Nakhon Thai - Royal Docks
The flavours of Thai cooking are easy to identify: Lemon Grass, Fish Sauce, Coriander, Galangal, Garlic, Sweet Basil and Coconut Milk; all combined to make a harmonious and unforgettable experience, as is its aesthetics.
With its philosophy of decorated dishes, beautifully set out in small groups, accompanied with exquisite vegetable carvings and complemented with tiny bowls of clear soup steaming beside communal pots of fluffy fragrant rice. All elegantly placed together to be served in the manner for sharing.
Thai food is known for its diversity,< as each dish reflects heavily upon its geographical origins, thus by drawing upon these influences we can create stunning culinary masterpieces.
But its popularity has grown of recent, corresponding to today’s genre of nutritional thinking, as Thai cooking emphasises upon fresh ingredients, no artificial enhancements and the preserving of flavours.
The food has gone downhill and the last time I paid a visit to another branch which no longer exists. The chicken satay was plain with no spices and very dry. The main course made up for it a little. Not somewhere I would return to in a hurry.
very good place to eat. lovely.
however requested upstairs for a birthday, but they said it was fully booked.
stayed for over 2 hours but upstairs remained empty throughout the whole time.
customer there who have made a reservation and have a special event should be able to sit there
very good friendly staff & quality food, our group loved it, cannot fault!! we will be going back in near future. thank you.
Great restaurant Lovely staff good food nice atmosphere. Thank you will visit again soon
. Me and my friend wanted to pray before eating since it was Ramadan- they waiter looked at us as if we were aliens? Kept asking us if we were sure we wanted to pray. Made us feel very uncomfortable. Food didn’t make up for it either. Pineapple rice tasted of NOTHING there was no taste?? The curry we ordered had 3 “spices” on it next to its description on the menu, it tasted of water.. the drinks were good.
Great Thai in a quiet location. Not too busy and great food.
Never disappoints, delicious food, friendly service - will be back!
Great food! Fast service and Polite staff! Love it! :)
As usual the food and service were fabulous. We booked online and tried to add an extra person late but they thankfully managed to squeeze an extra seat in which was very good of them.
Wound definitely go back !
I booked a table for Mother’s Day. The service and the food/cocktails were spot on can’t fault it
Food - well balanced menu with plenty of variety. Flavoursome well presented dished. Generous portions (didn't really need a starter). Main course a bit overpriced at around £16.00 plus any sides/extras and about £8. Probably don't need the sides as main dishes has veg.
Service - hit and miss. Not much of a welcome on arrival. Not much explanation of the dishes (caused over ordering). Too quick to clear away - I was still eating although my friend had finished. No service after mains cleared away - no offer of dessert, coffee, bill!
Good cocktails, nice views once inside. A bit scary getting to location by car at night - you have to park in the deserted road round the corner and walk under the main road bridge
Had a 50th Birthday here-this is our third time of attending, what a wonderful experience to behold-top notch
Excellent quality and quantity of food! Would definitely go again when staying in Royal Victoria
Nice food. Nice staff. I counted nine members of staff walking around! Maybe bit more atmosphere would be nice. We would of happily of sat and enjoyed another bottle of wine but our wine cooler was taken and wasn’t offered another drink.
Went for quiet dinner with friends and as usual the food and service was great . The cocktail list always worth a try as well
Excellent food, excellent service and excellent location.
The food is excellent with good service, a definite place to go for Southwick treat Thai
Great friendly service with and excellent choice of food and with fantastic tastes
Very good Thai restaurant, good tasty food with great ambience. Comfortable dining.
Amazing experience with my sisters, we loved the food service and have recommend so many others to come here. No disappointments from us.
Food was lovely and service was great, would definitely visit again.
Found a gem of a restaurant when I moved here a couple of years back. Always great service and delicious food, never fails. A regular who will keep coming back!
Arrived early but still greeted with request to be out before next service (which was 2hrs away), so not particularly welcoming. Also took a while to get attention to get bill which was a little inconsistent with the greeting. Apart from that service was fine despite reataurant being busy. Food was very good and prompt and well worth the money.
Excellent meal and service. Thank you!
Nice meal - friendly staff - would recommend - best to book
Amazing authentic Thai food and drinks, it is a great atmosphere with a scenic view and outdoor terrace seating area.
Great location, staff were very welcoming, good cocktails too. Shame there's no longer any on-site parking.
Great little find by the water, lovely food and fab wine, will go back.
Spotlessly clean with very attentive staff. Nice comfortable atmosphere. Our food was very good, jungle curry, sticky rice, ped phad khing (chicken & ginger) plus noodles. Thought the noodles were a bit dense and lacking in flavour but overall good food. The house red wine was very drinkable too. Its very local to us and a great restaurant to visit nearby.
Food was lovely and service was good! Felt like I was on holiday!
Restaurant is okay; lots of rules everywhere - don’t do this, you’ll be charged for that etc. Drinks service was slow and food was very average
Good food, great service
Food is always good service was a bit slower than normal and the pop up beach has slightly restricted the view.
In the summer it’s so nice to sit outside and enjoy the view. Sure there is airplane noise but for some that’s part of the attraction otherwise you can sit inside and not get that side of the experience.
But food is always brilliant
This is a pretty decent restaurant. Service was ok and the food decent enough. For London it was fair value for money.
Great location and very good Thai food
A little gem tucked away on the Docklands riverside, the ambience was perfect as we dined al fresco watching surfers & wakeboarders - it felt like we were on holiday. The service was fantastic - attentive & friendly. The food was wonderful - fresh and the choice plentiful. Couldn't fault anything and would definitely go again.
I love Nakhon Thai. I have been going here for a few years, been at least a dozen times and every time the food and service has been lovely.
Second visit to Nakhon Thai and can't complain! Food is good and portion sizes decent. Service also attentive and good value for money.
We've repeatedly booked this restaurant due to the great food, fantastic staff, and lovely views over the water. We will certainly visit again, my recommendation couldn't be higher for this lovely place.
Food great, view great, couldn't ask for more. Service was great, best Thai food I ever had!
