In showing this building some love, local businesswoman Shoes Simes has said that she hopes to help make her pub more food-led and family-friendly. In doing so she hopes to turn this local building of historical importance into an establishment for local families and friends to enjoy together. It all started 13 years ago when she first saw the building and she knew straight away that this was the pub for her and finally her dreams have come true, with a full refurbishment, this pub is now ready to be revealed to Eastbourne in all its glory. Once functioning as an old Moot Court, eventually turning into a restaurant in the 1970s, before it boomed as a pub trading as The Rainbow. It eventually changed to The Counting House and saw a new lease of life as the garden grew to be a popular haunt of all in old town. Such a beautiful venue, which will come into its own in the Summer. Great service, great music and loved the chilli margarita cocktail! Would like to return for dinner as closes very early on a Sunday when we were there, but we will be back!

We went for a bottomless brunch. I am vegan and found the food really tasty and there was a few different options for me. The other girls on the table really enjoyed the food too. Good service and would definitely go back again.

Authentic Thai food, lovely staff, quiet family type restaurant overlooking the green in the historic village of East Dean. It's my local Thai restaurant and each time I eat here I'm transported back to the wonderful times I've spent in Thailand. If you're looking for great food, attentive staff and a lovely setting, look no further.

It was Christmas night nothing else was open sp we chose 5th Avenue. Great experience, funky atmosphere and great food and service from people giving up their Christmas Day off
