My companion and I had a dining room to ourselves; probably because we were in our 70's; therefore it was quiet where we were. Maybe they were looking out for us due to our age. Took me a while to figure that out. It may have been the temperature in the room but except for the omelet, the food was kind of cool except for those things expected to be cold. The food was good. The personnel was outstanding and friendly.
Food was excellent. Waiter was great. Bartender not the friendliest.
This was my first time at Mrs. K’s. I visited with a friend of mine for lunch. We had a truly delightful meal. The food was delicious, the service was friendly and prompt, and the home is charming. We even explored the wine cellar below and plan to return for a happy hour soon! Will definitely return!
Mr.s K's is as delightful as ever. My mother's favorite in the 50's and still reliable for well prepared and presented American food, attentive service, and good value. Nothing innovative, but that's the charm.
I had reservations for 2 on a saturday for there brunch. I was stunned that there menu though appealing online was less appealing and not at all appetizing, In person or compariable to other restaurants. However, I was advised by a coworker to give Mrs Ks another visit on Sunday where the menu would be more for the money and a better food selection. Although, first impression are the most lasting. I doubt it's worth another visit as a long staple in its community the building is old and drab looking fitting of an nursing home. I'll pass. Server was excellent though, whom I felt sorry for that I rendered a $20 tip while the mamosa unjokingliy upset my stomach.
I’ve always wanted to dine there. I was not disappointed at all. I had the ahi tuna. My mom had the pork chop and my husband had the seafood pasta. The dinners were very good. Our waiter was very pleasant and checked on us often. A piano player was downstairs in the cellar. So we had music with our dinner. Each room is decorated nicely. We will definitely go back again soon!
Great food, service, ambiance. Quiet enough to have a conversation!
The Sunday Brunch was great all of the food that we tasted was excellent.Would differently come back again. Thanks for a great meal
Always a great time, great food and professional nice staff
I really enjoyed myself. I was seated early and with no problem. The staff was great and so was the food. Will definitely be coming back
Had family in town and we all love seafood so I just had to bring them here , we went for Sunday brunch and everything was perfect nice soft music playing in the background hot crab legs my favorite on the buffet extra jumbo shrimp and the best waffles I think I’ve ever had , only problem is my family will be visiting a little more often now , love love love this place
The food was great quality and well prepared. Recommend to others.
Wait staff was outstanding. One member of the party could not have salt and the wait staff with the chef prepared a very good meal for her. Thank you so much for the service.
This Historic landmark restaurant is full of charm & ambiance! The food was wonderful & service was great!
Very quaint location. Good service. I had the grilled reuben but would not order again. Corned beef was not lean, minimal sauerkraut and the toasted rye was too greasy. My friend had the crab cake sandwich and it was very good.
Loved the charming atmosphere of the downstairs wine bar. Food was delicious and happy hour menu offered great choices. Piano music added to the experience. We will return.
Tay was total and complete AWESOMENESS!!!
Our party of three was seated immediately at a table on the lower level, near the bar. A private event was being held on the main level, so the normal seating areas were not available. The room was rustic, well appointed and welcoming. Unfortunately, the bartender had to wait all of the tables downstairs as well. He was great nonetheless! Our appetizers - crab dip and shrimp - were hot and tasty. The ribeye was presented at the perfect medium well temperature and was delicious. The salmon fillet was juicy and flavorful. The pasta entree was perfectly spiced, hot and paired well with the house red suggested by our server. We all enjoyed our time at Mrs. K's. Glad to see that the service, the food and the property are still at a 5 star level! We won't stay away as long between visits going forward!
We have been going there for over 20 years and probably won’t go back again. The brunch buffet was horrible
Brunch has a large variety of food, including shellfish (mussels, crab legs, shrimp). Service is attentive without being intrusive.
We came with friends. The buffet was good but not inexpensive ($35). Given that, the service was spotty. Our waiter was extremely cordial, asked if we wanted coffee, but not if we wanted minosas or something else. When I asked them, they acted like they didn't want to make a fuss. He was also out of sight an awful lot and we almost have to send up flares to get our check. A pleasant even, but the issue I have in the ratings as to value have to do with the service.
When I lived in the area I used to drive by. Actually came down and went there for the first time. A great selection for brunch. The food was good. The steering was comfy. And the staff was friendly. The only challenge is that because it was a buffet our server didn’t check in often.
Food Service reservations was great. I always recommend to a friend.
Great Valentine’s Day dinner
We visited on a Saturday and ordered off of the Brunch Menu. The service was extremely slow and everyone in my party food was cold when they received it. The quality of the food was not that great either. I was sooo dissappointed.
The food quality was fantastic. Ambiance was great. Service could have been better. It was Valentine's day and the server was a bit overwhelmed. My wife's wine was forgotten and we had to remind the server. Appetizer was out fast but food was a bit slow. Then, dessert was ordered and took 15 minutes to arrive.
I would still recommend highly because the place is still awesome.
We celebrated Valentine’s Day 2020 at Mrs. K’s because we’re familiar with the restaurant. Great food and friendly service, strong drinks, and live piano music!
We had a wonderful Valentine’s Day dinner and want to come back again soon! Forgot all about this diamond in the rough near by.
I made a reservation to surprise my husband for Valentine’s day and was not that impressed. It was very crowded and we were crammed in so badly we could hear everyone’s conversation. There was not enough staff to handle the tables. We received our wine after the appetizer and we had to remind her what our drink order was. Both our dishes were lukewarm and not as tasty as it could have been. He had the crabcake and I had the chicken penne.
The other staff members were busy getting the other part of restaurant for the dinner crowd such as white tableclothes, candles, flowers and balloons. The lunch crowd did not warrant anything extra or even a tablecloth. The one greeting us needs to retire since the steps are too much for her to go back and forth since she can barely make a smile and not friendly enough to make us feel welcomed.
The Sunday brunch buffet offers a great variety of tasty items.
The only negative is the closeness of the tables in the dining room where we were seated. It was very congested and difficult to move back and forth.
Food was delicious, and the service was five star delivery!!
The menu was amazing. All of us thoroughly enjoyed our food.
Service was good. Sunday brunch was ok, but not anything really special for the money.
Sunday Brunch was very tasteful. Staff was exceptional
We love Mrs K, food, service and ambiance is wonderful. Our favorite place.
It was very nice for Sunday brunch. Although I only had salmon and shrimp, others in my party enjoyed the crab legs. Didn’t try the oysters it mussels. Will go back in the spring/summer to try the outdoor seating which should be really nice. For the price well worth it, and the bottomless mimosas were good.
Amazing service and food was amazing. Music and food was perfect. I loved the downstairs area, can’t wait to come back.
The soup of the day was Chicken and Rice - absolutely no flavor.
Entrée was Meatloaf - very little flavor and the consistency of sawdust
Mushroom Gravy - tasted like Campbell's Cream of Mushroom Soup
Mashed Potatoes - arrived cold and contained the skins (personally I do not like the skins with my potatoes)
Green Beans - very undercooked
Raspberry Cream Brulee - I was expecting a raspberry flavored cream, instead I got a regular cream with 3 fresh raspberries on the top. The cream had a "funny taste" so I didn't finish it. I told the waitress about the taste.
I do not frequent this restaurant because it is way out of my neighborhood, but when I happen to be in the area, I usually have lunch here. However, for the past few occasions that I have eaten lunch, I have noticed that the quality of the food has been going down hill. I do not think that I shall be lunching here anymore.
We were lucky enough to have Chris as our waiter and bartender. His service was impeccably timed and the food was perfect. He paid special attention to my hubby's birthday and was very generous. We had the lamb chops and duck with appetizers of deviled eggs with jalapeno and bacon and tuna tacos. Exceptional. We had our meal in the wine cellar downstairs and it was a very neat and welcoming space. We loved it so much we ordered two orders of duck to carry out for our sons.
