This is our go to restaurant for date night. My wife had beef over pasta and I had the duck- my favorite! Our waitress Lynne was terrific and helped us with our choices while being very professional and friendly. Looking forward to going back soon
This was our first visit to Mills Tavern. What a great find we loved it. The atmosphere and decor are delightful. Our server Lynn was AMAZING. She was lovely and knowledgeable and made our dining experience over the top. Her recommendations were spot on. My husband had the venison which he said was the best her ever had. My son thoroughly enjoyed his filet and while I had kept it light my caesar salad and shrimp cocktail were perfect. We look forward to going back.
Food was excellent but we waited over an hour for it and the restaurant was not busy.

Our group was large, 12 people but the service was great and the food was delicious- as usual. We have been coming to Mills for years when our convention is in town and Lynne always takes very good care of us. She is professional and friendly and we love to see her every year. We will be back!
Hadn't been in years and am not sure why. Decided to revisit and noticed their weekday Prix Fixe 3 course dinner at $34.95. Invited a friend and we greatly enjoyed. I did ask for a
table by the bar window as the music level was a bit high. I think they accommodated my request. The restaurant filled up so the music became background.
We started with perfectly made cocktails done exactly as ordered. I chose the seasonal greens and Swordfish unspicy. My guest had the Caesar salad and Fillet Mignon. All courses exceptional and the portions not so overwhelming that we looked forward to our desserts. Again exceptional. Mine was a bread pudding with reminded me of a gourmet slice of French Toast. It was served with a side of whipped cream. My had the dark chocolate mousse. The perfect ending to a superb dinner. They also had a reasonably priced wine list. Our server suggested the Malbec which was excellent.
Again, if there were only one thing I'd like to see differently is the music being scaled back just a bit.
All in all a gem of a restaurant.
Enjoyed it very much! We were a group of eight, and the service was attentive, and the food was excellent. Nice variety of flavors, and the ambiance was comfortably refined.
The front of the house was super accommodating. It was early and we asked to be moved twice and they made us feel fine about that. The wait staff was friendly and attentive. The drinks were good, the wine list good with a nice selection of half bottles and various wine flights. Overall an excellent experience.
Mill's may be our dining group's favorite destination. The food is always excellent and the service is outstanding. Special thanks to our server, Phil, for enhancing what was already a fantastic dining experience. We will return Soon!
Not worth the money we paid
Asked for 1800 gave me patron without asking
Food was good
But didn’t live up to the hype
Amazing professional delicious
We had an excellent dining experience. The service and the food were well done.
Waiter was unattentive and not very friendly. Bartender couldn’t seem to get the drinks right. Returned 3 out of 4 yet charged for 2 on final bill. We will NOT be returning for another visit.
Awesome food. Great ambiance and staff is helpful.
Another stellar meal at Mill's Tavern! Hands down, my favorite restaurant in the area!!!
Mill’s rarely disappoints. The short rib is the best around, the pumpkin risotto was excellent, and the desserts recommendation was perfect. However, the $36 Alaskan King Crab didn’t live up to expectations and neither did the tiger shrimp. Both were a little mealy. The PEI mussels though were perfect.
Day after Valentine’s Day - Married 10 yrs
Our server was very good and helpful with some questions we had. The food was excellent. The wine list could offer some more choices. The drinks, in general, took awhile to arrive after they were ordered but it was quite busy so, I imagine, the bar must have been rocking.
This spot is a favorite of ours and continues to be. I like the new valet system with texting to retrieve the car.
My boyfriend and I had such a wonderful night here! It was the day after Valentine’s Day and there was still rose petals placed on the table. We sat at a row of tables by the bar which were very close together. This can sometimes be a little uncomfortable but the ambiance of the restaurant made up for it! There were candles everywhere which was very cozy and romantic. I wish I remembered our servers name, but he was excellent! Had great recommendations and was very attentive.
Will definitely return!
We been to Mills many times but this time there was a few things that were not up to there standards
I will be back I think it was because it was Valentines weekend
Tiny tables.. everyone right on top of each other.. front door always open.. our whole section was absolutely freezing.. everyone kept their winter coats on... awful Valentine dinner..next year- definitely someplace else
Always delicious, but extra special on Valentine’s Day. Special menu included yummy broken heart martini. Cauliflower bisque was amazing with pickled cauliflower and pecorino garnish. All food was spectacular. Mills is pricey but perfect for a special occasion, we’ve been many times and have always been thrilled with our selections. The ambiance and service is top notch without being stuffy.
Awesome experience, food, service and atmosphere is wonderful. Has been our go to for Valentine's Day for 5yrs now. Special time with a special guy! Thank you!
food was good, not great. Calamari came with a spinach salad with no dressing Rack of lanb was good but could have been seasoned better.
Mills Tavern is one of the most underrated restaurants in Providence. It's on par with any other restaurant in the city. The only reason I went with four stars for the value is because you get what you pay for. It's not cheap, but it's great food and great service. The location is also great as you don't have to fight your way around Federal Hill. Skip all that and just head down to Main St.
The price to value relationship is grossly disproportionate. It was the most expensive dining experience we have ever had, and the food quality was standard to just ok. The service by Sam was great, otherwise we probably won’t be going back.
Wonderful service, great cocktails, amazing food! Had an amazing night and looking forward to going back again soon.
Food was excellent and quality supreme. My lady friend liked the drink special so much she had two. All and all an excellent experience we will be back.
Our meal was quite delicious. Really it’s all about the pastry chef. She is amazing! The olive oil cake was so tender and moist. Also terrific recommendation on wine pairings from our waiter.
Very good dinner - Prix Fixe menu was good value for money and overall we enjoyed it
Great night starts right at the convenient valet parking. Warm greeting by hostess and seated right away. For starters the king crab legs were OMG Salmon was perfect moist and flavorful. Added some sides and a bottle of wine. Perfect night.
