The atmosphere is one of relaxed luxury with original works of art, lacquered walls and white marble floors. Also on the menu is our superlative Beijing Duck and a variety of exciting vegetarian dishes. During the evening, as entertainment, a chef performs the skilful art of hand-pulled Beijing noodles. Known as an institution in London MR CHOW draws generations of the young and fashionable by serving consistently excellent food, prepared by executive chef John Wu and his team. "All of it impeccable, great, tasty, a triumph! That was a good meal to put it mildly" Michael Winner The Sunday Times.

The food is overpriced and below average. The staff are attentive, but do everything in there power to up sell you. It was comparable to a bad Chinese takeaway. If you want fried rice, It's £10.00 per person, oily, and flavourless.

Overall experience
It feels very pushy when we were ordering food. We didn’t really asked for a set menu, we wanted to order a la carte but the bill came out as set meal (£77/person) which was not really called for. I would be happy to pay for this price if the food is actually good. The waiter was really pushing for the spicy beef meatball dish, which is way too sweet and not at all spicy. We could have trusted our judgements and not go with his recommendation. I am allergic to eggs, which is why I didn’t want the set menu which came with egg fried rice, but the server took the liberty and chose for us.

Food quality
The crispy rib is the only thing that we liked. The Xiao long bao was not at all special for this price range. The main course fiery beef and sweet and sour pork, was not our cup of tea, too sweet that it overpowered all other flavors. Which was the menu that the waiter insisted that we should try.

Attention to details
I booked this place because it’s our special anniversary and we’ve been wanting to try this place out since last year, so we were looking forward for it. We added a remark that it’s our anniversary. About 90% restaurants at this price range and service charge would pay attention to this detail and treat our experience like a special day such as complimentary drinks or complimentary dessert. But it didn’t seem like this was as important as pushing overpriced menus in our faces.

Ambience
I love the ambience here. I think it’s one of the things that I really like about this place, the music, the cleanliness, and the decorations.

Food and service were good, they unfortunately stuck us upstairs out the way instead of the main dining area. It was quiet, cold and lacked the usual atmosphere of the main dining area.

Apart from that it was good.

Very overpriced for the food and not really worth it. One of the dishes we ordered wasn’t what was expected and they wouldn’t swap it. The “coca-cola” was definitely cheap 15p cola from Lidl. The pornstar martini was not mixed properly and tasted like poison. I cannot fault the glazed prawns - they were incredible. But the spare ribs were dry, the rice was not enough for 2 people, the vegetables were over salted and the beef was too chewy. I expected a lot more. I preferred the food at Hakkasan and Ivy Asia, much tastier.

Booked for a friend birthday.
The starters were 100% better than the mains. The lamb and duck was extremely overly crispy. The glazed prawns in the starters were amazing, I could of eaten it 10 times.
The interior is old but ambience is rich.

Overall 3/10

Haven’t felt this ripped off in years. I’ve had better Chinese from a local takeaway. A snooty and off hand waiter didn’t help the experience, although the manager was charming.
Horrendously overpriced, please do not waste your time and money here!

Previously dined in LA Mr Chows which was outstanding in every aspect so I was excited to do date night here in London ! Totally dissatisfied the food did not taste fresh , the crispy chilli beef was not crispy , we were not happy with the food , on the other hand the cocktails were amazing and-so were the staff .Paid the bill never to return .

Mr Chow’s has been a favorite of our family for years . Happily to say that the London restaurant has maintained its charm , quality of food . Ever since it’s opening with its incredible charm of Chinese cooks and Italian and multinational waiters it has been a place eat and enjoy . Raul was charming and incredibly charming . While pricy but very worthwhile!!!

Seating was very tonight no space to relax and manoeuvre around the table to sit comfortably. Waiters felt they were rushing us and bill as 350 for two people with one starter and two main courses which i think is absolutely extortion
