Lovely location, great food and a nice experience
Excellent venue, and amazing food ,in fact the best french onion soup I have ever had
mon plaisir is the most interesting restaurant set over a number of levels. great fun. we went for the set menu and it was ok, but that is all, ok! perhaps it was my choice but i wouldn't rush back. the bubbly that we had was very nice and a reasonable price.
Atmospheric restaurant, authentic french food, service and decor. Definitely will return.
Still a genuine French experience in Soho. Beautiful food, beautifully cooked. Friendly staff and relaxed ambience. Very reasonable prices
Mon Plaisir was brilliant as usual. I’ve been many times since the 1970s and it never disappoints. It’s great that it hasn’t changed over the years and retains its homely feel. Food excellent and service. The seasonal menu was great vlue
Very quiet, and we were late, service very good.
On the hottesst day of July we were made to feel beaultifully cool and welcome THANK YOU
Fabulous food and great service. The steak tartare was particularly outstanding
Delicious meal, good service and great atmosphere.
I really like Mon Plaisir and have been before. The food is exceptional and the service is great. I prefer a quieter restaurant where I do not have to shout over loud music, so Mon Plaisir is perfect. My only compliant was at around 10pm, the phone would not stop ringing and they were ignoring it, so it would just ring and ring and ring which was very distracting and annoying.
Mon Plaisir on the evening that I went had a good atmosphere ,the meal was good, the portions good ,love the onion soup ,overall a very plesent evening
Lovely atmosphere. Food was lovely. They made a birthday occasion very special.
Pretheater - excellent choice!
A great experience in French dining, classic French restaurant atmosphere and décor. Service was first class and the chef accommodated my vegan requirements well. Would go back.
I’ve been here several times before . This time the experience was poor waiting staff were distracted .... my partner was asked “did she enjoy the food ... she responded no “ this was ignored by staff
We were made very welcome, and loved the French ambiance and food.
The restaurant is lovely and the staff very nice.
However be careful with the mussels, my partner got sick.
But would still recommend
High quality authentic French food in a civilised, relaxing atmosphere. Be sure to ask for a table in the part of the restaurant with windows as there is an unwindowed backroom which is on the dark and stuffy side and not recommended.
A most pleasurable dining experience. Had lunch here with a friend: hadn't been for years, but it was just as I remembered it (in a nice way). Good food at reasonable prices, excellent wine, and good service. Very relaxed atmosphere. Just what we wanted!
In a way I'm reluctant to recommend this hidden gem to the world as its so good I want to keep it to myself!
We had the pre-theatre menu. Everything arrived promptly. I had the salmon with lobster sauce and crushed potatoes, my husband had the chicken. Both were fantastic. Service was great. All the staff speak in French adding to the authenticity (imagine the hospitality in the south of France and not Paris). Lovely decor. Was also very quiet and could hear each other speak, which was novel in covent garden/seven dials area. Generally an older clientele. If you're looking for something understated and good value Mon Plaisir is definitely worth a go. I would go back, and would definitely take friends before the theatre.
Great place to come for a pre theatre meal.
It had been years since I had been there and it didn’t disappoint for minute.
The food was delicious, the waitress was adorable and so caring and they even had a deal for 2 or 3 courses.
I shall happily return but next time sooner then later.
Have dined there many times before which speaks for itself
This has been a family favourite for a very special occasion for over 50 years, but our recent visit was not as good as usual. The main issue was the poor waitress service and some of the food produced was not as good as usual especially the usually delicious french bread which apparently used to be brought in from France but this time more like a soggy ordinary bake your own baguette. It is a lovely restaurant but disappointing this time especially as it was a special celebration with guests who had not been there before.
A good meal at a reasonable price.
The room we were. In was not as crowded as the last time I was there. They made sure that we were in good time for the theatre.
Mon plaisir was a gorgeous small French restaurant with wonderful atmosphere and delicious food. Can’t wait to go back
Really excellent food and a lovely atmosphere. At just over £100 for two of us it‘s not exactly cheap, but it was definitely worth the money. As it’s in the theatre district they checked when we arrived if we needed to leave by a particular time and made sure they kept to that time. Really lovely staff.
Great food for a reasonable price considering the area and the type of cuisine. All the food we ordered came out great and in good sized portions. The wine recommendation was great and we would definitely go back!
Dear Anonymous, Merci for taking the time to leave us your fantastic feedback. WE are pleased you enjoyed your evening with us and we look forward to welcoming you again soon. A bientot.
An old favourite, and remains as characterful as ever
I enjoyed everything about my visit EXCEPT for the frightful and very intrusive acxordiaon music.
This has been my favourite restaurant in London for a while and I was excited to be going but my visit on Tuesday left my quite disappointed. The scallops in the starter were quite cold due to being served on a bed of cold citrus salad which really didn’t go together in my eyes as the orange overpowered the taste of the scallops. The monkfish dish I had for main also left me wanting as the fish itself was nice, the sauce was ok but the black rice was quite stodgy and cold. We also ordered olives that were charged on the bill and never arrived. Real shame the standard of food I’d come to expect was way off the mark on this occasion and I won’t be rushing back.
Dear JoT108, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback with us and we are sorry to read about your disappointment with the dishes which were not to your liking. I love this place. Truly French atmosphere and well cooked food. What’s not to like

A return visit for lunch did not disappoint. Good, unobtrusive but friendly service included very knowledgeable advice on our choice of cheese from an interesting and wide selection.
Dear Donadrian, Merci beaucoup for your lovely comments. A bientot.
A passable French feel to it. They have all the usual French classics on the menu.I would describe it as more of a bistro meal than Haute cuisine. All in all an enjoyable experience.
A lovely family meal out with attentive service, very good food and a buzzy atmosphere.
Dear CarolP, we are pleased you enjoyed your family dinner with us. From Our Family to Yours, Merci beaucoup et a bientot!
Our regular lunch time venue whenever we travel to
London for an exhibition.
Dear MrsD, Thank you for your loyalty over the years. It is always a pleasure to welcome you. A bientot!
Good, unfussy French food. Staff were friendly and efficient without lurking. Very reasonable wine-list for the area with a good selection.
We will return.
Dear Noodun, Merci for your very nice comments. We all look forward to welcoming you again soon. A bientot.
My 10 year old daughter and I enjoyed a lovely dinner at Mon Plaisir before seeing a show. The staff was very nice, but a little clumsy (spilling a soda on our table). The food was beautifully presented and the waitress was kind enough to explain to my daughter the difference between British chips and French chips. While not an ultra affordable meal, we enjoyed it none the less.
Dear DavidaO, Merci! We are pleased you and your daughter enjoyed your Mon Plaisir experience. A bientot!
Very enjoyable meal. Good food and good service. Very interesting layout and has a distinct French feel.
Dear AntheaW, Merci for your lovely review. A bientot.
Good service, lovely food and good value for a theatre supper for eight people. We will return!
Dear SharonF, It was a pleasure welcoming you and glad you enjoyed your Mon Plaisir experience. We all forward to your next visit. A bientot.
