I've been to Momento for lunch a number of times and now also for dinner. The food is excellent; the pasta is fresh and many ingredients are locally sourced. Service was excellent and very friendly. Looking forward to going back soon.
We found this place as a last minute booking for dinner based on reviews. What a great place. Despite the fact that we turned up late due to traffic and had less than an hour before our show started, we were made to feel incredible welcome and were fed delicious food and wine promptly. I would definitely go back and have already recommended this place to a friend.
A little gem of a place. Authentic Italian food with excellent wine
Beautiful Pre-theater dinner
This place is a real gem. If you are looking for an independent Italian restaurant this is the place to go! Fresh, tasty Italian meal cooked from scratch. The staff are very helpful and knowledgeable about their products. The wine is excellent and the tiramisu to die for!
Will definitely come back!!!
Fab food, wine & service. My friends and I had a lovely evening here. We were attended to excellently and all thoroughly enjoyed our meals which were superfresh & very tasty. The atmosphere was lovely and the music good. I will return with my family.
Thank you :-)
Food was very deep fried and not particularly nice. Small portion sizes and only two beers left on a Saturday evening. Really quite poor experience!
Excellent food and service. Ingredients are all locally sourced and there is a great wine list. The arancini and cheese board made for an ideal sharing starter and our mains were fantastic - fresh pasta, fresh seafood and fish, all cooked superbly. We visited the restaurant without knowing anything about it but would definitely go back. A great evening.
Loved our meal, owner was fab! Will be back again great little find in a busy area full of chain restaurants!
Food was disappointing, lasagne had no meat in it and was all cheese. Service was very good however, very helpful staff, welcoming.
Love this place! Super food and lovely people. My favourite place to eat in Southampton.
Typical local Italian eatery run by a robust and friendly Sicilian. The food for our evening dinner was all well prepared, tasty and enjoyable. Nothing fancy - just al dente fresh pasta and authentic recipes made to order and served with flourish. We left our wine order to our host and had a great Sicilian red.
If you want to feel you're in a local cafe in Italy this is your place!
Friendly welcome. Great food locally sourced. Authentic experience. Understanding of dietary needs. Will be back.
Food was nicely cooked and well presented, garlic bread was nothing special but pasta dishes were good, tiramisu was lovely. I little quiet but it was early evening prior to visit to theatre. Generally a good little restaurant near centre of town and Mayflower theatre
Booked a table for Mothers Day. The menu was fairly limited and there were no children's menu or options which was disappointing. The food wasn't amazing and for the price portions were miniscule. The squid had an unpleasant aftertaste and was served with what tasted like budget store bought mayonnaise. The seabass came out as 3 small fillets with a decorative amount of wilted spinach. Won't be coming back. The service was friendly enough. Could benefit from having a greater range of dishes. We were only offered the 3 course lunch at £17 ahead.
A real disappointment. No atmosphere and the open kitchen leads to the restaurant stinking of deep fat frying. THe Arancini we ordered was overdone - almost burnt and came in four pear shaped mounds on a plain white plate. Zero garnish and as it happens, zero taste. The two seafood pasta dishes we ordered were instantly forgettable. Deviod of any inspiration. Bland and tasteless. Such a shame as, boy could Southampton use a good independent Italian. Never again
Friend and I went before the theatre. Food locally sourced and cooked to perfection.... The owner was lovely and took time to chat and tell us about food choices. A lovely find that needs to be more publicised. Much nicer than these awful chain 'restaurants'
Amazing homemade food and staff. Francesco was really kind during our dinner and friendly. 100% recomended!
We were dining prior to a concert at the Guildhall, literally across the square. Francesco (the owner, I hope that's the correct spelling) served us throughout and helped make our evening. I have a Wheat allergy and was offered a good choice of GF options with locally sourced ingredients... very tasty, and my wife had Calamari which, again was excellent. The wines offered were high quality and a surprise with desert was a 5% sweet red ... for desert wines I have only experienced much higher percentage whites before so it was a real treat to have something lighter and well matched to our meal. Thank you Francesco for a very enjoyable prelude to our concert experience.
Just a great place to go for lunch and dinner (on certain dates). Highly recommended
Had lunch there with my husband and seven year old son. Good food. Lovely atmosphere and friendly staff.
Visited this restaurant with my friend. What's a lovely surprise! The staff was very helpful and friendly. The food was fresh and very tasty. I had fresh pumpkin ravioli with sage & butter absolutely delicious! My friend had as a desert cannolo or as they call it "Sicilian cheesecake" with a glass of sweet wine. To die for! We were surprised by the extensive wine list this place offers.
Definitely will be back!
