Meridian Lounge - InterContinental London The O2
The perfect destination for Afternoon tea.
Mothers 85 birthday. Excellent quality and a really good way to arrive early at the O2 and enjoy a civilised couple of ours without fighting to find somewhere to eat at the O2. Big call out to Tim and Rob
We were looked after by Amy who was very pleasant and knowledgeable. She guided us through the menu and helped us choose our tea. It was a wonderful experience.
Fantastic afternoon tea
Very convenient location across the O2 arena. Our waiter Ami was absolutely perfect - accommodating all our requests. We had afternoon tea - sandwiches and pastry were good, the scones very good, and a very good selection of teas. I would definitely come back again.
The food was disappointing, a bit tasteless and uninspiring. The chef should taste his/her own creations occasionally just to check they taste as good as they look (they looked amazing). Definitely won't be having afternoon tea there again, such a waste of £100. Most of the sandwiches were inedible, not seasoned properly and even the bread was a bit dry.
The cakes were mostly inedible, they looked great but just weren't very nice at all, most were left, on the presentation platter untouched. Apart from the tea, the only good part was the goats cheese and onion tarts crisp, light pastry and baked beautifully, really tasty. Overall the afternoon was a let down, we were staying at the Intercontinental for my daughters birthday and attending a concert at the O2, afternoon tea was the only thing that spoilt an otherwise amazing weekend.
Fabulous service from Joszef and good food. The Meridian was quiet, which was perfect for us, a mix of business people having meetings and hotel guests relaxing, it was very chill. Floor to ceiling windows give a great view too!
The service was outstanding, a lovely Katerina was our waitress and she was just so attentive and made it very special. We had afternoon tea which I have to say was the best I have ever had . To be honest i was quite shocked at how good the food and service was . So outstanding value for money . I run a salon in Norwich , have have been recommending it all to my clients .
I can’t wait to return again ! 10/10 .
Kindest regards Heather Yeomans
Had a lovely relaxing afternoon tea very attentive staff our waitress was informative of the food and very polite and friendly. Food was a high standard and the then and now theme was evident in all the flavours which complemented each other so well. We will no doubt be returning
Amazing food, drinks and the service from Katerina was outstanding.
We thoroughly recommend the Afternoon tea for a special occasion.
Excellent service, food was delicious and the cakes were to die for well worth the money. Pink grapefruit cocktail was beautiful
The staff make the whole experience of an occasion special. We celebrated a 40th birthday. We had breakfast Anka gave us beautiful view of the river. Later in the day, Sylvia served us an outstanding afternoon tea. She explained the various tea and cakes to perfection. I would definitely recommend it.
Fantastic afternoon tea, incredible flavours in a lovely environment with excellent staff. The sandwiches were amazing!
Perfect service and afternoon tea. Our server Katerina was absolutely brilliant and attentive, plus organised a birthday cake for my wife.
Went for afternoon tea as a birthday treat for my wife and it was an exceptional experience. I had called before to mention specific dietary requirements (halal meats, no alcohol) and allergies (my wife is allergic to fish and some cheeses) and the team were extremely accommodating providing alternatives for us.
We were served by Sylvia who was lovely and explained what was in each item and suggested different teas based on what we preferred. Everything was presented really well and Sylvia even brought out an extra cake with a happy birthday message for us which was a nice surprise.
The decor of the lounge is nice and cosy with the big windows allowing in a lot of natural light making it feel spacious. The view is alright as you can see the Canary Wharf etc though would be even better if the lounge wasn’t on the ground floor and instead was higher up the hotel.
Overall we left stuffed and took home leftover sandwiches and cakes. A great experience and definitely worth it if you’re in the area.
Excellent afternoon tea. The sweet treats were just the right amount of sugar, sandwiches were delicious and the tea selection is great. Definitely would recommend going!
A wonderful afternoon with my other half...service was impeccable and the hotel..well..we shall be definitely returning
We had such a lovely afternoon tea on Sunday. The service was outstanding and the food was delicious. You get plenty of food and there was a good mix of sweet and savoury, with plenty of teas to choose from. I will definitely return.
Came here on sat 12th may . Great atmosphere. Very clean. Good for people watching . Had a great time and would come back.
5 star service
The afternoon tea was the best I’ve ever experienced. The waitress and staff were so professional explained every tea and cake down to the fine details.
The hotel is in a class of its own
Great Gluten Free Afternoon Tea experience in an amazing location. Must visit again.
A simple salad and a drink. Very tasty
Been here for afternoon tea on 2 occasions and on both the staff have been wonderful. The tea selection and food is excellent. Lovely calm and relaxed environment to spend the afternoon with family or friends.
The lounge looked lovely when we arrived but was noisy. Be aware it’s a good walk from tube station. It was hard to discuss a vegetarian menu as there is no flexibility from the stated sandwiches. Some sandwiches were nice, beware the goats cheese ones, inedible. Tea was nice and the cakes were a highlight. Very expensive for what was provided overall.
Would highly recommend afternoon Tea there. The food was great and service fantastic and we even got to meet the creator of the current Afternoon Tea menu - Sophie Faldo.
Fab, loved it.
Diana and Catalina were very welcoming and the right level of attentive. Catalina explained the menu and made some great recommendations. I loved the food and tea but it was too much for me so I didn’t finish it all. I would definitely come back with friends and family. Thank you!!
Everything was spot on, hotel staff were great, our waitress was super friendly and helpful and the food was amazing.
Would definitely go again!
I booked online for afternoon tea for 12pm but was told they didn’t serve it until 1pm therefore there is an error with the booking system. The staff tried to bring out the food earlier which was great. Our waiter Joszef was very helpful and made us feel welcome especially as I had bought my 10 month old son along however other customers and staff members did not make us feel as welcome so be cautious if you have a young family as we felt a little uncomfortable.
Celebrating our 25th anniversary in London, my husband experienced his first High Tea and he enjoyed it.
I went with my mum and the welcome from the hotel staff was great as a previous time.
The waitress called Catalina was very nice but the overall service was a bad let down this time.
It took a bit of time for the tea to arrive even if there were only two other tables (3 more people in total) then it took another half an hour for the sandwiches to arrive which was fine because we weren’t in a rush.
When we ate our sandwiches I finished my tea but no one came to check how was it, I didn’t have tea for 15 minutes and I had to be looking for anyone who could come and serve us, also when I eventually was served I was served in the dirty cup that I already had.
The little cakes and sandwiches were very nice, which I couldn’t finish and therefore I asked to take them home. There was a change over in staff and the new waitress, who started at 3pm, forgot and when I asked for them they apologised and after a further ten minutes they arrived.
After paying, I went to the toilet, waited for my cakes Which easily totalled an extra 15 minutes or more and when I decided to leave as I was almost at the revolving doors I heard someone (Diana) running behind me with the bill in her hand asking me for the payment, it was really embarrassing and I even said I paid and I showed her my copy of the receipt, she asked me to go back to the bar because she wanted to check it. I had to wait by the till until they found the copy of it, which was really embarrassing after being chased to the doors and marched back through the restaurant even after showing my receipt.
All in all the experience was a real let down, waitresses were inattentive and slow and then accused me of not paying due to their own fault.
I felt the need to write because I would think twice about visiting again and I’m sure if that is the level of service on offer others will also.
Went for their fabulous Sunday festive tea. Fourth time here, service is always outstanding and the food selection amazing. Love being remembered by staff and the attention to detail is phenomenal.
Highly recommended to people looking for an amazing location by the Thames and stunning decor.
It was a date with my husband and we had such a lovely time. I confess that I had booked into Meridian instead of the Brasserie but what a great mistake.
We had a very warm welcome and were led to our table with the biggest, most comfy chairs I’ve ever sat in.
The selection was varied ( I’m vegetarian). Service was attentive- well actually it was friendly and added to the ambiance.
Food was deeee licious and really good value. Hubby had BLT and I had a veggie wrap.
Can’t wait to go back there.
Lovely festive afternoon tea, good selection of sandwiches and cakes. Our waiter was fabulous and attentive.
Very welcoming on arrival and happy that my friend was going to be a bit late. When she did arrive no one came over to take our order. We spent a while attracting the waiters attention. We waited over 30 mins for a salad and soup which arrived at different times and the soup was not what we ordered. They did take the cost of the soup off but the experience was not what I expect from this kind of establishment and at the prices charged. Rather disappointed and won't be back.
The staff are super friendly and the food is amazing. great location ... we loved the afternoon tea, such a nice selection. only negative is that the wait inbetween first anf seconds was slightly more than expected. but perfect in every other way!
Thank you guys.
Lovely service and a fine selection of sandwiches and cakes. Plenty of choice of teas. Bucket chairs at some tables need to go all style no comfort. Apart from that ambiance was relaxing and we were not hurried or rushed.
Brilliant service thanks to Silvia
We had Afternoon Tea with my family for my mums birthday it was a truly lovely afternoon service was wonderful. We had a fantastic waitress by the name of Estera she was sooo polite, friendly, pleasant and knowledgeable about the teas and foods very great service. Some of the cakes were abit soft were they had been plated earlier ready for service but other than that it was all beautiful.
