MP Taverna, Chef Michael Psilakis’s modern interpretation of a traditional Greek tavern, is an exciting staple in the Westchester dining scene, located steps from the Metro North Railroad and a stone’s throw from the Hudson River. Open for lunch and dinner, MP Taverna’s accessible, Greek-inspired menu brings Psilakis’ Greek fare into the American culinary lexicon and is another step towards the chef’s goal of putting Greek cuisine on the culinary main stage.

Great experience, again, at MP Taverna! Service, food and atmosphere...all top notch!
One of my favorite local restaurants! The hanger steak is always perfectly cooked, the pasta (cacio e Pepe cavatelli is my fave!) Is so tasty, and the smashed fries are to die for! 10/10 always. Also, Chef Michael always comes out to see if you are enjoying your meal, and it’s always nice to see the Chef!
Lovely evening... Great food, made parking lot dining feel like a dining room, fantastic view of the Hudson.
Good food excellent service
MP is always consistent. The food and service are great. They have raised their prices quite a bit since Covid. But I guess that’s to be expected.
Loved it. Everyone was kind, attentive, and the food was fab!
Love the food, the room, the service... Always a good meal and a lovely time.
Excellent meal. Very accommodating staff. The paella was exceptional, but even the basic salad was great.
Food was good. Staff was excellent.
Outstanding as always. Michael is so attentive!
Great night! Delicious food! No one rushed us! Will be back!
We dined here last night for our anniversary dinner. The food was absolutely delicious. Each dish better than the next. The hostess warned us as soon as we arrived for our reservation that they were extremely short staffed and wasn’t sure if they would be able to accommodate our request to sit outside. They ultimately did, but thank god we weren’t in any sort of rush because the service was very slow. The food made up for it though because it brought us right back to our honeymoon in Santorini with how delicious it all was. We will definitely go back! We had the octopus appetizer and the greek salad to start, both were delicious. The octopus was absolutely incredible. For our mains I got the dumplings and my husband got the lamb souvlaki. Both delicious! Highly recommend, just don’t be in any sort of tile crunch.
Our fave in westchester… could go there everyday and still be happy
They have set up a nice tent in the lot in front for outdoor dinning.
Something was off yesterday. Have eaten here many times before but yesterday was disappointing.
My wife has high blood pressure so she needs to carefully watch her salt intake. She order a salad with salmon on top no salt clearly told to a very nice waitress. Well it came out with heavy salt on top. My friend and I ordered the lamb burger which I love there have had many times before med rare came out med well and more on the well side. Neither of us said anything to the wAitress we just ate it but not the way we like it. When my wife said something they were very apologetic and the manager also came over to apologize and offered to make her a new piece which declined because she was turned off. They made it anyway and also took her dish off the bill. That was very nice of them, we all make mistakes it’s what you do about it. Being a holiday I imagine that the regular chef might of been off so thing weren’t going correctly in the kitchen.
This is a great place I won’t let one bad day stop me from going back.
Chef Michael Psilakis’ menu is consistently excellent! Have dined there for years and I’m so hapoy this restaurant made it through the pandemic!
Normally the service is excellent but we had a poor experience last night. First off, the food we were served was entirely the wrong dish. We ordered a mixed grill (Amish chicken, pork tenderloin, Cypriot sausage, Greek sausage) and was served a sliced hanger steak and greek sausage. I spoke to a manager and was offered some additional food which, while not the original order we placed, was a fair substitute. What was more disturbing was the lack of any follow up or waiter service throughout the rest of the meal. After waiting quite a while without anyone checking on us, I asked a busboy for a waiter to order a beer after finishing the first one 45 minutes prior. After receiving the beer that was the last of any service for another 45 minutes until the I flagged down another busboy to ask for our waiter. In truth, the complete lack of attentiveness for a restaurant where our entrees were $30+ dollars is disappointing. To top it off, my wife and I were celebrating our anniversary.
I’ve been dining consistently at MP Taverna for many years. Unfortunately, the service has gone way downhill since the pandemic. Yesterday evening the service was atrocious. The server was inattentive, clumsy, and unapologetic. One entree was incorrect, one drink was incorrect, and he never once visited the table to ask if we needed anything. When the mistake about the entree was brought to his attention he suggested we keep it because a replacement would take too long. Once the table was cleared it took 20 minutes to find him to ask for a check. I feel badly but there are too many options locally to have this service with these prices. Moving on.
Great food and ambiance. Steve fabulous bartender. Michael, owner chef super talented. Avoid snarky red headed male waiter. Only downer about this great restaurant.
Beautiful room, excellent food and drinks, lots of good seafood choices. Gets loud at peak times.
As always, terrific food, location, ambiance, wait staff and selection
The Amish Chicken is ridiculously good
One of the very top restaurants in Westchester. Fish dishes are all fantastic. Wait staff is as good as any in Westchester. Great and fun place to dine.
Service extremely slow- dinner arrived one hour after being seated. Not sufficient wait staff. Food very good except for pita bread that was totally burnt. Staff very courteous. There for birthday celebration, but told only dessert available was miniature cannoli!!
Excellent food, super service—- very very good experience.lovely.
Great lunch-service and food were outstanding!
everything was absolutely great!! the food and service
We love this restaurant and are glad to return after a long year and a half. Everything was terrific but we were disappointed that our favorite Bulgar Salad is no longer on the menu....lost to the pandemic! We highly recommend!
Nothing has changed since the pandemic, MP Tavena in Irvington Continues to hit it out of the ballpark. Best high end Greek in many miles. Fish to die for. Everything on menu is very good to excellent. Michael, your restaurant is one of the best Greek I’ve been too. It never gets old.
Delicious food, attentive staff, wonderful dining experience!!!
Wonderful food. Wonderful service!! Highly recommend!
Great food and service, although it did take some time to get our order. I have a sense they may be understaffed for increased capacity. The menu has been simplified to what it was pre-pandemic, but still quite good. Prices have also risen a bit, most notably in alcoholic drinks.
I went with my family for Father's Day lunch, and was told when I sat down (by a rather abrupt wait person) that the restaurant offered only a dinner menu (no lunch or brunch options). So prices were high for even simple dishes (like burgers and fries) and appetizers. The host was welcoming, but our waiter was sometimes impatient or abrupt. My trout was good, but the spinach side dish was bitter and oily. My husband's lamb shank was good but again very oily. I have eaten at MP Taverna before and liked it, but given this experience, I am not likely to return.
Restroom wasn’t working that day so took us upstairs via another entrance. Also, no dessert menu due to short staffed. Other than that very good service, food and ambiance.
Food as usual was excellent. The grilled fish was very tasty. Side salad outstanding. Service subpar due to shortage of waiters (in my opinion). No bathroom on site had to go next door and climb many steps. Still dealing with the aftermath of the epidemic
Great food! Took a bit to be seated, but once seated service was great!
They raised prices, but food was good.
It was so good to be back... the food was fabulous and the decor great.
We went anticipating a great meal. The waiter couldn’t have been more disinterested if he tried. Even thought he was wearing a mask, you could tell he wanted tp be anywhere but where he was. Took forever to take our order. My friend mentioned she had a severe dairy allergy and her dish came out with butter in it. My chicken was luke warm.
The appetizers were delicious. The entre very good. Two things on the con side:
1. No dessert. How can a Greek restaurant only have cannolis ? Not even baklava ??
2. Both bathrooms were flooded, and they were just roped off. No one was in there cleaning up.
