Mexican Connection

Normally the food here is great, and this is our 1st Choice for Mexican food. Something was off this might, food came out cold, the steak was tough and grizzly.

Food is not the same. Chips salty, chicken chimichangas were soggy.

Always excellent food and service! My personal fave is the ground burger nachos with spicy sour cream. Just for the record, their spicy sour cream is perfect for everything on the menu. Been eating here on the regular for five years now, consistently Amazing! Go to tha Mex and have a good time!

The food and service was outstanding.

This a great place... food is usually very good, margaritas are tasty, and the staff is very friendly. This last visit was a very busy night and the soft taco shells were a bit dry when they came out, but I can cut them some slack because of the size of the crowd. Our server was great and we will return!

Mexican Connection continues to be a favorite of race trackers. It’s still where the starters and gate crew and assistant trainers hang out. If you want to overhear the insiders, this is still the place to go. The bartenders though are not the professionals they used to be. A margarita not shaken? Noooo. And here is.a place that specializes in margaritas but no longer stocks Cabo Wabo or most of the other better labels. Another nooo. The food is merely workmanlike, now that the brilliant Chef Donna, who made every dish special, has retired. The best things left on the menu are the spinach cheese dip and the dessert that features a fried taco dripping with honey. For dinner in-between that app and dessert, well, you could try the Cantina on S. Broadway.

The food was awesome and so was the service. we had a wonderful time.

I've always liked this place... it has it's own brand of ambiance and the food is quite good. The Mexican Connection has been around Saratoga for years and thats a good sign of how good a restaurant is.

Food was excellent but it took over an hour to get it.

The food was tasty and the server was pleasant. But the food arrival was very, very slow, despite the fact that we were one of two tables at the restaurant at the time. It took more than an hour for us to get our entrees. Also the portion sizes were odd. Some of the appetizers were huge and some of the entrees were super small, but it was very inconsistent. Overall, I would probably not return.

The steak fajitas were very tough and chewy with not much flavor. Very disappointed

Too noisy, too many small children at 8-9pm. Service was great

Great Food--Excellent Service... but, the tables are so close servers cant get to customers without a squeeeze......capacity overload.

A staple of Saratoga dining for as long as I can remember. We started frequenting Mexican Connection in the 80’s when it was located on Court Street, next to the old Spring Street Market. It’s probably the first Mexican food I ever had, and it’s still the same, and just as good, as it was then. The fare is basic, but it’s all good, and the portions generous. Pro tip: go in the off-season, or when the track is closed. It’ll be a way better experience.

wonderful house margarita and food! love everything about this place

Terrible service!! Not enough menus for table of 6, had to ask for napkins and place settings, waited forever for drinks and then for the meal. Asked for a larger box to accommodate my leftovers and waitress snapped at me.

Mexican Connection never disappoints! The food and service is always on point. We went Friday and it was great to see it so busy. Only down side is it gets really loud. We’ll be back!

We were happy to get right in on a saturday night. The food that all four of us had was delicious! We didnt feel rushed. The drinks were tasty! We all gave it two thumbs up!

Would have given 5 stars, but the waitress (whom we've had before) messed up my husband's order. She did notice it and put it in correctly, but this is the second time it has happened, so it was a little frustrating.

Ordered the Taco Salad with chicken, $18 (a bit pricey for a salad) and my wife had the quesadilla. After a few bites I found hairs in my salad, waitress asked if I wanted another salad in its place, which I did....but only at the insistence of my wife. Waitress didn’t offer a free drink or take the meal off the bill. Disappointed at the experience at the restaurant this evening. One waitress kept coughing very loud while going back and forth through the tables...I’m thinking we probably won’t be back.

It wS very busy but it was national margarita day. So it was packed and VERY loud.

You go to to the Mexican Connection for good, fairly standard Mexican-American food, the refills of homemade taco chips and salsa, the Margaritas and good service. Oh, and reasonable cost.

Food is always good, great value. Our service was outstanding. Guacamole was excellent, one of my favorites.

Not authentic, 1/2 of a plain cheese quesadilla 9$!!, everything is “extra” sour cream, guacamole, sauces... waitress was less than thrilled to serve us 😕

Visited for a late lunch on a January Saturday. We had almost the whole restaurant to ourselves. Our waitress was very attentive and accommodating to all of our requests. Food was quick, fresh, plentiful and very tasty. All of our 3 kids devoured their meals- kids tacos and burritos- then helped to finish my fajitas.

Taco Tuesday is always fun, three huge tacos at a really good price. You can’t go wrong with Nachos Supreme with spicy sour cream either! Monday’s have the Happy Hour extended hours through dinner too which is pretty awesome. I love this place, and you get points for dining here with OpenTable too, pretty sweet deal.

Always great food- been there a dozen times, never fails. Fresh and authentic.

We have been here several times. The food is always very good. The portions are large, and the prices are reasonable . We went with friends last night, and we did not feel rushed out .
