Namaste, and welcome to the best Nepalese restaurant in Bristol. While there may be a myriad of magnificent curry houses of an Indian, Pakistani, Bangladeshi and, at a push, Sri Lanka bent to be found up and down the length of the United Kingdom, the tiny Himalayan nation of Nepal is often under-represented. When you find a Nepalese restaurant then, think on that you pay them a visit, and if that restaurant is Namaste Nepal on Frogmore Street in Bristol city centre, you’re in for a treat. They offer the classic curries and tandoori dishes that mark out cooking on the whole subcontinent, with an additional range of delicacies from their native land. Start with some momo dumplings before jumping into a chicken jhol, mildly spicy with garlic and ginger, a masu tama with lamb, fermented bamboo shoots, black eye peas and runner beans or a Nepali thali. Please see below for important information about reserving online.

Unfortunately, we didn't get to try this restaurant as it was closed, no communication from restaurant, did not return my calls, and yet still slits available for booking on open table, very poor.

We booked a table but then arrived to discover the restaurant closed for the next few weeks.

I read the reviews and they’re pretty much spot on! The place is a little hidden but the food and service are really good. We were a group of 6 who tried a lot of things and all passed the test! This is definitely a good place to go in central Bristol

I can wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant for the delicious authentic Nepalese cuisine and charming staff.
It’s easy enough to find in a safe, busy backstreet environment and well worth patronising. However, for whatever reason is doesn’t seem to be terrible well patronised
MY ADVICE WOULD BE TO USE IT OR LOSE IT.

Ate at Namaste before going to the Hippodrome to see a show. The service was friendly and efficient. We liked the Nepalese twist and found the food delicious and well-priced.

I would definitely go back again.

Two professionals dining before a concert popped in here as it opened at 6 on a Sunday evening. As the first arrivals we were attended to promptly and drinks arrived smartly but the food arrived after the third party's meal was served. Quality and quantity were good but not exceptional..

Stumbled across this gem via open table. Food was authentic and Nepalese, as opposed to Indian although that's. availabile too. Different spices and styles were lovely; in particular the chutneys were a revelation. The owner and staff were very polite and helpful and gracious hosts. Highly recommended.

Friendly and attentive service. Some really nice dishes, some more average. Would particularly recommend the tomato chutney that came with the pappadums and the lentil dish that came with the vegetarian dahl.

Excellent food at a good price for this centrally located restaurant. It was a quiet Thursday night so we were well attended.
Interesting slant with the Nepalese dishes, my lamb dish was beautifully tender.
Worth another visit ....

Superb meal before going to a gig at the O2 Academy next door…..superb food and great service, even though we were the first people in after they'd opened on a Sun evening.

Warm welcome, good service, reasonable waiting time. Interesting Nepalese starters, good Nepalese mains (actually similar to Indian curry!), limited dessert menu. Overall a very enjoyable experience.

I booked the restaurant with ease for first valentines meal out with my girlfriend and the food and service was excellent. Never left more than 5 mins with empty plates but allowed time to converse until we were ready for next course. Recommend to Ny couple looking for a relaxing meal at a good price

They struggled a bit keeping up with a table of 15 and we had to wait some time for some dishes. But otherwise this family run business is lovely. I would go back

Although the decor is a bit faded, who cares when the food is this good. I had the Mutton choyola and it was the best sheep based curry I have ever had I would heartily recommend it. My companions were also pleased with their meals, but I think I lucked out and chose best!

We were in Bristol for the weekend a group of six of us went to Namaste Nepal. The service was incredible and all the dishes were really tasty. The vegetarian thali was extremely good value and we could not believe the amount of food that came with this! The traditional Nepalese dishes are highly recommended too - particularly the daal tarkari.

This restaurant serves good food. It is timely and accommodating without being overly fussy. It has great calm. Hidden by the O2.
