This place is heaven. I love it so much. I took my mom here. We split the salmon, classic fondue, and she got a mocha madness and I got a chocolate old fashion. Amazing. The old fashion was very strong, but delicious. Her mocha madness was like liquid heaven. Ate way too much!
Very nice experience for a birthday dinner. The mac an cheese with chicken was truly an amazing dish and cannot wait to go back. Their chocolate shop is very unique with a variety of chocolate to choose from. I definitely recommend this place.
Our Stay was very nice. The food was delicios and tasty.
The only thing the hot chocolate was not hot and creamy since last 4 year ago.
And most dissapointed thing was that the restrooms were absolutely dirty.
This was a terrible experience.
Bit we recommend it and we will come back when we are travelling again New York City
Max knows his dessert!! Best place for outrageous chocolate. Great service & fresh food.
Unfortunately this experience was just... disappointing in terms of service (though our waiter was very nice).
This place is known for its chocolate desserts, but you have to try the food. The food is amazing too! Went here for dinner with friends and loved every single piece of food that we ordered. Definitely having dinner here again! I recommend the herb chicken entree.
We showed for a reservation at 7:30 and then had to wait for over an hour even after being on-time for a reservation that was confirmed when we got there. Also the wait staff was not rude but certainly completely un-friendly.
We had a reservation and they didn’t seat us until 20 minutes later.
Everything was great other than the hostess. Came in an hour before our reservation to see if we could get a table and was told that there was an hour wait. I let them know that I had a reservation at 5 and I will just come back. Returned at 5 and others without reservations were seated before me as I was told that they were waiting a long time. IMO it shouldn't matter how long they were there. I had a reservation and they didn't, it's pretty simple as that is the point of making a reservation. Then I was told that there were four others a head of me which is unacceptable. I can see waiting 5 maybe 10 minutes at most to be seated after my reservation time, not 15 because they were sitting those w/o reservations who were waiting.
Good food, priced just right and the chocolate is the best!
Tables are packed in there so there is no room to move or get in and out of your chair. Service was very slow and food arrived haphazardly. Hot drinks arrived luke warm and water glasses arrived dirty - had to be sent back. We had 4 at our table and never had the right number of utensils. Had to ask several times.
Horrible!! Ruined an 11yr olds bday!! All food orders came out wrong multiple times!! Took an hour for chicken tenders. Kids were starving. Waiter was so bad.
Delicious chocolate experience. Had to wait several minutes past our reservation time to be seated, was very busy.
We had a great experience like always. Food was great so was the service.
So great! Food is fun and good. Our server was awesome.
Charles, our server, was awesome!
Great place for family outing. But not much vegetarian option. need to put more vegetarian meal on the menu.
It was a good time as it was nit crazy busy. Not a whole lot if people when we went.
I’ve been extremely disappointed with the service the last two times I’ve come. I love Max Brenner, the theme, the ambience; I like bringing friends from out of town to enjoy the experience, BUT the service has been terrible. I thought maybe last time it was the waiter and the fact that it was a weekend and it was packed. But I just came on a weeknight, the place was not busy, and it was a different waiter. The service was still terrible.
Details: the waiter brought food out and we had no utensils
The waiter brought out one person’s meal before everyone else’s (WELL before)
The waiter poured water in my cup, holding the pitcher over my lap and water dropped into my lap from the bottom of the pitcher
The waiter did not come around often enough ask if we needed anything or give us the check when we were done; we needed to flag him down every time we needed something
Disappointing; not sure how much I’m going to come back or recommend this place, as all the frills don’t matter when there is poor service
Great service and food was amazing
Dope place , nice food but once my friends felt discriminated because they we are a younger crowd it kind of ruined the tone of the whole night . No happy birthday just a check thrown at us 🤷🏽♂️.
Great atmosphere, not too gimmicky which shows through in the food quality. Attentive and pleasant service during probably their busiest time of the week. Will be back for sure.
I had been to Max B's several times with my family many years ago, but my friend had never been there and since she is seriously addicted to chocolate it seemed important to introduce her. We had so much fun and enjoyed our brunch, too. Our server, Jovan, was so accommodating, jolly and helpful (and patient). He surpassed all our expectations. My guest, affectionately now known as Earthquake Nancy, loved every bite of her salad but R-E-A-L-L-Y enjoyed the shared dessert of a giant chocolate chip cookie a la mode.
We hope to be able to go again in the next few weeks, AFTER I finish with my Weight Watchers project ; )
Went for my sons bday. It was nice. A couple of mix ups but server was nice and cleseed stuff up. Food is solid. a dessert place. My son really enjoys it. Recommend it
Food was delicious. Loved the chicken Mac and cheese. Would love to have a location in Dallas. Do not miss the Mac and cheese. And my husband loved the Caesar salad!
We came for my son's 14th birthday and it was perfect for that occasion. Our waitress and her assistants were kind and efficient and helped some goofy 14-year-old boys have a great time. The fondue was a big hit.
Definitely worth the try. The set-up is inviting and the plates are full of deliciousness. Looking forward to trying more on the menu the next time around.
The hostess was absolutely friendly and also the servers. Great team!
We went to have lunch at Max's place and take our son to the Port Authority Bus Station, he was going back to college from his Christmas break. This restaurant is one of our favorite places to eat at. We have taken our son's friends there and we returned with them within a month. We love the service, the atmosphere always energized and friendly; and of course the food!!!
I want to relay a story, we took our son and five of his friends to see the Blue Man Group at Astor Place. We live in upstate New York. The village of Washingtonville in Orange County. My wife and I then treated them to your restaurant after the show. The next day I thought I would hear about how great the show was and that they had a nice dinner afterwards. Well to my surprise all I heard was that the show was great!! However the highlight of the day was Max Brenner's!!! Rave Reviews. They liked it so much we took them back the next month! So in closing as a family we LOVE MAX BRENNER'S !!!
The peanut butter hot chocolate was awesome!! The service was okay, the waiter was a little gruff and didn’t seem pleased we were there.
It has the most amazing dessert and presentation,
love the place.
Food was good, service was great. Some of the desserts were overly sweet.
We arrived early for our reservation, we were told we would have to wait. Then about 1030pm I went back up to the hostess to ask how much longer. She said she forgot so seated us. Our waitress took forever to come over to us. When she did we told her we were only ordering dessert and coffee, we put in our drink order. She then told us there was no coffee or such because the machine was broken. Therefore we were already disappointed at that point since we were looking forward to dessert and coffee before our drive back to CT. We order other drinks. After about 20 mins she came back (without our drinks) to take our order. We ordered and reminded her about our drinks. She then served our dessert about 1/2 AFTER that. She brought my daughter a melted ice cream sandwich and our fondue with the candles out so the chocolate was cold. When we complained she offered no resolution nor did she offer to remake the desserts. We paid our bill and left. Would not go back, which is disappointing because it was really cute. We had high hopes.
It was amazing !!!!
Tight seating space and smaller portions but delicious food and desserts and great service.
Fun place to dine, especially with kids. I have noticed over the years that they've cut-back considerably on the food portions and menu options which is disappointing. I highly recommend making a reservation and saving room for dessert.
Menu with a lot of options, and not just desserts. Our waitress was attentive but not that personable. The food was good, and the desserts were excellent! The ambiance is really great as well.
Our food was delicious and the service was Fabulous!
