Food is consistently delicious and well prepared. The prices have increased steadily through the years but very reasonable.
As always a meal at Mashawi is delicious, timed well and served efficiently. Excellent for pre-theater dining before a Seattle Center event.
This is a great restaurant with amazing food and really nice waiters.
Great place to eat before or after a show at Mcaw Hall. Easy to walk to. My daughter and I will be back for the hummus!
This was the first time and definitely not the last.
Every bite was a pleasure.
My spouse had the steak which was deliciously marinated and very tender, she loved it.
My Lamb couscous was enormous, tender and bathing in a delicious sauce, which I had the pleasure of using my spoon on.
Looking forward to the next occasion.
Average Mediterranean food. I had Ouzi. Lamb was over cooked. But pretty tasty. I also ordered "Turkish" coffee. It was not like any that I have ever had (boiled in a Turkish coffee pot with sugar and cardomon). It tasted like instant espresso. I told the waiter and he said the way I described was how they probably made it in Turkey, but not there it in Serbia where he was from. Go figure.
Dessert was baklava. It was very bland.
Service was ok. The server did not interact with us to check if everything was ok or if we needed anything.
The wine was pretty good. It is hard to mess up that.
Picked this restaurant due to proximity to McCaw Hall and attending an event there at 7:30. Initially service was excellent (6pm) on Monday night. However, as the restaurant filled (almost all tables!), we noticed there were only a couple of servers. We could tell they were doing the best they could but we sat sometimes waiting for next thing, including the check. Food was good and plentiful! Luckily, we had extra time and the waiting didn't interfere with attending the event. I'd go back with the caveat that we plan for the same amount of time. Seating can be tight as well - you'll be close to other folk's tables.
A wonderful, hidden gem. Food was great. The people friendly
Another delightful meal at Mashawi. The service is excellent. The food is always delicious . We have been going there for years and they are always consistently excellent
The meat on the combo kabob was over cooked and dry the salmon dinner was excellent
We had dinner at Mashawi before going to see a play at Seattle Rep. The restaurant was full of theater and opera goers, yet the service was fast and attentive. The food was very good especially the salmon and zahra. We enjoyed it very much. The entrees were large and gave us lunch the next day!
Food was very good, the service was just as good. If I'm in the area again, I will go back.
There aren’t too many places to get a meal before a performance at the Seattle Center, so we opted for Mashawi. I was a little worried as some reviews mentioned the service was poor and took a long time. On the contrary the service was the best thing about our meal. Prompt and friendly. We were with another couple, 2 of us ordered the combo plate and two ordered the wings. The portions are massive. The food just okay. I had the combo, and the chicken, beef and lamb were all over cooked and a bit dry. I did have one of my husband’s wings which was perfectly cooked. No room for dessert.
Though my wife and I went here for Valentine's Day, I can't count it as a special occasion because we also had our 11 year-old with us, so it was more of a regular dinner out.
Though I read some critical reviews citing the slow service, we had excellent, friendly attentive service and terrific food. Everyone felt that it was a new favorite that we should come back to frequently, and sometimes take out from as well. We were very happy with our find.
Have been coming for years after or before an event at McCaw. Food is fantastic but the service is horribly slow the last two visits. Arrived when they opened and waited 20 minutes for drinks. Another 40 for dinner and had to ask three times for the bill. Love the food but the slow service is too much.
A friend and I made a reservation here for a pre-ballet dinner. Service started slow, but I think our server just got slammed all at once. Server was pleasant and offered suggestions. I'm a Libra so I appreciate a server that will tell me what to order. I got the lamb kabob and my friend got the vegetarian sampler. We were both very impressed with the quality and taste of the food. We've each traveled to the Mediterranean and thought the food was on par. We split a bottle of wine, and got about for a little over $50 each. Great value for what we got. Would definitely recommend and will go back.
Always a good value with great food and good service.
delicious and close to Seattle Center. Dine and dash to your event.
On crowded opera night it was quite good, excellent veggie plate, very good wine.
Great for dinner before the opera--they really know how to serve a great delicious meal and get everyone out on time for the show. A wonderful reliable place.
The dishes had unique and pleasing seasoning and taste. Even the dinner salad was delicious. This is our second dinner before the opera and we ordered different entrees from our first visit. The new entrees were delightful. The Beef Shawarma was ordered by my wife (next time its my order). The restaurant is across the street from the Seattle Opera parking garage on Roy.
As always, a wonderful meal at Mashawi. We went before the opera. The food is excellent, the service attentive, efficient and timely, and the ambience delightful. An excellent choice before an event at Seattle Center or for a good meal with conversation at any time!
Quick, friendly service. Food was well prepared and very flavorful. As written, menu items seem like they might be rather similar - meat, carrots, peppers, onions... However the sauces all have different blends of herbs and spices. Not "spicy" food, per se, but very well flavored. If you want spicy, go next door (Thai).
This was one of my favorite places. But the last time I went there, the quality of the food was not good. I got my usual chicken shawarma, but they are cutting corners on the quantity of chicken. My food was also cold and the service was rushed.
Great, flavorful meal with lots of choices for most diets. We will come back again and again.
We both cleaned our plates so that says something about the food. Paper napkins instead of cloth. Mid-range dining. Short walk to McCaw hall. We will go again next time we go to theatre.
Was seated quickly upon arrival, nice table good location, extensive menu with great choices.
Service was friendly and quick took good care of our needs we had ticket to Opera so were under time constraints food was excellent and served with plenty of time to enjoy and get over to McCaw hall with time to spare this will be one of our go to places when going to Rep and Opera easy to get reservation the day before most places are always booked days in advance.
We had a table of 7 this week. The service was considerate. We loved the food very much. I would go back again.
This restaurant is located walking distance from Seattle Opera, PNW Ballet, Key Arena and Seattle Rep, which is great. The food was quite tasty - the owners are Lebanese. Unfortunately the service was incredibly slow as there were more customers than the servers could accommodate. We waited 30 minutes before we even got a drink and we had to flag down waitstaff to remind them of our order. It also got very crowded - the place is small and the tables are pretty tight. Again, the food was great.
Food is very very bland, restaurant is super empty (we were the only guests out of 2) but service is decent.
My family saw The Nutcracker during dress rehearsal and came here to eat dinner afterward. With one in our party being Vegan and another with dairy allergies, Mashawi had entrees to cater to every dining need. The food was great tasting and portions large. Soup or salad was included along with pita bread. Everyone enjoyed their meal and commented on how good it tasted. I highly recommend Mashawi for any occasion; it is our go-to destination when we are in Seattle Center.
We were looking for a light meal before the ballet. Lots of good combinations on the menu, so we could put together a tasty but not overwhelming meal. Service good, space a little cramped -- but heh, this is the city! Got out in good time.
We always have a great meal here. Excellent service and reasonably priced.
Everything was over-sauced and over-dressed. I ask the waiter for a recommendation and he couldn’t give me one. I gave him a choice of a couple of things and he was unenthusiastic about both. Now I know why. None of the four dishes we had were tasty.
Great food, timely service, good price! A perfect place to have dinner with friends before the opera. They always get you out in time!
Great service and good food with large portions. We came for dinner before going to the opera and service was friendly and quick without being rushed. Food is very heavy on garlic (especially the salad dressing), so bring some after-dinner mints.
Delicious food! We will come back. Service was great, friendly servers.
Have been here many times and this time was excellent, as usual. Will definitely be back!
Very attentive service in a lovely atmosphere; the lamb shank was outstanding!!
