Nakhon Thai - Royal Docks
The flavours of Thai cooking are easy to identify: Lemon Grass, Fish Sauce, Coriander, Galangal, Garlic, Sweet Basil and Coconut Milk; all combined to make a harmonious and unforgettable experience, as is its aesthetics.
With its philosophy of decorated dishes, beautifully set out in small groups, accompanied with exquisite vegetable carvings and complemented with tiny bowls of clear soup steaming beside communal pots of fluffy fragrant rice. All elegantly placed together to be served in the manner for sharing.
Thai food is known for its diversity as each dish reflects heavily upon its geographical origins, thus by drawing upon these influences we can create stunning culinary masterpieces.
Customer admittance (AGE)
Due to Nakhon Thai not offering (baby changing area, high chairs, pushchair storing area etc.) We unfortunately cannot accommodate children under the age of 5 during evening service (6pm). No children or babies under the age of 5.

Food was lovely , good service although a little slow expected due to the new Covid rules. Friendly nice atmosphere. The soups are amazing and so are the cocktails, a must try . Lovely location on the river with great views over the Thames
Absolutely horrendous, food was terrible couldn’t even eat it
tasty food, good portions, good service, nice location. No complaints in general
Great food, absolutely delicious. The staff made a massive effort as well with all of the precautions
Great service and delicious food, overall very satisfied.
This is by far the best Thai restaurant in East London. The food is always amazingly delicious, full of flavours and texture. The ambience is really lovely, Thai staff are very polite and pleasant. 10out of 10 for me, every time.
Birthday was good. They brought us our cake
Second visit to this gem. Staff were friendly and made it a personal experience . Food excellent !
Have been a regular now for over a year and as always food and service are second to none. Be careful what you order as portions are of good size.
Food wasn’t kept up to the standard of our previous experience.
Fantastic service, great food, lovely environment. The drinks here are amazing! The food was spot on and I would definitely go back.
Nice location, great tasty food with excellent service
Booked on Open table very last minute for my wife birthday on Monday 12 Aug.
They went out of their way to give us the best table in the house. The food & desert (& birthday cake) presentation was amazing and it was really yummy. The mango & sticky rice was to die for!!!
The service was fantastic. The service was on point.
I took my girlfriend here to celebrate her 25th and I must say.. I was thoroughly joyed with the experience, food and service of Nakhon Thai. I definitely plan on going back. I ordered the prawn house rice and added beef to it which was no issue and got the green Thai curry with prawns too (I really wanted the spice) and it delivered in full. The cocktails are very very well priced and come and big glasses, so value for money and the taste.. is just different. We felt as though we were on holiday.
I ordered a passion fruit punch (favourite) and later ordered a Zombie, my partner ordered a blue Hawaiian and a frozen raspberry or strawberry daiquiri. These cocktails were amazing, the staff were amazing, we even had asked their opinion on which of the cocktails were the loudest in lool haha, the staff were really nice. I got a taste of the daiquiri (second favourite) and it tasted like an ice cream it was that good. I asked them to bring out a cupcake with her name on the plate and stuff and they one upped it and brought out this amazing pudding (which was homemade by one for the staff). Must say that this place was really really worth it and it’s a little secluded so it’s not busy around the area. I’d definitely say to go at night as it’s a really nice vibe in the restaurant too.
Thoroughly enjoyed and will be revisiting.
The food has gone downhill and the last time I paid a visit to another branch which no longer exists. The chicken satay was plain with no spices and very dry. The main course made up for it a little. Not somewhere I would return to in a hurry.
very good place to eat. lovely.
however requested upstairs for a birthday, but they said it was fully booked.
stayed for over 2 hours but upstairs remained empty throughout the whole time.
customer there who have made a reservation and have a special event should be able to sit there
very good friendly staff & quality food, our group loved it, cannot fault!! we will be going back in near future. thank you.
Great restaurant Lovely staff good food nice atmosphere. Thank you will visit again soon
. Me and my friend wanted to pray before eating since it was Ramadan- they waiter looked at us as if we were aliens? Kept asking us if we were sure we wanted to pray. Made us feel very uncomfortable. Food didn’t make up for it either. Pineapple rice tasted of NOTHING there was no taste?? The curry we ordered had 3 “spices” on it next to its description on the menu, it tasted of water.. the drinks were good.
Great Thai in a quiet location. Not too busy and great food.
Never disappoints, delicious food, friendly service - will be back!
Great food! Fast service and Polite staff! Love it! :)
As usual the food and service were fabulous. We booked online and tried to add an extra person late but they thankfully managed to squeeze an extra seat in which was very good of them.
Wound definitely go back !
I booked a table for Mother’s Day. The service and the food/cocktails were spot on can’t fault it
Food - well balanced menu with plenty of variety. Flavoursome well presented dished. Generous portions (didn't really need a starter). Main course a bit overpriced at around £16.00 plus any sides/extras and about £8. Probably don't need the sides as main dishes has veg.
Service - hit and miss. Not much of a welcome on arrival. Not much explanation of the dishes (caused over ordering). Too quick to clear away - I was still eating although my friend had finished. No service after mains cleared away - no offer of dessert, coffee, bill!
Good cocktails, nice views once inside. A bit scary getting to location by car at night - you have to park in the deserted road round the corner and walk under the main road bridge
Had a 50th Birthday here-this is our third time of attending, what a wonderful experience to behold-top notch
Excellent quality and quantity of food! Would definitely go again when staying in Royal Victoria
Nice food. Nice staff. I counted nine members of staff walking around! Maybe bit more atmosphere would be nice. We would of happily of sat and enjoyed another bottle of wine but our wine cooler was taken and wasn’t offered another drink.
Went for quiet dinner with friends and as usual the food and service was great . The cocktail list always worth a try as well
Excellent food, excellent service and excellent location.
The food is excellent with good service, a definite place to go for Southwick treat Thai
