Fantastic experience from start to finish. Were lucky enough to attend during Diwali celebrations which gave it an even better ambience. Exceptional food (and lots of it), excellent service and really good value for money. Topped off by the fact that when I booked it I said we were there to celebrate a birthday and they brought over some lovely cheesecake and a sparkling candle. Overall, wonderful visit and will definitely be back
It was wonderful as usual. Hadn’t been in a while mainly because I hadn’t been out. It’s the best Indian restaurant there is
Probably the best Indian restaurant in Nottingham. I have been going there for several years and went again recently, after a gap of a couple of years. I was delighted to find that the quality of the menu and the cooking remain very high. I had Boti Padina to start and Nizam Lamb Handi for my main course. Both were new to me and both were excellent. The Boti Padina was one of the best starters I've ever had in an Indian restaurant - succulent, delicately spiced lamb cooked to perfection. The Nizam was almost as good with a moderately hot spiced sauce which had a pleasantly satisfying heat that kicked in as an afterthought, giving plenty of time to appreciate the subtle but forceful flavour.
It's always good to see a restaurant maintaining the same high standards over a period of years and Memsaab is one of the few that has succeeded.
Great food, well served.
Great food & service to celebrate my wife’s birthday, they even made us our favourite egg curry.
Great service and fabulous food. Would definitely recommend it.
Wonderful dinner and fantastic service as always. Can't recommend enough!
Very accommodating venue, as we had to increase the number of guests at short notice -thank you very much
Wonderfully served by lovely staff
We will surely return highly recommend ✨✨✨✨✨
Excellent food and service. Indian food that is based around great taste, not just heat and will good service. Highly recommended.
Fantastic food. High quality and very tasty. Excellent service with a genuine smile. Lovely balance of great fine dining and still a personable touch.
Outstanding food and service as always. Will be back soon.
Nice birthday treat. Food was excellent and advice from staff very good. Would definitely go again.
The food was excelent and well presented. we were not rushed in anyway. The service was just as good and the little thing matter to them.
Lovely Indian food in the centre of Nottingham. :-)
Mother’s Day dinner. Told only limited special menu on site. Food was good. But plates VERY dirty, guess their dishwasher was faulty. Staff were nice. Probably won’t go again until their dishwasher is back to work.
Absolutely I would recommend to anyone who likes Indian food
Bit more expensive than we`ve paid in other good curry restaurants, however seeing how everything and most importantly the food is faultless i`m not complaining, and we go every month so that says it all.
Slightly above our usual budget, but the food and service was exceptional. The best indian restaurant we have ever visited.
Food was excellent as usual. I found another wine on their list that is even better than the grillo. The Gavi Di gavi. So that’s a definite win. It was simply Devine. I was their as it would have been my fathers birthday so I too my mother out for dinner. The lady who runs the house sent us 2 glasses of sparkling wine which was lovely and very much appreciated. If you want an India in Nottingham I don’t think it’s possible to have a better meal than in here. Outstanding
Just a really nice experience
Mensaab is in my opinion the best Indian Restaurant in the Country. The Staff are fantastic and the food is amazing. I travel all over the country for work but I can't wait to come to Nottingham for work so i can eat here!
The food was nice and arrived very quickly and the service throughout was excellent - the only disappointment was the popadoms and accompanying dips which could have been much better
Really good food and atmosphere. Good service, enough space between the tables to chat loudly without talking over neighbouring diners.
I love this place and the food is impeccable but I went on New Year’s Eve and it was a set menu effectively as it only had a few dishes to choose from. I don’t like that so I can’t give it a good review. As for the wine again a let down as they didn’t have Grillo and I picked the best of what they had, was an Argentine white wine but not a patch on the grillo they had and left half a bottle as it wouldn’t go down. I would never go again when a limited menu is on offer and I don’t want desert or sides like Bombay potatoes which I don’t like. Also the wine list is now a problem as a Pinot Grigio is difficult to get a good one, the Sancerre and Chablis is always acidity, a Chardonnay very sharp. Good white wines are a dry Riesling, gave, Greco di tuffo, falegehnia, verdiccio or the grillo that they had before. Can’t drink red wine with curry and beer is too heavy for me. So not sure if I could now go back as no decent wine is an issue for me.
The service and food was amazing! We were very well looked after as a couple new years eve. I also went there for my works Christmas party and again the food and staff were outstanding. Highly recommend!!!!!
Top restaurant, lovely fresh food, going back soon for my birthday.
Excellent staff, excellent food and lovely decoration and restaurant as a whole. Will definitely be visiting again.
Great for special occasions
Amazing service, the people are absolutely lovely! Food was delicious too except a thing here and there over cooked but that could just be a one off! Because other stuff we ordered was commendable!!
Fantastic service and the food was outstanding, well worth the price and good portions too.
Amazing. Food was even better than last time. It’s a truly outstanding restaurant
We had booked a table for 22.45 via Opentable but when we arrived, they clearly only take orders till 22.30. They were very apologetic and were going to be in touch with Open table to correct that. However..... they checked with the chef in the kitchen who agreed to stay because of the error and we had the most amazing meal - everything was delicious - all the traditional favourites but just better! They were also courteous and although we were late we never felt rushed out. Would definitely go here again if in Nottingham.
Memsaab was recommended by a friend and it was a very lovely evening.
Very good but was very noisy on Saturday. The service was good but not exceptional as they were very very busy so waiters had little time for you. I would always recommend it as very good but I would prefer more attentive service for the price that we are paying.
Great service, super food and a great selection of drinks to compliment the menu
This is indeed one of the best Indian restaurants we've been to.When we are traveling around England we have a habit of going to an Indian restaurant one our way back and we go to different cities/various places and I can say this one was one of the nicest we've been. The prices might be higher than the ones of your favourite curry place, but once you go there you will understand that it's totally worth it.
The ambiance was nice, the interior design ok (not as 'kitchy' as most Indian places),the service good, but the best part was the actual food. I would recommend this place to all my friends going to Nottingham!
Top class! We haven't eaten at the Memsaab since we last spent a couple of nights in Nottingham around 10 years ago and it was just as good, if not better, than we remember it. Everything about it was excellent - the relaxed ambience, the very professional, but not in-your-face, service and, not least, the food. We will be back, probably when there's next a test match at Trent Bridge.
An incredible meal and wonderful staff, would highly recommend :)
Great food and service - very very nice ; my prawn dish was simply delicious 😋 will definitely be going there next time I am in Nottingham 👍
We went to Memsaab as we found it on Google, glad we did. Beautiful food, great service and happy people all around. The maitre'd organised dishes for us as my wife had left her glasses at home and the menu was too long to read out loud. Simply put, an exceptional place for fine dining Indian cuisine. Well worth the price.
