- JJaredGreater Boston •3 reviews5.0Dined 3 days agoThis is truly a special experience! You walk in to a beautiful dimly lit space which looks like a converted back or post office with the kitchen facing the entrance. You are warmly greeted with a glass of champagne and get to briefly watch the staff preparing food. From there, we were greeted by another gentlemen who shook our hands and walked us to our table (he recommended 2 tables) before seating us. Another member of staff welcomed us to the restaurant and asked if it was our first time. She explained the process of first, second, and third courses that are shared and can be customized to the guests; each course being larger in size. She brought us bread with a creamy garlic thyme spread which was to die for and then took our drink order. I ordered the maple old fashioned and my wife ordered a peach cocktail. Both were delicious and had great presentation. Another member of staff then took care of us for the evening. We ordered the tomato beet salad and seared tuna. Both first courses were plated well, looked vibrant and tasted delicious (side note: a little more light other than the candle to see the menu and the colors on the plate would have been nice). Adding the brown butter at the table by the chef was a nice touch as it sizzled on the plate. For the second course we share the chestnut bacon carbonara. Delicious. This was my wife's favorite. It was creamy but light and full of flavor. Our third course we shared the red snapper. Presentation was beautiful. The fish was light and crispy. Desert was complimentary and was a light simple crushed strawberry ice with vanilla gelato. We also received a couple of sea salt/dark chocolate candies. Overall a terrific experience, excellent food and drink in a great space and location. Perfect for an intimate night or with a group of friends. We will definitely be back soon. - BBrittanyNew York City •16 reviews5.0Dined 5 days agoThis was our first visit in a while to Zinc and now I am am surprised we haven’t been back sooner. The food, service and lively atmosphere were all very enjoyable. We came for Restaurant Week and we all enjoyed our meals thoroughly. I had the butternut squash soup, the salmon dish and the brownie with frozen yogurt; all options were lovely. My mother and sister who visited with me both raved over the soup into the next day and we all vowed we would make sure to come back to Zinc more often.More infoZINC New HavenPrice: Expensive• Contemporary American• New Haven•4.6
- JJamesvipNew York City •18 reviews5.0Dined 7 days agoExcellent meal and experience. We had a party of 7 celebrating a Birthday. It was restaurant week. We all ordered off of the RW menu. Portions were large for both Appetizers and Entree’s. Everyone enjoyed their meals which included Tuna, Salmon, Short Ribs, Steak, Risotto. The service was attentive and excellent. Overall, we all agreed it was a great night out and we will return. We can see why Jennifer Garner chose this restaurant after dropping of her child at Yale. There are outside tables, bar high top tables and dinning room tables.More infoSouth BayPrice: Moderate• Mediterranean• New Haven•4.5
