I would have given it five stars for everything had the food been a bit hotter! We all had carvery veg, which were nicely cooked, but only just warm. Nice selection and the Christmas menu is great and varied, but it was just not very hot. We had mince pies and coffee - the mince pies were lovely, but again would have been nicer if warm - or given the option of having them warm. The staff were so fantastic and knowledgeable about the menu. We all ordered different items from the menu and everything was lovely and really reasonably priced. We chose to sit in the bar are as it was early at the suggestion of the staff member because it was quiet in restaurant. Food was delicious and wholesome. Good choice of wines. Wonderful atmosphere with a mix of local drinkers and diners. Beautiful log fire and dogs welcome.
