Food was outstanding as always. Service was uneven. We arrived at 7:10 for a 7:15 reservation and had to wait until 7:40pm to be seated. No one offered us a drink or an appetizer due to the extra wait. The other frustration was just normal issues around slower service because of staffing and how crowded the restaurant was. Not a big deal especially during these times. My only other disappointment was that in the reservation notes we noted we were there celebrating our son’s 17th birthday. No one acknowledged that and finally before dessert was brought I had to get up and flag down the waiter and ask him to put a candle or something on my son’s dessert. They did just that. So it was okay.
A gem of a place, ambiance and food
John Michael was a fantastic waiter. The food is always outstanding and never disappoints. The entire staff was very attentive. Love the atmosphere here too!
Outstanding experience from beginning to end! The service was top notch. The food was delicious. The cocktails were a cut above. We celebrated a birthday and are so happy we chose Neighborhood Services!
Everything here at the Lovers Lane location is a culinary delight. The nightly fish specials are my favorites.
Hostess told us we had the table for 1.5 hours-
Table behind us had 3 kids under 5- crying baby and booth kicking kid.
Manager did not care.
Won’t be back anytime soon
This is normally such a solid experience. Had swordfish and grits which were bland. Others at the table had flat iron steak each - one was perfect. The other was a rubbery, gristle filled piece of meat that could not be chewed. Server was very attentive. She tried to recover with a dessert on the house which was nice.
Dining room was packed like sardines as if covid was nonexistent, and we had to shout over the table to talk.
Sadly we will look elsewhere for dining.
Good food, efficient service........Just really loud and seating space is tight......Not the place for an intimate dinner.
Service was spectacular, our server, Doug is outstanding ! Great vibe, great food, super nice folks— including the valet attendant.
Truly feels like a neighborhood where friends gather!
Love this place! Did not love our table…
Ariel is the best. Spectacular service. Food and drinks were great too.
Food was really good and a diverse menu -will go back again
Steak frites and chocolate cake were both delicious!! Salmon special was okay, wouldn’t order again. service was great!
We loved OSK, the cute burger joint first on Industrial Blvd then moved to Trinity Groves and closed during COVID one. Bummer. Then...we found Town Hearth, same owners. AWESOME. So when we realized this place was under the same ownership we had to try it. First off: fantastic cocktails made by first-class bartenders. Old Fashioned was terrific. Dinner: server said he'd been there 8 years--that says something. I don't recall his name but he has a beard and worked the back side of the restaurant. Seating was not too close, you could hear your table mates speak. Music not too loud. The serving staff worked like a ballet. They were on it. We had: oysters as a starter (get the toasted bread!), wedge salad (awesome!); short rib pasta special, short rib enchiladas, steak/frites (voo doo sauce yummy!); and scallop. Decent wine list, we split two bottles between three people. We'll be back. We hear fried chicken Friday is worth the trip. It's on Lover's and parking is a be-atch so be prepared to walk and/or valet. The valet staff are awesome. We can't wait to try Montlake Cut, Desert Racer and Yo Lobster, their other concepts.
Used to be a much better experience with higher quality food. Crispy Asparagus still awesome. Other dishes were very average.
Very knowledgeable, appreciative and attentive staff. Lovely experience, as always.
Has to be one of my favorite outings to go out for dinner. We love NHS!
Wonderful date location!
Fun neighborhood place with great food and fabulous service. Our waiter Marques is outstanding every time.
Ladies Biz dinner
Consistent service and consistent food - great experience as always!
Ariel provided wonderful service and the food was great. We really enjoyed the oysters.
Lots of great items on the menu - good, healthy American food.
Everything was great. Came in to celebrate a birthday but didn’t feel very special
Have to say that this may be one of my new top favorite restaurants in Dallas. When walking in you immediately fall in love with the ambiance. Give this place a try…I guarantee you’ll love it!
Table was ready for our booked time, although we arrived 15 minutes early, so that probably helped. Bartenders made excellent cocktails, and was friendly while keeping very busy.
Venue is slightly noisy, so a booth table is better if you want to talk quietly.
Food was excellent. Fish & Chips for me, Chicken Confit for guest. Wait staff provided very good service, and was knowledgable about the menu, portion sizes, complementary beverages.
Best burger 🍔 on the planet 🌎
Great gals night out. Service was spot on and so was the food!
Neighborhood services is one of our go to restaurants that has great food and service in a great atmosphere.
Outstanding customer service. Waitress was awesome.
6 adults in a booth? The waitress was borderline rude, obviously wanted to turn the table.
Continue to be a fan of NS. Vibe is always lively but casual. Solid service and great food.
Delicious food and great service.
I made this reservation a long time ago and ended up seated in the bar. Unacceptable!
Amanda was fabulous!
Really enjoyed our dining experience.
As always, a terrific meal with terrific service. The noise is *almost* enough to drive me away—it makes no sense to play music while the don of conversation already is deafening.
But back to the food—the meatballs and tempura asparagus are addictive; halibut, steak, and pork chop perfectly prepared; and butterscotch pot de creme— the greatest. The wine markups are reasonable and cocktails great.
My favorite restaurant in Dallas.
Ariel was an absolute delight! Food was delish. Always is. NHS never disappoints!
The server was great. The Wednesday meat loaf special was OK. May be a matter of taste, but the server said it was the best she had ever had. Had burnt crusty on the edges. We had 2 of the fish specials. The Hake fish with grits, the fish was very good, the grits no so much. Expected better from NS on this one. Tried something new on this visit, will go back to our regular choices on our next visit.
The food and service at this place are reliably good. Last night, it was slower than usual - maybe they are having trouble getting people to work in the restaurant? Still, a little slower but excellent food and service.
This place is always loud. There are no curtains or anything to absorb sound. It can be difficult to talk comfortably.
Had 6:30pm reservations and didn't get seated till 7:20. Too many others in the same situation. Food was ok but mostly bland and not up to their usual standards (had been there over 20 times before). Had an out of town guest and was disappointed in the whole experience. In addition, never got a manager come by and apologize for the delay or ask how the food was etc... I know COVID has hit the industry hard but this meal was way below their usual lofty standards.
