With Mexican owners, chefs and staff, we are perhaps London’s most authentic Mexican restaurant. Our elegant bar, displaying over 260+ tequila & mezcal. It is the largest Tequila bar in the UK. Our Mexican Sunday Buffet Brunch is our chef's special day. All buffet style with a large selection of traditional Mexican dishes each Sunday. Our separate ‘DOWNSTAIRS’ at Mestizo lounge bar, provides a different atmosphere and can be used for cocktail parties, product launches, dining and corporate or private occasions. For all groups over 8 people we ask for a cc number to confirm. For CHristmas bookings we require a deposit of £5.00 per person before the reservation is confirmed. Food and cocktails were delicious. Service was alright. Our main waiter was polite. The boss got mad at us because we denied extra tacos. We had enough and didn't need more. It was a weird situation. We also had to wait very long for the desert. Besides this, it was a good experience and good food.

I can see why this place gets booked up quickly, the food is delicious and well priced! As a group of 3 we chose the taco tray and opted for a variety of meats - the best being the cochinita pibil and arrachera beef which were both outstanding! Wish we'd doubled up on those! Good portion sizes and very tasty. My only criticism was the fact we didn't get a chance to order or eat dessert. Whilst we were aware of the 2 hour time limit on the table, it took a while to get our order placed at the start, leaving little time for dessert. If restaurants are going to have a 2 hour window then the service speed needs to reflect that. Other than that we really enjoyed our meals and the cocktails and would go back again!

Great ambience as soon as we entered the restaurant. The staff were really friendly and were at hand throughout the whole dinner. The best Mexican food I’ve ever had in a restaurant, so authentic and you can really tell they want to keep it close to the heart of Mexico. Would definitely recommend too if you’re going for a celebration as the drinks (and tequila shots) were great!

We had the vegan menu and enjoyed it so much. It’s difficult to get a good range of vegan dishes in a Mexican restaurant but this place was fantastic and we enjoyed every tapas we ordered. The cocktails were also delicious. Food and drink all came quickly and with a smile. Couldn’t recommend enough

Our group has been turned away at the door even though we have booked a table for a birthday party a week in advance and confirmed the booking before arriving. The staff claimed the were no more free tables and no table has been reserved for us. We were told we can wait an hour for a table or leave if we don’t like it. Unacceptable even for everyday dining and especially insulting as we have made sure to highlight that the table is for a birthday party when booking.

The quality and taste of food were really good! Some dishes had more flavour than others but overall the meal was enjoyable. The service was slow unfortunately but it was busy so can understand if that was the reason. The drinks were delicious if a little expensive but worth it to try the range of margaritas on offer!

Waited over 40 mins for a drink we had to Go upstairs to the bar in the end and buy drinks we couldn’t wait any longer and waited over an hour half for our food. It’s almost like we was down stairs and forgotten about . The upstairs restaurant was really nice with a great atmosphere but downstairs was all packed together with plastic coloured chairs it was like a childrens play /dining area . Food was very average too

Bit of a rough start as it was crazy busy. We waited at the door for 10 minutes with no one acknowledging us or asking if we had a reservation. Don't mind having to wait for a table, but I was worried they would give away our table thinking we weren't there. Once we managed to grab someone, we were seated quite quickly. Our server was great. Friendly and helpful and even helped us with an extra bowl so we could share soup. The food was fine. Not as good as it has been on previous visits, but again, the place was rammed. We had tortilla soup, guacamole and chips, and three kinds of tacos: pastor, tinga and pibil. Only complaint was that the pork for the pastor was a bit tough (and I didn't get any pineapple :( but that was my friend's fault). The Pibil was lovely and spicy ans the chicken was tender and well seasoned. The store is also great - got a bunch of supplies for DIY.

Food was good. Service was average. Was asked to wait for a table to be readied (which was fair as we arrived early) but couldn’t get any service at the bar and then they gave the table to people who arrived after us. Was also charged £2.50 more than the price on the menu for my margarita. Dining area has lots of tables crammed into a relatively small space so you can listen to your neighbours and get bumped into by people rushing past. Tasty food but will not return due to the service.

Food always consistently tasty & authentic However on this occasion the service was so bad getting seated unfortunately, which it wasn't last time I went. Disappointing management by of bookings. Had to wait ~8 mins to get spoken to /for them to ask abt our booking. Then the senior greeter tried to accuse us of being late when it was 13 min past, we had been waiting to be spoken to most of that time past the booking time. They have 15 min grace period officially. After he accused us of being late,he never apologised. He showed us to a small table to wait at which would have been fine but we could not sit down as there were only 2 chairs for a booking table of 3, after a long day. We had to ask for menus, when this would make sense to use the time for us to chose if service does happen to be running behind. We were at this table for over 30 mins then a waiter (not the greeter) came to ask us for a drinks order & we explained to him that we would want to know how much longer it would be before our booked table would be ready first. At this point we were finally seated. Second issue was the same intial greeter took the umbrella of one guest at our table without asking or telling her, & put it in the umbrella pot by the door but it wasn't even wet. It's easy enough to forget umbrellas as is, due to their being usually left on the floor. It came across as a very bizarre and rude for a member of staff in a restaurant, after the interaction we had had with him initially almost seemed passive-aggressive. Greeter let down the established standard of friendly waiters and hard-working chefs. If you are going to accept bookings then ensure that your processes are realistic so that these can be honoured. And if things are running behind then, don't try to clutch at straws and try to transfer blame tenuously onto customers who have booked in advance.... Also never move someone's personal belongings without asking their permission, nor at the very least advising them of this.
