Maximo Bistrot is an intimate restaurant in the Roma area that provides guests with Mexican, French and European cuisine. The cozy dining room features dim lighting along with a combination of table and booth seating and large beautiful windows. Maximo Bistrot also provides customers the option of dining indoors or outside on the beautiful street side patio.
The menu offers provide a wide array of options. Menu items include lobster pasta with calamari ink, asparagus with poached egg and hollandaise sauce, ceviche with stone crab and octopus ceviche. There is also a complete bar menu.
We were recommended to come here. The food did not disappoint. We chose the tasting menu, and asked for pescatarian and each of the courses was delicious. The service was friendly though the pace was too fast. We were always brought the next course as soon as the previous was finished, and before we had finished the paired wine. We were asked to move table so they could accommodate a large party. We didn’t mind this too much but in other places they would have offered a little something in return - not so here. Our biggest gripe was the exceedingly low light level. Both of had to use our phone torches to read the menus - the one on brown paper was a particular challenge.
Todos los platillos que pedimos, desde las entradas hasta el postre, fueron excelentes. Las bebidas de mezcal también fueron excelentes.
Great food, excellent service.
The food is simple yet complex. The flavors compliment each other in each creative dish. I enjoyed my meal so much that I went twice during my vacation. The service is friendly, professional and accommodating. I highly recommend this restaurant.
We were a table of 7. We arrived early and they were very nice and seated us. But, then they told us that we couldn’t order from the menu. We just had to accept what the kitchen decided to send us. Mind you, this is not a pre fixe menu. We asked to please let us order, but to no avail. For a restaurant in this category, I would expect better.
Ir a Maximo siempre es complicado, pues no es fácil elegir qué pedir entre las opciones del menú. Sin embargo, sea lo que sea que pidas, será una gozada. Pregunta a los meseros por recomendaciones especiales.
We really enjoyed everything!
As good as always. one of my favorite!!!!!!! We will be back!
Todo muy bien un poco costoso
Food and service was good. The restaurant was small so the tables are very close to each other.
I love Maximo always try to get a reservation when in CDMX, love everything about it. The only thing I wish it wasn't so cold. It's in a cold corner of the city. I always forget to bring a sweater. They should provide more heat or blankets. The food is absolutely delicious. Service is great.
I was here twice before and had an exceptional meal and service, sadly tonight that was not the case. We arrived a bit ahead of our scheduled reservation and were told to wait outside on the curb for 15 min., once seated we were forgotten completely until we asked to place a drink order and yet 3 times we were asked what type of water we wanted. The appetizer crab was very good, the main course huachinango was mediocre and mid bite my husband’s plates were wisked away. We waited again and no one came to ask about dessert until we called the waiter over, who never addressed me it asked if I wanted anything else. It will be a long time before we return and hopefully by then service will have improved.
Way overpriced for the restaurant itself. It offers great food but not the best. The portions are very small and the prices are very high in a very very basic place that offers nothing in terms of design and decor. Would not come back. Mexico has a great wide array of options that gives you more value.
Muy delicioso y romantico!
Todo estuvo delicioso! Muchísimas gracias
Food was delicious. Service was great. Definitely coming back.
The only minor negative points would be the noise levels and that there is only one bathroom for men and one for women.
Máximo Bistrot is a highly recommendable experience in CDMX. The quality of the food is outstanding, the service is excellent and it is offered in a very unpretentious and cozy environment. The homemade cocktails are also worth trying. This was my second visit and I will gladly be back again!
Food was excellent, portions good. The servers were charming. Only thing is they served the food too fast. They definitely could have let more time pass between dishes.
Birthday celebration. Food was fantastic and service great.
Our favorite Mexíco City Restaurante. Always get surprise fixed menu with wine pairing. Always fun and interesting
Our waiter, Luis and Nan, the sommelier was FABULOUS too!
One of the best restaurants in the world!
I don’t know what happened but something I ate there got me extremely sick. I know it wasn’t anything else because I just got in from my home country and went straight there after the hotel. Other than that the food was delicious.
Food was excellent, had the special artichoke appetizer & then the flatiron steak which was perfectly cooked. The tart tartan was good but for some reason chewy. I tasted the asparagus with hollandaise sauce was which also good as was the risotto with mushroom. Unfortunately, can't say much about the ambiance since we were seated immediately in the outdoor/street traffic area which was cold even with the heaters on. (It wasn't what I requested) The service was attentive and friendly, however, at the beginning we felt rushed, ie. before cocktail arrived we were asked already to order our dinners (which didn't really allow for time to enjoy the cocktails). My manhattan though was good, especially since it came with a Luxardo cherry. After we were finished with our entrees, we were then asked if there was anything else we wanted, ie. was this the end of the meal? I had to ask for the dessert menu. Of note, we dined on a holiday evening so there was a lot of loud conversation (high-fives, some cursing, many Americans) which detracted from the ambiance. I would dine again at Maximo Bistrot, but perhaps on a non-holiday.
We had the tasting menu. Everything was delicious. super friendly staff. Excellent service. We were celebrating a birthday and they brought a surprise birthday dessert with a candle , what an awesome ending to a fantastic meal!
The food experience was phenomenal. The service was outstanding and the ambiance was perfect. We loved it so much we went back another day for lunch. Muchas gracias!
On vacation. This is a must in Mexico City.
Absolutely amazing, my favorite in Mexico City. Best to go with a group so you can try everything!!!
Everything was amazing! Great food, ambience, and service.
Siempre es una excelente experiencia
El menú de degustación con maridaje fue una elección muy atinada, todo delicioso y la Sommelier Nan, muy atenta nos complació en gustos. Muy recomendable!
One of the best meals ever! Loved the woman who seated us and helped with the wine selection.
The food is amazing but, like many restaurants in Mexico City, the prices are ridiculously high and the portions everytime smaller. I paid $3,500 pesos for a 2 person meal, which included a couple of starters, 2 entrees, and 3 glasses of wine (and tip). Although the food is amazing, I do believe the experience/value ratio is too low. Aside of this, the ambiance in this restaurant is amazing and the service is very efficient. There's a nice lounge in the second floor to have a drink while you wait for your reservation.
Loved the cava detail
The food was excellent. You are paying U.S. prices. Portions are small. Menu somewhat limited and not particularly Mexican.
Fabulous food. Professional service. Personal attention.
