Mediterraneo Ristorante & Caffe
For the past 20 years, Mediterraneo chef and owner Rino Letizia has stuck by his primary goal: to consistently give his customers first-rate food and service. The innovative menu draws from different regions of Italy and includes the chef’s delectable daily specials. The kitchen focuses on quality, freshness and food presentation. Enjoy a delightful meal indoors or al fresco, before or after the theater.
At Mediterraneo, you will experience what authentic Italian food is all about.
We loved it, especially the grouper. Our waiter Carmine was very entertaining.
A major disappointment. Met some friends there thinking we were going to have good food. Four of us had three different pasta dishes and all three were tasteless. Not what you would expect at that price point. Even the ingredients were what you might see at a cheap diner. Ill give them a (1) only because the bread and salads were just Ok. If you want good food find another restaurant.
food which was thrown at us was inedible,, waitress nice enough. will not go back
Just perfect as usual. good food and good service. will be back
always great. Lovely chicken payard. Very nice pasta carbonera.
Great job! My go to local Italian restaurant
We’ve eaten at your restaurant several times and never disappointed. My brother who lives in Pleasantville was the one who told us about it. Love the food, service and can actually have a conversation at the table and hear each other. Will be back!
I was very pleased with my experience. My friend and I could hear each other, the food was excellent, as was the service. Having open doors to the outside was very nice, as it was a spectacular evening to enjoy. I've been to Mediterraneo before and I will continue to go there.
I ordered Pasta Putanesca on the prix fixe menu and although the food was fine, the main course was the size of a side order of pasta. I am not a tremendous eater and I walked out hungry. Also, the staff acted as if they could care less whether we were there or not. I don’t live in Westchester and made a special trip from Rockland to dine here based on a previous experience, but I will rethink going back:
Party of 4. Food below par. Chicken parm too thick. Didn’t seem to have been pounded to tenderize. 2 fish dishes had tasty sauces but fish had no flavor. Tasted artificial. Risotto was ok but nothing great. We all had pre fix for $25 each. Maybe regular menu is better.
Love the food, the selection and the ambiance! The selection on the menu is difficult to choose from as there are so many delicious options. Fish, veal, chicken and specials offer variety!
Could not have been better.. great entrees, nice setting, good host and decent prices!
Delicious, large portions of very fresh food. Oysters (Blue Point were available) tasted like they just came out of the ocean. The calamari was cooked to order without pepper. We thoroughly enjoyed the veal melanaise , the pasta with clam sauce, and the filet of sole in lemon caper sauce. If you still have room, the cheesecake was the best I have ever tasted. It as well as most of the deserts are cooked in house. The meal was enjoyed without being rushed.
We were delighted tp take our out-of-town guests to introduce them to Mediterraneo, one of our favorite Pleasantville restaurants. They were impressed! But now that the restaurant is able to open substantially all of the doors that separate it from the sidewalk, we were also treated to very gusty blows from a strong northwest wind, which the ladies found very annoying to their hairdos! Plus, the late afternoon sun glare that we, as early dinners experienced, forced us and several other tables to move further inside, since with the open doors, shade curtains and awnings could not be lowered.
The food is delicious. Just like being in Italy. The service was great! So nice can eat outside or inside. The family does a terrific job making you feel so welcome.
Recommended to this gem hidden in Pleasantville by a friend and was impressed beyond - service was on point and the food was fabulous. It was my first visit but definitely not my last. If in the area, try it - you'll surely enjoy it.
Reservations are a must for this local favorite. Excellent menu. Delicious food and terrific service. Great bar service if you can't get a table due to a long wait.
Once again was a terrific restaurant to have lunch with friends. The prie fixe menu choices were excellent and food delicious! Ho there if you are in Pleasantville
Very nice local restaurant. Delicious pastas. And you can order in two different portion sizes -- especially nice for lunch.
We were there for Mothers Day. My wife and I and our son and family with our 8 3/4 grand-daughter. Food was excellent. We totally recommend this restaurant.
Terrific lunch! Beautiful pasta and meat dishes. Hearty portions!
This restaurant is a consistent pleasure. A great place to reconnect with friends over a delicious dinner.
Mediiterraneo is always a professionally run restaurant with well prepared delicious food. It is a repeat for us.
We went to Mediterraneo for the first time on the recommendation of a friend. We met other friends there and all four of us were very happy with our choice. The restaurant is nicely decorated, small-to-mid-sized, and (very important!) not too noisy. We were able to have a good conversation with our friends, but yet there was some "buzz" in the dining room. The food was very good, and the staff is outstanding!
Last minute changes to our Easter Sunday plans caused us to go to Mediterrano for our Easter dinner, we had a wonderful meal with great service saving the day for us.
Amazing food, atmosphere, and service!! One of the nicest places I have gone and will definitely go back as well as recommend to others!!
Very good neighborhood Italian -- pastas in two sizes -- terrific for smaller appetite eaters.
Outstanding menu and spectacular food. Warm, attentive and wonderful service. Truly an excellent restaurant. Would heartily recommend Mediterraneo. Just great!
Mediterraneo has been a go to place for us for years. I feel that I am treated like family when I go there. The service is fantastic, great bar and the food is delicious.
Delicious food. Amazing service. Very friendly and warm Love the whole experience. Great Italian food!!!!!been coming here for over ten years when we are in town!
Awesome food and great service! Highly recommend this restaurant to everyone! Loved it!
We had moved to South Carolina 4 years ago but came back to Mediterraneo to meet with new in laws of our son. Everyone tried something different for appetizer and entrees and everyone just loved everything, really ! Had a wonderful evening.
had never been here before even though we live nearby for many years. Food was excellent, service was great also. Seemed like a lot of folks from the neighborhood were there and the staff knew them. Made me feel like I wanted to be a "regular" as well. Will definitely return!
This was our first visit to Mediterraneo Ristorante & Cafe in Pleasantville, NY. We were lucky to get a corner table in the far end of the restaurant, enabling us to be a bit removed from the traffic flow and noise. Between the floors and ceilings, the restaurant tends to be a bit noisy. The food and service were both excellent and the pricing was reasonable. I thought it interesting that the price of the Monkfish special was $8 more than the salmon dish. I assume the Salmon must have been farm raised and less expensive. Overall, we enjoyed our meal and the experience and will definitely return in the future.
Absolutely wonderful food and outstanding service. An excellent meal and experience.
Consistently terrific food, superb value, and great service. If you do not know this restaurant, be sure to give it a try.
A nice warm welcome, friendly service, amazing bottle of wine, and a great meal overall. This was our second time at Mediterraneo and it was as enjoyable as the first!
Lovely neighborhood restaurant with excellent food and service !
Bravisimo....once again! I am Italian and hard to please. This neighborhood gem is genuine, food, staff and hospitality...top notch.
