After coming here for a friends graduation dinner, I knew this was the place I wanted to come back to for my birthday. The food, service, and experience again was amazing! Would highly recommend for any occasion.
Amazing food that tastes just like Lima.
Very good food, reliable and tasty. Excellent service great dinner for a large group. Ceviche, causas, lomo salteado , all delicious
This is the only DC restaurant we happily return to! A diverse and exciting cocktail list, menu options for literally anyone, and such great flavors through every course. We have always had very knowledgeable and friendly servers which really takes the experience over the top. The pulpo and cebiche are not to be missed. We can't wait to return.
Much better quality and value that other Peruvian places in DC. Really enjoyed the dishes we ordered but as always overpriced drinks and TOO MUCH NOISE which really undermine pleasure in dining for me and visiting with friends. Turn down the music, really wish it would close up the kitchen and add some carpets and wall and ceiling covering to reduce the noise.
Service was so rushed, beginning from the moment we got in the door, that it made our dining experience uncomfortable. When two of us (out of a party of four) arrived, they wanted us to confirm that the other two were coming, because they had a very full list of reservations for the night. Once we were seated, the waiter almost immediately came to take our order. We told him we hadn't even picked up the menu yet, so he started explaining it, talking so fast that none of us could easily understand him (and this was in English!) It continued that way. Plates were removed from the table before others were finished, and then the server would come back and ask if we were done, despite having food on my fork halfway to my mouth. This would have been fine if we were headed to theater, but we weren't. I'd still recommend Nazca, because they have wonderful ceviche, but I'd caution other guests to be prepared for the speed.
The food is fantastic. My wife is Peruvian. She said it reminds her of being back home. The flavors and seasonings are perfect. There is no salt and pepper on tables, for good reasons. Not needed. Fantastic staff. The only issue is the way the lighting and the colors of the decor make taken pictures difficult.
Amazing food 😊
Excellent as always! Loved the jazz playing in the background tonight!
The service, food and experience overall was fantastic! :)
What an incredible experience
Spectacular food, impeccable service
There is nothing I can say that would be negative. It was an overall very delightful experience with a great ambiance to match
Ceviche was to die for. Portions were a bit small and not as hot as it could have been. The flavors were there, meal size and temperatures were the only drawback for me. Service was good. And a nice space.
If the food wasn't so fantastic, we'd have walked out.
The space looked great, we had high hopes going on a recommendation from a friend to celebrate a birthday on Saturday night, 2/15.
Took 30 minutes to get drinks. Tried to get water refilled 3 or 4 times to no avail. After ordering ceviche apps, they did arrive timely (Low level of prep, lol) however we suffered still for getting water refills, and for being able to get our entree orders in. Once we did, it was another 30 minutes until we learned that the server had apparently forgot the order. They did bring something to tide us over but then we waited for drink refills again. Sat with empty plates for a while, and still needed some drinks...
Meanwhile, the dining room, while charming and sleek was overheated to the point that we were all sweating.
Could have been great-needs some practice
Finally we got the check, however by then we were frustrated from the whole experience.
We tried this restaurant for Valentine’s Day and honestly we won’t come back. We have to wait (which is normal for this kind of day) but besides that we received cold food and really simple dishes for what we paid. Really simple food. My husband is a pastry chef and they put in the menu “chocolate truffle” and u don’t really feel it and I’m not gonna talk about the parfait (basically just yogurt with 5 berries)
At the end we were hungry with a bill of 200 for this!
The cebiche was good.
We went for Valentine’s Day where they had a special for $65 per person. Almost nothing about it was a special in terms of an actual de, but that isn’t what attracted us in the first place. We were intrigued to dine here because we saw some of our favorite dishes advertised on the special, such as “chorros,” which are special prepared mussels. My girlfriend was upset to find out they did not have any left when we got there. They were also out of lucuma gelato. Both of these are typical Peruvian flavors. We paid $16 extra just to try an extra item from the special menu which was no big deal but the special price could have easily been $40.
We went for Valentines Dinner and we had the best experience ever! We got parking right in front of the restaurant. Food was awesome. Noise level was very low. It wasn’t over crowded. Reminded us of when we were in Peru. Loved everything about tonight!
Excellent food and kind service. Peruvian cuisine at its best. A gem in Washington DC!
We were there saturday night to celebrate my husband's 30th birthday... it was phenomenal. The food was delicious, perfect for sharing. We love peruvian food and the flavors were authentic and just plain wonderful. The kitchen was backed up and our food took a while but they gave us a plate of free yuquitas that was delicious. The braised short ribs, lomo saltado and fried rice were perfect! We will definitely go back when we go to D.C. again.
Everything was so so good. The sauce with the seco de carne was like a dream come true. Perfectly made pisco sours. Ceviche that makes you swoon. Thank you for doing such fine work.
I had a great time, the waiter’s recommendations were on point. Will be going back.
The food was wonderful and the service was great. We were there to celebrate my wife's birthday and the kitchen and wait staff generously gave us complimentary cookies with a candle at the end of our meal. We also enjoyed a drink at the bar for happy hour before heading up for dinner and the service there was attentive.
The restaurant has scented candles that overpowered the space.
Not a good service. Small portions. Slow service. They always bring the wrong order. Pricey.
Dined here based on a Michelin Guide recommendation and had higher expectations. The food was tasty, but just ok. The presentation was also just ok. Service was barely satisfactory - empty dishes sat on the table for 20+ minutes, the waiter did not introduce himself, then he brought out our main course way too fast - we hadn’t even finished with appetizers. I’ve had better service at the casual Thai place next door. The place is unnecessarily loud, the decor is not special, and the entire experience was mediocre.
The food was amazing! The service was pleasant and responsive. The noise from the downstairs bar was not disturbing at all. We enjoyed visiting and will be back again.
I was really excited about taking a friend for a birthday dinner here and to both try something new. Unfortunately the service fell very short.. our server did not provide us knowledge of the restaurant or dishes- even after we asked for him to tell us a little bit more of the overall restaurant and what it was about. He forgot our drink order, didn’t check back to see if we wanted additional drinks. The food came out fast and the taste was good, but not note worthy.. I asked the server to box up left overs which I had to go find him to ask if he had them ready after waiting 25 minutes once we had already finished our meal/ paid the check. He then acted as if he had never saw me before asking what table we were at and what i had ordered and then frantically ran around the kitchen to find them... Everyone has off days but for the price and quality of the restaurant that was expected i would not go back or recommend this restaurant over the other array of choices in DC there are to choose from. Both I and my friend were very underwhelmed and I felt bad that we had that experience for their birthday.
The food was good. When I visited this place a couple of years ago the food was tastier than now. I think the food portions are very small and price. My friends told me to go to another restaurant to get a real portion of food. Our bill was over $200 of a party of 3, and we kept hungry.
Fantastic food and service as always! Looking forward to coming back soon.
Not ever having had this kind of cuisine, I was expecting to see and taste dishes that were unfamiliar to me (and I mean this in a positive way). This was the case, although it was not exactly a gastronomical epiphany: everything was good, freshly prepared, well presented, overall pleasing—but I was not particularly overwhelmed. This felt like an attempt to glorify a cuisine that may otherwise be quite plain; it means well, and is well executed. Some of the tastes were indeed pleasantly new and unusual. Original, interesting cocktails. This is a restaurant quiet enough to have a conversation, no TV screen in sight—a definite plus! The decor is tasteful but subdued. Attentive staff, perhaps a little too eager to take your plate away as soon as you stop eating (on a Thursday night the place was far from full, so there was no need to rush us out). They were able to answer questions about the menu (always a good sign). Some of the items were blatantly overpriced, given the nature of the ingredients and the preparation involved—quite common in DC, unfortunately. Still, I am glad I tried it (it was not recommended to me; I just wanted to try a kind of cuisine I did not know); this is a place I might revisit, unlike many other restaurants that I just cross off my list as "not worth it," but I would appreciate it if some of the items were more realistically priced.
It was really super great. Lovely food service and atmosphere
My cousin and I went for a restaurant week dinner and loved it. So glad to have a great Peruvian place in DC!
Terrible. the waiter was rushing us, the food was not good.
this is the best Peruvian restaurant I have visited in the area. And they emphasize seafood, which is the best part of the coastal Peru cuisine
Very disappointing! If you're looking for Peruvian food, there are much better restaurants in DC. This place is insanely over-priced and the food was terrible! Portions were tiny, the alfajor dessert was literally one oreo-sized cookie on a plate that they probably buy in packs like oreos at a grocery store. Avoid the aji de gallina at all costs - it tastes like and looks like canned chicken I could've bought at the grocery store for a dollar. It was literally shredded chicken in a bowl with an olive (singular) on top. Basically, this food is CVS level quality at a Michelin price, and doesn't reflect Peruvian cuisine (I should know, since I live there). I left feeling totally ripped off.
The food wasn’t good. Salty with extremely small portions. Wine pairing wasn’t great. The table was drafty. Service wasn’t great. Just overall unimpressive and uninspiring. Not at all what I would expect from a Michelin-rated restaurant. Don’t think I’ll be back.
Mom’s birthday. The portions were disappointingly small. Not worth the price but fairly tasty
