Had a fantastic meal. Our server Moussine was incredibly knowledgeable, especially about their fantastic wine list, and was attentive without being obtrusive. The food was stellar, especially the steak frites, the peppercorn sauce, the vinaigrette on the house salad, and the profiteroles. If I had to pick a nit, it would be the aspic atop the foie gras mousse…it was somehow both too bland and too tough. The mousse itself was delicious…but we ended up leaving most of the rubbery aspic on the plate. All in all, however, a phenomenal meal, and we will definitely be returning!

They have had since 1856 to perfect the art of service. They have not wasted a bit of that time. We had a server and he was fantastic. With that, the entire brigade worked as a fantastic machine and supported the goal of quick and perfect service for the guest. I have never had apps arrive so quickly at a restaurant before. I even threw another order in while ordering our main course and it was on the table 2 minutes later. The quality of the food is top notch as well. The roast beef sandwich had a bit of bite on it that was unexpected but definitely not unappreciated. As I was dinning with my 13 year old son tonight, I also appreciated the non alcoholic options on the drink menu. It was great to have a delicious option that wasn't a soda. Overall, this is a MUST for any visit to DC.

This is a really happy place - good food, lively conversations going on all around, good service - and the price is very fair. The location is nicely situated on a fairly busy corner with beautiful windows overlooking downtown DC.

Aside from the martinis arriving at the table straight up instead of on the rocks, the martinis were excellent (once they returned with on the rocks as requested). The entrees were also excellent and the desserts were delicious! Monday evening before Valentines Day 2025 had a full house, very loud and lively. I was hoping for soundproof ceilings but oh well. A memorable night out!

The food and service were great. Much quieter in one of the back rooms. Scallops and hazelnut cake were wonderful. A lovely evening out.

Discover Washington, D.C.

An international city with the food chops to show for it, Washington D.C. is brimming with new restaurants, coffee houses and spirited bars. And, while tablecloth dining has it’s place here (diplomats gotta eat), so does the casual yet delicious lunch spot (interns gotta eat, too). Near the Capitol, historic eateries and classic menus are favored by many. Excellent Filipino food can be found in Columbia Heights. Near Georgetown, upscale bistros and farm-to-table spots are the order of the day, and Adams Morgan is home to many international restaurants and locally owned cafes.
