Mashawi Mediterranean Cuisine Ratings and Reviews
Quick, friendly service. Food was well prepared and very flavorful. As written, menu items seem like they might be rather similar - meat, carrots, peppers, onions... However the sauces all have different blends of herbs and spices. Not "spicy" food, per se, but very well flavored. If you want spicy, go next door (Thai).
Was seated quickly upon arrival, nice table good location, extensive menu with great choices.
Service was friendly and quick took good care of our needs we had ticket to Opera so were under time constraints food was excellent and served with plenty of time to enjoy and get over to McCaw hall with time to spare this will be one of our go to places when going to Rep and Opera easy to get reservation the day before most places are always booked days in advance.
My family saw The Nutcracker during dress rehearsal and came here to eat dinner afterward. With one in our party being Vegan and another with dairy allergies, Mashawi had entrees to cater to every dining need. The food was great tasting and portions large. Soup or salad was included along with pita bread. Everyone enjoyed their meal and commented on how good it tasted. I highly recommend Mashawi for any occasion; it is our go-to destination when we are in Seattle Center.
Mashawi always satisfies. I've been through the menu at least a dozen times and have my favorites. So I rotate among them and enjoy every meal. Excellent for a pre-perfomance meal, as long as you get there by 5:30 and have a reservation. Staff does a perfect job of getting you served and finished, without rushing you in time to make the beginning of a performance.
The restaurant is small which makes the noise level a little high on a crowded night, but that doesn't detract from the food or the great service. Flavors were excellent And the portions extremely generous. Everything was wonderful.
I like Mashawi for the varied menu, good service and proximity to the theaters on Mercer Street. Staff always gets us out in plenty of time for a 7:30 performance, with a reservation made at 5:30. So many good choices on the menu: North African Chicken, Northwest Salmon, Hummus and ground beef. Don't eat ALL THE RICE; it's too filling.
The service was absolutely fabulous, much better than have had there before (when they get busy the service usually falls off considerably) so was very pleased with the service. The only issue was my friend waiting a bit for her glass of wine but otherwise great service. I loved the Zahtar and the entrees were also nicely spiced -- the kabob combo flavors were delightful on the palate. Waitress was very knowledgeable and helpful, especially with the wine selection.
We went here as an alternative to our typical pre-Opera cuisine (Thai). I was pleasantly surprised by the authenticity of the food, especially the Schwarma, as well as the overall atmosphere. Seemed family friendly as well. A little slow to be waited on but the food came out quickly and we had plenty of time to spare. I would definitely go back.
Despite being slammed by an opera night (they're a couple of blocks from McCaw Hall, the theatre in which Seattle Opera performs) and having a few excessively-demanding patrons (not us!), the Mashawi folks did a great job - providing tasty and interesting food and pleasant wines in a reasonable time, with attentive (if slightly overwhelmed) service.
Glad to get a table prior to a concert at Seattle Center. Window seat was ready for us upon arrival. Food was very flavorful - hummus, while very garlicky, was silky smooth and wonderful. Shared an entree of Shish Tawouk (grilled chicken tenderloin) with rice: perfect amount for the two of us. If we weren't headed directly to concert, would love to have over-ordered and taken home some leftovers...mouth is watering thinking of the meal. We will return!
First visit here prior to attending Adele concert at nearby Key Arena. Service was friendly, food was very good, and portions were just about right. Wife enjoyed the baklava, as did I and I usually don't like sweets. The baklava was sweet enough without being overwhelming, with a pleasant nutty flavor. Definitely a great place to dine before a show.
