob combo flavors were delightful on the palate. Waitress was very knowledgeable and helpful, especially with the wine selection.

We went here as an alternative to our typical pre-Opera cuisine (Thai). I was pleasantly surprised by the authenticity of the food, especially the Schwarma, as well as the overall atmosphere. Seemed family friendly as well. A little slow to be waited on but the food came out quickly and we had plenty of time to spare. I would definitely go back.

Despite being slammed by an opera night (they're a couple of blocks from McCaw Hall, the theatre in which Seattle Opera performs) and having a few excessively-demanding patrons (not us!), the Mashawi folks did a great job - providing tasty and interesting food and pleasant wines in a reasonable time, with attentive (if slightly overwhelmed) service.

Glad to get a table prior to a concert at Seattle Center. Window seat was ready for us upon arrival. Food was very flavorful - hummus, while very garlicky, was silky smooth and wonderful. Shared an entree of Shish Tawouk (grilled chicken tenderloin) with rice: perfect amount for the two of us. If we weren't headed directly to concert, would love to have over-ordered and taken home some leftovers...mouth is watering thinking of the meal. We will return!

First visit here prior to attending Adele concert at nearby Key Arena. Service was friendly, food was very good, and portions were just about right. Wife enjoyed the baklava, as did I and I usually don't like sweets. The baklava was sweet enough without being overwhelming, with a pleasant nutty flavor. Definitely a great place to dine before a show.

I have eaten here twice and enjoyed both visits. The chicken shawarma dish is a very generous portion - two full meals easily- and delicious. The seafood couscous is delicious as well. Service was a bit slow, but friendly.
