This place is wonderful... If you can afford it. I tried a very large portion of the menu it was delicious, there were only two options on the menu that I was not 100% satisfied with and of those two one was due to my dislike for wasabi, everything else was amazing. I even had some dishes with wasabi on them in which I thoroughly enjoyed.

Came for a joint 30th birthday celebration and had an amazing time. DEFINITELY a splurge! Did the tasting menu- amazing flavors and presentations. The egg custard first course was a highlight! So simple yet complex and delicious. Knowledgable server. Their atmosphere is also great, but the surrounding neighborhood is not the cutest. I understand why this place has stood the test of time in the Philly restaurant scene.

Had the 8 course chefs choice and every dish was amazing. Costumer service was outstanding. definitely an experience i recommend.

Food was out of this world good. I got the Waygu 12 oz. Australian Strip (Medium Rare) and the Fried Yukon Gold Potatoes. If you are ordering a $75 steak, spend the extra $3 for the Konbu Beef Jus. It is the best decision you can make. I am going to be experimenting at home with the hopes of recreating that masterpiece of an accompaniment.

My wife got the Ishi Yaki Bop with Waygu. Also not a mistake. They cook it tableside in a hot riverstone bowl.

For dessert, we ordered the White Chocolate Sake Mousse. It is amazing. Desert portions could be more generous, but it was delicious.

Covid safety protocols were top notch. Staff was super attentive and food was amazing. One of the most expensive meals I have ever eaten, but it was also an experience I will never forget.

Nice outdoor setting with individual pods divided by the plexiglass. We had overhead heaters and two small portable heaters. The waiter was attentive but kept enough distance so we could enjoy our meal without having to put the masks on all the time. I had only dined out twice since last March until now. This is the first time I actually felt relatively safe to dine. Everything was clean and neat.

A bit sterile and each table has an phallic light however the food and service are top notch.
