I took my partner here for his birthday and informed the staff when I booked. The staff were lovely and made it very special for him.
The food was divine. A little on the expensive side but I expected that. The whole hotel looks incredible. There was a pianist in the hotel lobby and the bar and garden area look gorgeous
Massimo is consistently impressive with superior service. The decor is fantastic and one can sit for hours admiring the architecture. The food is delicious and seasonal. Great wine list.
The space where the restaurant is, is part of the Corinthia hotel and is absolutely gorgeous. The food is very good and the staff were very attentive and accommodating. They were very nice to interact with and it was a very enjoyable night.
Some work need to be done with wine list
Very pleasant evening, great atmosphere and ambience, together with excellent food and professional service
A wonderful end to a great day out with my friend. We had been to see Martin Shaw in The Best Man (also fabulous) and crossed the road to Massimos. Met with smiles and courtesy from the second we arrived. Cocktails and wine very good, served with complimentary delightful canapes. We sat at the bar for those then through to the restaurant when we were ready, all very relaxed and nothing too much trouble. Dinner was superb, my friend had the calves liver which was excellent and cooked perfectly. My spring lamb with mustard sauce with the roasted rosemary potatoes was really delicious. My only sadness is that it is closing in a fortnight, go while you can!
Very good food but wine overpriced
Very nice space. Good service. Food was good but very expensive. Wines expensive too. No need to be as expensive as they are as it’s not Michelin star quality, just good Italian food.
After trying the Northall & loved it we wanted to try here. We were not disappointed it was really good. Staff very helpful nothing was to much trouble & the food was lovely. We were made to feel very welcome
Massimo’s welcoming ambience and visually striking décor impressed us straight away. I especially liked the use of both contemporary and classical influences, which, can be seen in big statement lighting and striped Roman pillars. We arrived a few minutes before the restaurant opened – but, the hostess came over to greet us straight away. We continued to enjoy excellent service throughout the evening and everyone that served us had a very good knowledge about food and wine.
Every course on the set menu was delicious and beautifully presented - but, most of all I enjoyed the delicate flavour of the tender lamb shank – it went so well with a glass of Sangiovese and Merlot. We are very much looking forward to visiting this restaurant again.
Beautiful spa Rand good service. But the food was just ordinary.
We had a nice evening
The food was excellent and the service was excellent
The restaurant is very beautiful and cosy
And very nice ambience
My compliments to the chef
My husband and I had a early pre-theatre dinner before heading off to West End show on our 24th wedding anniversary this week and we both opted for their pre-theatre set menu. Although I would say this is a quite expensive restaurant, their set menu is a great value for money which includes a glass of prosecco. The quality of food was really good. The staff was attentive but not overly. We appreciated their subtle gesture of congratulating us on our occasion. Beautiful deco. For a special occasion, it is a fabulous place to eat out.
Extraordinary food in a high-class ambiance, with excellent service. While the average age was above 50, I cannot see why the younger folks could not enjoy it. Great selection of wines, certainly not cheap though.
We wanted a quick, easy but good pre-matinee lunch and they delivered in spades. We went for the pre-set lunch which was not short of choice or quality and set us up well for the theatre.
The service was impeccable, absolutely brilliant. The food was delicious. Definitely recommend.
A beautiful setting, great tasting food, friendly & professional service. All in all a real joy - will definitely be back for their lobster pasta!
Lovely place and the Art Deco building is amazing. Food is usually good but this night something had gone wrong in the kitchen and a lot of the dishes were not available.
Disappointed that the special offer was only available for lunch although this was not made clear.
So a 3 bowls of pasta and 3 glasses of wine came to over £100.
Beautiful setting but very pricey even though the bread basket was wonderful
Outstanding all round dining experience
Spectacular pasta dishes. Beautiful beef.
What a lovely surprise ! Not cheap but definitely worth it. Great experience
Fantastic venue. The art deco is worth the visit and the food and service is a perfect match.
Lovely setting and really good service, plus good menu!
A lovely location with delicious food. We had to request the 3 course menu and pleased we did as it was excellent value
Menu choices very quite limited. Food average. It appears that Massimos has fallen in to the trap of relying upon hotel clients however we did find the wine list comprehensive & interesting. Albeit when served our choice was not very well chilled.
Beautiful room let down by uninterested staff going through the motions of service & disappointing food.
We paid our bill of £290.25 inclusive of 12.5% service in cash & after fifteen minutes had to suffer the embarrassment of requesting our change!
Overall experience was poor. Went to treat my friend for her birthday. Bad service. Were left with water and menu for 15 mins then had to request wine list! Food was average and overpriced. £11 for a bowl of soup which wasn't anything special. Had to keep waving our arms to get attention. Won't return here.
We were very late but they still accommodated us and didn’t rush us, really nice vibe and food was superb.
Very tasty food (esp. lobster risotto), fantastic service and ambience!
Very good chilled out atmosphere with friendly attentive staff and great food.
We had a lovely lunch at Massimo. We had the daily risotto lunch (on our day it was crab) which included a salad and a glass of wine for £18 each. The portion was generous, the salad was tasty, the risotto was excellent, the service was outstanding, as was the value. We intended to have a dessert, but were both feeling too full at the end, so the bill came to less than £45 for 2 including service. I'll definitely go again.
I have been to Massimo several times over some years. It started well, but it was not outstanding. However it got better and better, and 2 years ago it was excellent - these were the days of the tagliatelle ragout and the melting chocolate sphere. Sadly today they have lost their spark while INCREASING their prices. It was a merely acceptable meal, some items a bit bland or too salty, others merely adequate. We paid £80 for a steak-for-two which, at that price, and for only 3 small strips each, should have been melt-in-your-mouth divine. It was merely acceptable. Our wine was very good, the service is always excellent, and the setting is outstanding. It saddens me that our favourite hotel for drinks/cigars/tea/hanging out cannot seem to maintain a restaurant of any calibre, certainly not befitting this hotel's standards.
Went for a pre theatre dinner, the dining room is a wonderful Art Deco space and service was good throughout the night. Disappointed with a couple of dishes though, the spaghetti with crab was all greens and no crab I thought I’d ordered the wrong dish. Tiramisu was average. Mains are generally overpriced but the set menu looks good value. Wine list is toppy. If eating out in this area again I’d go back but be more careful ordering. The bar is buzzing with a great atmosphere.
From the beginning till the end everything was just perfect. The Ambiance, the amazing service by Margarita, the food (only the main dish - pasta Rigatoni Tartuffe was a bit disappointing). The price is a bit high but at a summary I will definitely recommend you to go there and will go by myself again ! Thank you (;
For the price I would have expected the service to be 5 star it was not, the staff are not very attentive. The food could have been better , ie fresh pasta not prepack , there were plenty of free tables but the staff bunched everyone together, so privacy was a concern , I suppose you accept that this level will be expensive ,I think it was overpriced for what is a Italian Trattoria , I would go again but only for a special occasion
A lovely grand restaurant with one of the best pasta and black truffle dishes I have ever tasted
A wonderful location with courteous waitstaff and delicious food.
Very attentive service, but not too much, great food and lovely venue
Not too loud
