I love Mr Chow. The food is delicious
Lovely restaurant with amazing food would highly recommended
The staff are very friendly and nice.
I love the shrimp with the pecan and the chicken with pecan, it was very yummy!
In short , not good
Overpriced food, good service and nice enough setting. Food no better than most restaurants in China Town but 3/4 times then price
Nice option but expensive compared to other high scale restaurants in London.
The food was amazing best Chinese I’ve had. Initially was looking to spend about £100 each, but waiter recommended the £77 pp set meal which was worth it. The Ciao Chow cocktail is so good. 10/10
This was disappointing. I was expecting a fine dining experience considering a meal for two with one bottle of wine wasn’t far short of £300! There are far too many staff so they all end up fussing over you and taking plates away too quickly because they don’t have anything else to do. It’s odd there are no Chinese staff. Also, they play pop music....So if you are expecting an oriental ambience you won’t find it here. I went downstairs to use the bathroom and the decor is in need of smartening up!, it’s all very tatty. The other customers are the sort of people who use their mobiles while they are eating. None of this would matter if it wasn’t one of the most expensive restaurants, even in Knightsbridge. The food was ok, but we went for a special occasion and it was very disappointing
Food was good, though quite over priced for what it is. There's plenty of other places in London where the food is just as good but also reasonably priced. Service was somewhat harassing.
Excellent food but , ambiance not great considering the prices
Very disappointing experience. Not what it used to be...hope it was a one time bad experience
Didn’t really like the vibe, don’t like the options on the menu. It’s just basic food with crazy price tag, not sure what I’m paying for here. The price can not be justified.
Overpriced + overrated
So not child-friendly or flexible. Unusual dishes but not Asian flavour. A weird udon noodle dosh with a tomato sauce had European flavour and exorbitant price bear 20GBP, not substantial or tasty. Homemade pancakes for duck were heavy. Homemade dumplings, vegetarian, filled with green leaves and no flour or dipping sauce at about 15GBP for six pieces. Generally the worst place the family have eaten at with little flexibility in the menu. Hard to understand why it is still in business. Menu not online to have explored beforehand either. Felt incredibly fleeced and it did not even have asian staff evident.
We have been going to MR CHOW for many years now, always for my mother's birthday, and have a lovely experience. The manager remembers us kindly, including our usual order. Because it was her birthday, we were also given a complimentary first round of drinks as well as a large piece of chocolate mousse cake for dessert (big enough to split between two). As always, the food was delicious. Definitely appreciate the outstanding service and continued pleasant time with each and every visit.
My first and last time to dine here!
The food was Ok! The guy who served us was extremly rude, in the beginning he made fun of us when he tried to explain the difference between “beef and lamp” ! After itold him that his way was not proper, he took it personally and acted very rude. Brought our food without serving in our plates, made fun again when he said that “your mobile phones shouldn’t be at the table” and ect...
Never coming again.
The food is very nice, But the restaurant needs to be refurbished
It’s so so expensive....
We do not expect that is there minimum change for each person.
Example: Steamed rise for £20.
Was amazing going again loved the food. Good services.
It was a very pleasurable dinner once we moved tables to a quieter corner. The quality of the food was excellent but you can only get the Peking duck if you are 3 people. So we ordered as if we were 3 . They didn’t separate the skin but could have done. Noise level was just too high, don’t understand why music is needed when you want to have a relaxing evening !!!
The atmosphere is not the way it used to be and the dress code is anything goes these days and that’s really a pity. But if you have money to flash will here you go! Mobile devices in constant use without due regard to other guests and given that the tables are so close together this is an issue.
But we were treated well.
The waitstaff were quite rude / uninviting. The "crispy beef" had virtually no beef. it was just fried crisps, perhaps with a single string of beef inside. The bok choy was mostly all white, missing the leafy green. As I paid my check my receipt was taken out of my hand while I was trying to figure out a tip... so then I left none.
Good food but too much experience
Food has gone way down hill from the glory days.
After 15 years absence, I really was keen that Mr Chows hadn't changed and was still excellent. It is. Some new dishes and many classics. Service excellent.
Rude waiter, music was terrible, chairs were very uncomfortable and value was horrible, we could have dined at a two Michelin starred restaurant for the price.
We have heard A lot about Mr Chow, but was really disappointed with our experience starting with the menu ending with the food and bill!
Not worth the money we spent
But anyhow , we survived
Really nice lunch, always love visiting Mr Chow. Food is excellent, service is very fine and overall is never a miss
Sadly seriously overpriced less than mediocre food in noisy surroundings. Service very good and friendly, the rest poor.
Very disappointing food, expensive, and waiters are pushy trying to get the most out of customers. Simple not worth the price.
Best chinese food in london. Great ambience and lovely cosy place for dinner.
The food portion with the price is contrasting
Had really nice meal , lobster, pork, delicious prawns and the lovely waiters all sang happy birthday to my guest , not cheap but very enjoyable
You need to atleast try it once if you’re in london
