The food is simply delicious. Beautifully cooked, full of flavour and looks fabulous. The service is very good indeed from friendly staff. It is a very simply decorated restaurant which is easy to relax in -you dont feel you have to be on best behaviour. The situation is wonderful with the beach and the sea just outside. My wife and I are only occasional visitors - perhaps twice a year. We go to a lot of trouble to travel from Chichester for lunch at Ventnor. You have never disappointed us. Our favourite restaurant and one by which we judge all others.

Nice atmosphere but way too noisy for our liking. Accept you can’t determine your fellow diners but some kind of soft furnishings might reduce the noise level. Food was good if a little over priced in my opinion £16 for 3 very small scallops? £30 for 2 ‘goujons’ of monkfish. £77 for lobster not a whole but 2 halves that were not the same size. It was known we were celebrating a birthday but didn’t even get offered a complimentary coffee at the end of a £190 bill, not that we were expecting it but the small touches make a difference. A 10% service automatically added which we were told was optional. If it’s optional let guests determine their own percentage and add it themselves. Overall a pleasant evening but would not rush back.

Managed to get a last minute booking as a very popular restaurant. The food, cocktails and sangria were all top quality- we chose a range of small plates all of which were very good. The staff were welcoming and friendly and I would highly recommend - well worth booking ahead.
